  1. Think the fact the fact they are already maintaining a strong stance over Haaland is the reason why no one has bothered to really go for him. Am sure clubs, not just us, would have tried testing the waters long ago.
  2. True. There are two types of manager when it comes to this really. You have one type who sees football as a business and will just go manage whoever regardless of whether they have a rivalry and then you have another type who develops a special emotional connection with a club and will never go manage their arch rivals. The examples for each type are pretty clear.
  3. The only reason they want CHO is because they are prepared to sell Sancho this summer.
  4. But Dortmund's stance is pretty clear and all the Chelsea journalists have also said Haaland won't be sold this summer. Dortmund more inclined/prepared to let Sancho go this summer.
  5. But they have also maintained a pretty strong stance over not selling Haaland, even before they secured Champions League football next season. Just like with some other players in Germany that have release clause (think Leipzig not selling Werner a season before his release clause activated for example), clubs don't seem to really push to sell their players before the clause comes into play. Also, don't think Dortmund want to leave themselves short by selling Haaland now. They have more chance to achieve something next season and make up for the price difference through Top 4 finish when his fee will be lower. There also doesn't seem to be any noise from Haaland or Raiola about leaving this summer. Can always go for Haaland next year...
  6. True but at the same time, it's never straightforward to complete big money transfers, even more so while we're in this pandemic.
  7. Think Haaland is impossible. This is the same club that decided to keep Lewandowski in his final year of the contract rather than sell him to Bayern and then let him go to them for free after that.
  8. We did that with Werner and Ziyech last summer.
  9. This was done before the final. Havertz and Werner so formal compared to the rest. 🤣
  10. Or old for that matter. He is mostly bothered about the short term only.
  11. Are people really surprised/shocked that Conte could go to Spurs even though he managed us? This is the same person who had/has an allegiance with Juventus, having played there for almost his entire career as a player and managed them as well, but then went to manage their arch rivals Inter Milan.
  12. Sounds like Lukaku wants to stay at Inter..?
  13. If what we know of Conte and Spurs' current situation are true, it feels like this move won't happen at all.
  14. Arsenal decided to sell Martinez last summer and stick with Leno as their main keeper but they are now looking to get Onana...
  15. Statistically, their numbers are kinda similar. Silva produced 107 shots in the Bundesliga and scored 28 league goals while he also missed 18 big chances. In Werner's final season at Leipzig, he had 117 shots and scored 28 goals but also missed 21 big chances. Although, I don't think Silva takes penalties for Eintracht Frankfurt?
  16. Conte is reportedly asking for more wages than what Spurs are willing to offer. What a shocker!
  17. What Spurs could do though is sell Kane to City and then get Lukaku from Inter for potentially less than what they sell Kane for and use the remaining money to bolster 1-2 positions.
  18. Don't think anyone is after Son, which is kinda surprising but as for Kane, does he want to settle for another season challenging for the Top 4?
  19. It feels like you're like referring to someone specific there. 🤣
  20. I find it hard to believe that Conte would go to Spurs when the main reason he left Inter was because they have no money to spend and Spurs don't have money to spend either. Even if they do get the money by selling Kane, which top class player exactly are they gonna buy in return?
  21. Have created a forum for Euro 2020 under 'Community', including a thread for each group. https://forum.talkchelsea.net/forum/105-uefa-euro-2020/
  22. The person on Roman's left is his son, right? When I saw that bit on Saturday, I was thinking "wow, he is all grown up now after he was last seen celebrating like a mad man in Munich". lol
  23. I mean, I don't really care too much if Lampard gets the credit or not but I did see some people say elsewhere that if AVB wasn't credited for getting us through the group stage back in 2011/12, then Lampard shouldn't get the credit as well. The managers who have been sacked under Roman can be divided into two groups - one that got a top job elsewhere because of their reputation built elsewhere or over the years and one that didn't get a top job elsewhere because they aren't that good. In the former group, you have Mourinho, Ancelotti, Conte and even Sarri. In the latter group, you have Scolari, Grant, Di Matteo and AVB. Don't need for me to detail the former group but for the latter one, here's the list of jobs that each of them got after they got sacked by Roman: Scolari Bunyodkor (1 year) Palmeiras (2 years) Brazil (2 years) Gremio (1 year) Guangzhou Evergrande (2 years) Palmeiras (1 year) Cruzeiro (1 year) Grant Portsmouth (1 year) West Ham (1 year) Partizan Belgrade (4 months) Ghana (3 years) AVB Spurs (18 months) Zenit (2 years) Shanghai SIPG (1 year) Marseille (2 years) Di Matteo Schalke (1 year) Aston Villa (4 months) If Lampard can learn from his mistakes and improve as a coach/manager, then he would likely get another top job some day (maybe he'll get another crack at the job here again). If not, he'll forever be moving around the lesser clubs and his nationality as well as probably his reputation as a player will always get him a job somewhere in this country (bit like Steve Bruce).
