Think the circumstances were different with Havertz's case last year. It was clear from the beginning that he wanted to go (even before the season finished), Leverkusen were open to selling him and we wanted him and then made the move to sign him.
With Haaland, the club are either still exploring whatever options possible to sign him because of the enormity of the deal or this all will peter out into nothing as they move to look for other solutions.
Either way, I hope the club don't try to drag this on like United did with Sancho last year because from what has been reported, Dortmund's stance seems pretty clear and obvious - they don't want to sell Haaland this summer and it will take only a mega bid for them to maybe change their mind. There has also been no noise from Raiola on this, although it can be looked at in two different ways. So either we are committed financially into making this deal happen (including paying bonkers wages and fees to Haaland, Raiola etc) or we just move on to other solutions. The new season starts in just under 2 months and pre-season starts in about 2-3 weeks.
