It's a bit dilemma between the two really - Kovacic offers better ball retention and link-up play while Barkley carries a goal threat which we could really use in this team. Pretty sure Fabregas is Jorginho's back up considering he's played as the deep lying playmaker when the latter has been rested.

Seems to be finding form and the goals! Would be HUGE if he can contribute at least 10-15 goals this season.

1. Willian, Morata and Alonso were hopeless. All 3 offered nothing going forward, Morata contributed more defensively than offensively, Alonso kept getting caught out defensively. 2. Luiz...what to do with Luiz? Looked good for most of the game and then went and committed a suicidal defending for the second goal. Christensen has hardly been great but he probably had a chuckle about that moment. 3. Poor performance overall - created next to zero clear cut chances, committed some very bad defending. Worst part was probably after going behind - started taking silly pot shots from distance and lumping the ball forward with more of hope than anything else. 4. Putting my carefree hat on - played poorly but somehow, snatched a draw to stay unbeaten and pissed Mourinho off at the same time. Good day...

Nothing wrong with Christensen wanting to play week in week out but him crying over the lack of time in the media isn't going to win a place in the starting XI. Like Sarri said in his presser, Christensen has played 3 of the last 6 games - admittedly, they were cup games but still important games nonetheless - and it's his job to do well and say to Sarri "hey boss, this is why you should be playing me in every game!". But his performances in those 3 games weren't entirely convincing. So maybe he should start bucking up his ideas before going to moan about something you can (sorta) control.

Not sure how you can compare Hazard's situation with Lampard's when they are both different. Skeptics will say Lampard used the situation/club to get a better contract but he wanted to leave for Inter because his mother had just passed away and he was having a hard time in his personal life. Hazard clearly wants to go to Madrid but is just keeping his options open with staying in case he gets rejected by Real and is left embarrassed.

Who's to say he won't cost a fortune in January? If he keeps his form going, Genoa would surely put a big price tag on him, especially if the other big clubs are interested in him as well.

But there's no guarantee he is the real deal. Last thing we need is another striker who flops!

I don't know if it's telling but even though the board refused to sell Hazard and Hazard didn't force a transfer move last summer, Real didn't even test us with a bid to see if we might make a u-turn. Like you alluded to, suspect Real are also keeping an eye on Neymar and/or Mbappe.

But but he is Hazard. He can say anything to make us feel inferior to others and get away scot-free...
