  1. I don't get this kind of reaction. Azpi may not suit Sarri's approach offensive wise but apart from that, he is a solid and consistent player to have in the team. Even if we were to get a new RB to replace him in the starting XI, there is nothing wrong with making sure we've got a solid backup who can come in and do a job, no? It's kinda crazy that how one change in manager, a change in football style, has made people turn on Azpi.

  3. 1. Average performance and thank god Fulham were hopelessly bad. Job done anyway. 2. Can someone please tell what exactly does Sarri see in Alonso again? I'd admit that Azpi isn't exactly the greatest offensively either on the other side but at least he's got some pace and is solid defensively. But Alonso?! 3. What is Sarri's problem with Emerson? 4. Giroud is really no better than Morata. Both are equally bad. Even against the league's worst defence, Giroud barely troubled Sergio Rico in goal. Think he had just 1 shot? And that's the same as Morata after he came on. 5. Kepa is pretty chill in retaining possession, even when under pressure. Courtois would never... 6. Wolves away in midweek and then, Man City next Saturday... #PrayForChelsea

  5. This point would have been a strong one if Alonso was scoring regularly but that's not the case. If he isn't scoring, what exactly does he contribute to the team offensively? I would argue that his goals can be offset by having a more dynamic full back who creates chances regularly for others to score. Heck, if our full back creates more chances, maybe our front attacking players would have gotten more goals! Problem with Alonso is his severe lack of pace and because of that, he can't position himself too far forward and in case of turnover and he can't get back in time. As a result of that, it also hurts us going forward because we sometimes have one less option attacking wise and not to mention, Alonso can't beat players one-on-one, meaning we always have to play him into space etc to get him going.

  7. No complaints about Morata? SHOCKED.
  8. Top spot is virtually secured but need a point from last two games to mathematically confirm it. Or can always pray for Vidi to drop points.
  9. Yeah but ultimately, they are both crap and we will get nowhere with them as our strikers!
  10. Never said Morata was any better. Like I said above, we have two poor strikers right now and we have to resort to praying they turn up when selected!
  11. The standards have really slipped around here if you thought he was decent. No disrespect to the oppositions but given it was BATE, I expected better than decent against those lot.

  13. You're right but you just had to mention that, didn't you? #obsessed The classic "oh look, he scored. he should have started!". Don't think the solution is as clear cut as that. Have people already forgotten Giroud had stinkers of his own in the recent Europa League games? Can't remember which games but he was totally nonexistent and that was agains poor oppositions! Problem is, we have two poor strikers and we're left with having to pray that whoever gets picked, will turn up for the match.
  14. But look at his silly defending for Son's goal. What was he even trying to do?!
  15. This. We are controlling the possession/game and looking to attack more in games but have hardly seen any cohesive, well crafted combination play that we saw at Napoli.
  16. My only criticism of Jorginho for that Son goal is why didn't he just foul him and take one for the team? He wasn't even on a yellow yet at that time. On the broader point, you're definitely right. Have seen people jump on his back after today's performance. Had he gone to City, you can bet your house on Guardiola covering his weaknesses and making him look like the best pass master in football.
  17. Kepa was definitely at fault for the first goal. The second maybe you could excuse him given he was left un-sighted by Luiz? Even Luiz didn't really help the cause by turning away! But on the flip side and rather than just focusing on the negatives, he also made some really good saves. Certainly prevented Spurs from scoring more than 3!
  18. Hardly surprised by the performance and result. It's been coming really.
  19. It feels like Azpi's supposedly average, poor (or whatever you want to call it) form has been over-exaggerated because of his offensive play. Take that aside, he has been solid on a whole this season.
  20. Most players would look good when compared to the erratic Morata. Doesn't make Arnautovic a good signing, even if it's only a stop-gap signing and last thing we need in this squad right now is another inconsistent and average player.
  21. This season... Pulisic - 3 goals and 4 assists in 12 appearances Willian - 3 goals and 5 assists in 19 appearances
