  1. https://www.si.com/soccer/2019/11/11/christian-pulisic-absent-usmnt-usa-berhalter-concacaf-nations-league-canada-cuba Berhalter said that on Pulisic's withdrawal from the US team last week. If he has recovered and is fully fit, then he'll play. If he isn't, then he won't play. No nonsense political play with the NT here.
  2. I'd be surprised if Roman ever wants to go down the Mourinho route again.
  3. Hey, I'm not the one who said I'm happy with the Spurs' academy and willing to work with the players. Yeah, those players joined United but they didn't exactly 'play' for him, did they? They didn't buy into his ideas and am sure the attraction of playing for Manchester United is arguably bigger than it is playing for Mourinho. It's similar to how we managed to sign Hazard despite having Di Matteo in charge back in 2012 (no offence to the latter). IF Mourinho can attract big names to a lesser big club like Spurs, then your point is more legit here. Otherwise, why would you want to play for him - given his recent track record of trouble - when you can play for managers like Klopp, Guardiola etc?
  4. I don't know what exactly he said - didn't watch the presser - but he didn't rule out a return basically.
  5. I almost dread at the idea of JT managing the club's youth players...
  6. No, I'm just talking about Mourinho's overall track record in this case. I don't think Pochettino's record in this was all that great at Spurs, TBH, but that's another debate. No one is saying that he can't improve established players here. That we all know he can do. It's more whether Mourinho can do so with young players and it's one thing to do with someone developed and bought from elsewhere and another straight from the club's own academy. Given Levy's track record, it's unlikely he'll get to sign many big name, established and that means, he'll have to rely on Spurs' academy, which he said he's apparently happy with. Can he really help improve young players and turn them into world beaters? History suggests no but only time will tell this time. But apart from Ibrahimovic, what happened with Lukaku, Sanchez, Pogba under Mourinho? Turned out to be success stories, didn't they? People have seen what happened with him at Real Madrid, Chelsea and then Man United and things always went bad under him, despite some success. Would you really want to play for a manager who has had a strong a history of throwing players under the bus, moans about a lot of things, plays boring football, creates a negative atmosphere around the club in the last 5-6 years? Players certainly don't die to play for him like they used to do a decade ago.
  7. Yeah, he achieved a lot here but he has also talked shit about us. Respect goes both ways.
  8. Oh, he's definitely on the offensive charm, saying all the "right" things in his presser...
  9. As @milan.cech alluded to, when was the last time Mourinho spotted a young and upcoming player and then develop them into world class? Probably back in his first spell here, which is ages ago. A lot of his recent transfers haven't gone too well as well. Really? Unless suddenly Mourinho starts to play positive football, no one would want to play under him and just defend all the time. Players reportedly didn't want to move to United previously because of his style of football. Mourinho is still a big name manager but his lure in these times are way lesser than it was 10-15 years ago. He will have to show he's a changed man for players to want to run through walls for him again.
  10. It's not compulsory to fill up the 8 HG spots, if that is what you're getting at.
  11. Lampard's pre-match presser will be at 1:30pm UK time tomorrow. Watch him get endless questions about Mourinho...
  12. Regarding the 4 wingers issue, it's worth remembering that Pulisic will take up a non-HG spot from next season onward. So we need to be mindful when deciding on the squad for 2020/21.
  13. Define 'big players'. Spurs have signed only 3 players in the last 3 transfer windows (no one signed last season) and none of the 3 were high profile players. Mourinho will be lucky to get even 1, never mind 4-5 of such players.
  14. Nothing has been revealed yet so far.
  15. A somewhat interesting bit is that Mourinho has gone and taken 2 coaches from Lille instead of going with his usual guys/team (I know Rui Faria has become a manager). He, reportedly, also wants Lucas Ocampos to be the sporting director at Spurs.
  16. Agree. Can't believe that there has been no news about his injury!
  17. Classic. Goes on the offensive charm early on, just like he did when he returned in 2013. And we all know what slowly transpired after that...
  18. We'll see. Thing always look like they make sense with Mourinho at the start before everything falls apart. They might reach another CL final but it won't be as easy as Fernando claimed, as if like someone flicking a switch or something.
