Lampard might play Mount out wide anyway and go with Jorginho-Kovacic-Kante in midfield.

That fella has phrased it differently and made it sound more serious that what The Sun reported in their piece... https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/10379440/chelsea-injury-news-pulisic-man-city-rudiger/ There has been no conclusive news about the state of his injury so far. Although, the club posted video/pics from yesterday's training and Pulisic didn't look like he was there. Should know more tomorrow or Friday, when Lampard's presser takes place. EDIT: The Sun news above also claimed Barkley is doubtful for the match even though he was seen in training with the team...
-
Thought the same initially but then re-read Lampard's comments and he had wanted to take Pulisic off for the injury before he scored.

Spurs' academy are giving talents to the first team?

He's a changed man...

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST! Sky Sports are milking Mourinho's return!

Another case of suddenly overrating the opposition, are we? How about we see how Spurs do under Mourinho first, aye? Mourinho hasn't been into the CL final since that win with Inter and hasn't even gone past the R16 since 2014! Since winning the CL, he's been knocked out by Barcelona (SF - 2011), Bayern (SF - 2012), Dortmund (SF - 2013), Atletico (SF - 2014), PSG (R16 - 2015), Sevilla (R16 - 2018). He got KOed by a struggling, average Sevilla last year (went on to rant about heritage and all that) and then before that, he decided to park the bus against 10 men and duly got KOed on away goals!

Watch Mourinho bring Fellaini back to England. Hell, Spurs might even get Willian now!

Indeed. Plus even if we take out the 2015/16 season, Mourinho's first course of action after a bad result is generally throw the team or player(s) under the bus. That approach might have worked for him 10 years ago but it certainly hasn't worked for him in modern football times. Whether they are better or worse, players these days require a more 'arm around the shoulder' (or something along that) approach rather than being publicly humiliated. His handling of Luke Shaw, for example, at United was a farce and, pretty much bullying him in the public almost every single week. It's a little wonder that players these days don't have the same loyalty, commitment like others had for him a decade ago.
-
For starters, show that he has changed or can change his ways and won’t drag the club through toxicity and misery again. His combustible character is the one thing that’s keeping him from the really major clubs.
-
He’s a great motivator? Are we talking about pre-2010 Mourinho or post-2010 Mourinho? What the last few years has shown is that he’s struggled to get through to the modern/Gen Z players. He hasn’t gotten the same kind of commitment, loyalty from them lot compared to previous generation players.
-
Well, it is certainly a shock that Pochettino got the sack. As for the spending bit, let’s see...
-
Vertonghen and Alderweireld are 30+ years old. Lloris has been error prone. Kane turns 27 next year, will he stick around and take the risk to see if Spurs will win anything? Eriksen may still want to leave. Plus, they don’t have the greatest of squad depth.
-
If so, then how come they haven’t won anything? The board and players weren’t faultless but that’s still no excuse how he went about doing things that season. If we are all happy with the way Lampard is managing the team right now, then how can’t people be okay with what Mourinho did back then? The atmosphere and mood is night and day. Criticizing the players is one thing but throwing them under the bus and doing so every week? That surely has served Mourinho well, hasn’t it?
-
Yeah but how many trophies did Pochettino win compared to us back then? No one said he’s not wrong to feel aggrieved but how is it right for him to lambast the medic publicly, saying a player was faking injury, throwing players under the bus every week, moaning about decisions every week, basically just making everything at the club toxic and miserable? If you really think it’s okay for him to have done all that, then I don’t know what to say...

Dec 4 - Man United v Spurs Dec 22 - Spurs v Chelsea Fun days next month!

Oh he can but that was more than 15 years ago at Porto. If he bins all his usual BS stuff and shows he can evolve, then there is a good manager there but there hasn’t been much of that in recent years. So let’s see. Whether it was a swap deal or not, they still splashed out the money. They still decided it was the best course of action in that Eto’o was a better fit for what Mourinho wanted. Calling us a mid table team before he arrived is a bit much, no? We finished 2nd the season before he came and in the Top 6 in 7 seasons prior while winning trophies along the way. Spurs have only 1 trophy to show for in 20+ years along with some Top 4 finishes. There’s no excuse for what he did and how he behaved in 2015/16, regardless of whether he got what he wanted.

Mourinho to Spurs confirmed.
