Since winning the CL, he's been knocked out by Barcelona (SF - 2011), Bayern (SF - 2012), Dortmund (SF - 2013), Atletico (SF - 2014), PSG (R16 - 2015), Sevilla (R16 - 2018). He got KOed by a struggling, average Sevilla last year (went on to rant about heritage and all that) and then before that, he decided to park the bus against 10 men and duly got KOed on away goals!

Indeed. Plus even if we take out the 2015/16 season, Mourinho's first course of action after a bad result is generally throw the team or player(s) under the bus. That approach might have worked for him 10 years ago but it certainly hasn't worked for him in modern football times. Whether they are better or worse, players these days require a more 'arm around the shoulder' (or something along that) approach rather than being publicly humiliated. His handling of Luke Shaw, for example, at United was a farce and, pretty much bullying him in the public almost every single week. It's a little wonder that players these days don't have the same loyalty, commitment like others had for him a decade ago.

For starters, show that he has changed or can change his ways and won’t drag the club through toxicity and misery again. His combustible character is the one thing that’s keeping him from the really major clubs.

He’s a great motivator? Are we talking about pre-2010 Mourinho or post-2010 Mourinho? What the last few years has shown is that he’s struggled to get through to the modern/Gen Z players. He hasn’t gotten the same kind of commitment, loyalty from them lot compared to previous generation players.

If so, then how come they haven’t won anything? The board and players weren’t faultless but that’s still no excuse how he went about doing things that season. If we are all happy with the way Lampard is managing the team right now, then how can’t people be okay with what Mourinho did back then? The atmosphere and mood is night and day. Yeah but how many trophies did Pochettino win compared to us back then? No one said he’s not wrong to feel aggrieved but how is it right for him to lambast the medic publicly, saying a player was faking injury, throwing players under the bus every week, moaning about decisions every week, basically just making everything at the club toxic and miserable? If you really think it’s okay for him to have done all that, then I don’t know what to say...
