  1. It's getting a bit annoying that we haven't got a result against the big teams this season even though our performances in general have been better than the results suggest. We have been left to rue stupid defensive errors after every game against those big sides. On one hand, anyone can lose to Liverpool and Man City but on the other hand, we should have done better against them. Gave away dumb goals in the league encounters. Even Lampard started to look exasperated to talk about the "little details", "small margins" etc being the decisive factor again at the weekend. The MAJOR blot in the copybook is losing to Man United TWICE! Okay, one was in the League Cup which we didn't really care about but it's still frustrating. And of course, our next big 6 opponent is Mourinho's Spurs...what could go wrong?
  2. He had the chance to prevent the goal after giving the ball away but what did he do? Dived in foolishly and De Bruyne made him look like a fool and scored (albeit with a deflection). I expect better from one of the more experienced players in the squad and the vice-captain, who has been praised to the heavens this season! It's maddening how the experienced players are the ones making the more fatal mistakes in these games this season!

  5. The one thing I'd say is it's a shame that Silva hasn't proven Paul Merson wrong for his ridiculous comments when he first came to England. Otherwise, yeah. He's been underwhelming ever since his days at Hull.
  6. We go to Goodison Park very soon...
  7. JFC! How is Solskjaer the manager of Man United? That's the kind of comments Moyes and Hodgson used to make at United and Liverpool respectively and got panned for!
  8. Zaha is not a striker! And god please, no. He's overrated. Stay far away as possible!
  9. Said it before, buying players from Eredivisie is a huge risk. So many have come to the Premier League from there and failed over the years. Tadic, for example, was bang average in the PL but looked like a world beater all of a sudden in that Ajax side.
  10. It's not an overreaction to one match but it really reinforced the fact that we need more from those positions. Regarding Abraham, I'd cut him some slack. He's still young and it's his first season in our first team. But we need better options than Batshuayi and Giroud.
  11. One problem is because a midfield trio of Jorginho/Kovacic/Kante just do not provide enough attacking threat, none of them can link midfield and attack consistently. It's why we need Mount or Loftus-Cheek in the XI. Would like Lampard to test Pulisic in the No.10 role though.
  12. Same could be said about the entire team really.
  13. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2019/11/23/referees-boss-admits-var-watford-vs-chelsea-penalty-overrule-a-m Mike Riley admitted VAR was wrong to give Watford a penalty against us...
  14. It's just you. Jorginho is like another Fabregas situation for us. Will boss the smaller teams and not get exploited so often defensively but the opposite happens against the bigger sides.
  15. Our PL record against the Big 6 in the last 2 seasons are the same - P10 W3 D3 L4. In Conte's final season, we picked up 7 points from the home games and 5 from away fixtures. Under Sarri, we picked up 10 points from the home fixtures and just the 1 away from home.
  16. Exclusive: Jadon Sancho feels 'humiliated and scapegoated' by Dortmund amid interest from Barcelona, Liverpool, United and Real https://theathletic.com/1403402/2019/11/24/exclusive-jadon-sancho-feels-humiliated-and-scapegoated-by-dortmund-amid-interest-from-barcelona-liverpool-united-and-real/
  17. I’m counting from the time he came to the club. His impact against the big teams has certainly not been good as the impact he’s shown against the smaller teams.
  18. Tried to force a pass into traffic and then dumbly dived in on that De Bruyne goal yesterday. For all his good performances, he hasn’t made his mark against the big teams yet, has he? And no, I’m not counting Ajax! His flaws are certainly getting exposed in such big games.
  19. Valencia have won only 4 of their 9 home games this season but have lost only 1 - to Ajax.
  20. Unpopular Opinion: Jorginho is kinda crap against the big teams.
  21. Maybe but I was kinda thinking more on the ‘good’ vs ‘bad’ moments.
  22. Strange to see Roy Keane being so complimentary!
  23. L 0-4 Man United L 1-2 Liverpool L 1-2 Man City Next Big 6 opponent is Spurs on Dec 22...
