  1. Wolves have gone 2-0 down at Southampton. Maybe we should start fearing Southampton in the Top 4 battle...
  2. Wonder if Levy regrets hiring Mourinho now...nothing has really changed from Pochettino, has it?
  3. So many different kind of goals there!
  4. Good Morning America did an interview (albeit not a long one) with Pulisic...
  5. Think both parties would have to agree to putting an extension option in the contract? Or if the club activate the option, the player would have to agree as well? Otherwise, the player would just be "surrendering" himself to the club if they have no say whatsoever.
  6. I don't disagree with the point you're trying to make but in our case, not sure if playing that match really made any difference to the match fitness. That game in the US was 3 days after our last league game (May 12) and after that, we had two full weeks to prep for the Europa League. If that friendly game was played a week before the final, then yeah but since it wasn't, don't think it mattered too much. I'm sure if the club were concerned about the match fitness, they would have just arranged a friendly with some other club back home or heck, scheduled that friendly in the US a week before the final.
  7. Young to Inter confirmed and the initial deal is only 6 months! But there is an option to extend for another year.
  8. That I agree with your point and his European record has always been iffy but did he not revive Juventus' fortunes? Did he not make them relevant and a big club again with the domestic success? So outraged by Morata? Morata wasn't his first choice but for the first half 2017/18 season, Conte made it work and Morata did well. It was only after that things went downhill. He could have asked for Aubameyang but we all know Conte wants specific type of players in his system and Aubameyang certainly doesn't fit into the bill. IIRC, he wanted Bakayoko or was okay with him but he wanted to slowly integrate him while still keeping Matic around. But once we sold him, Conte had to throw him in straight away. If anything, Loftus-Cheek could have been kept around that season instead of being loaned out to Palace.
  9. I'm pretty sure Morata wasn't his first choice but anyway, did he really have much of a choice back then? The alternative to Morata was Batshuayi (don't think much needs to be said about him) and Bakayoko...err, nothing. So Conte reviving Juventus' fortunes and starting their Serie A domination isn't his legacy?
  10. TBF, a player's shelf life in Serie A is different to the Premier League or other leagues. Players over 30 may be considered over the hill in the Premier League but they might still thrive in Serie A. We have seen so many players do well late into their 30s over there. So who knows, with the nature of Serie A, Young could do well there under Conte. Also, I'm not sure you can accuse Conte of his short term thinking in this scenario. Inter have young players and/or players who have not achieved success at the highest level. Young, for example, has won titles at United and played big matches regardless of the mess they both have been in in recent years. Not many players in the current Inter squad have even won a trophy. So from the experience perspective, don't think there's much wrong with bringing Young in. Plus, Inter have their problems with FFP and don't exactly have huge financial to compete with Man City, Barcelona etc to bring in the best (e.g. Barella, Sensi have been two of Inter's best players this season but actually on loan from Cagliari and Sassuolo respectively at the moment). So in some ways, they gotta make do with what's possible for now.
  11. The ironic thing here is the club didn't buy Conte's duds but still ended up buying their own duds.
  12. Guess we can't fault Lampard for being consistent in his message about transfers this month - we will only sign players if they are the right ones, otherwise the business will be done in the summer.
  13. Going by Lampard's presser, think only Pulisic and obviously Loftus-Cheek are not available for this game. No mention of Alonso, Kante etc. Pulisic will likely return in early February, meaning he should be good to go again after the mini winter break and Loftus-Cheek could train with the first team again after that break (he's currently training with the youth teams to build his fitness).
  14. Lampard said Pulisic will likely be back in early February, should be ready to play again after the mini winter break.
  15. Funny thing is, he barely set the world alight after we sold him, not that he did that here.
