[PRE-CRYSTAL PALACE] Lampard on what he wants from the midfield... https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2020/07/07/lampard--i-want-my-midfield-fluid

Like I implied, I am not 100% certain and feel free to correct me but I am just going off based on what is normally reported when we buy players. I don't recall seeing anything about us paying fees in installments and our highest fee paid so far is only 70 million, which is not very high considering how crazy today's market can be.

Fair play.

We will know next Monday...

It all depends on City's European ban appeal is what I would say at this point.

I really want to talk about the permutations but am very scared of jinxing the team. 🤐

Since you watch a lot of youth games, what are your thoughts on him? What is he good at, not good at etc? No offence but his surname is gonna be memed...

But like what King Kante said, what is our transfer budget? What is the estimated amount that we will have to spend? People like to draw up scenarios that we sell this player, that player to get money but let's face it, those are all hypothetical scenarios right now. We still need to sell them first before talking about having the money for certain. Moreover, we are in the middle of a pandemic and while we are in a better financial position than most clubs, god knows how much the club have been hit financially by the situation. If the latest reports are true, then it is telling that we want to pay the Havertz fee in installments. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think we've ever done that before. Havertz will obviously cost more than we've ever paid for a player but still. And that is just one player we're talking about here. The club are still targeting a LB, CB and probably GK as well.
-
Yes, that money will help us buy Havertz, a GK, a LB and new CBs...

At this point, even a Conference keeper might do better than Kepa. If the bar is set against Kepa, any keeper would likely do better. What we need to do is identify a genuine top class keeper, not compare with Kepa because that bar is very, very low.

The Hazard money practically covers the Werner and Ziyech purchases, with some leftovers. Otherwise yeah but but people have seen saying we have tons of money... 🙃

Some clubs are not going to be happy with this...

ALL? Imagine buying someone for 8 million and the buyer tell the seller we'll play the fee in 8 installments! Paying installments mostly applies to the bigger transfers and it comes down to how both clubs agree with the arrangement.

As well as Zouma has done since he came back into the XI, don't understand why people are falling for the same trap again of over-praising our CBs again when they are all flawed (leaving Tomori out of this since he has been playing much and is out injured). The fact of the matter is Rudiger, Zouma and Christensen are all error prone defenders. Go through our games this season and they have looked good at some point and total disaster at another. For example, only the other day Christensen looked so good against Man City and he then dropped a clanger against West Ham one week later. They are all unreliable and it's almost become a case of choosing the right defenders and hoping it'll go well.

https://theathletic.com/1915926/2020/07/08/jorginho-chelsea-lampard-frank-gilmour-sarri/ According to The Athletic, Jorginho's agent will hold talks with the club about his future at the end of the season. Jorginho is settled in London but keeping an open mind about his future. A move to Juventus is not out of the question but nothing from them so far to suggest they are prepared to pay the money that Marina will demand for Jorginho, who still has 3 years left on his contract.

Disagree with this. When Gilmour was on the pitch, we never looked in control of the game. It was like watching a basketball game. It kept going back and forth. Jorginho came on and we looked much more in control of the 10 minutes or so that followed than the entire game before that. It was only 10 minutes but it took the momentum out of Palace for that period of time when we could have easily conceded. Palace coming at us in the last few minutes was more down to (a) the players making stupid errors - e.g. Abraham gave the ball away and nearly cost us a goal - (b) the classic case of the losing team throwing the kitchen sink in the final few minutes and (c) our overall poor in-game management - e.g. some players not being smart enough to run down the clock and kept making wrong decisions.

Installments? How many installments? I thought people say that we have a lot of money and can afford to buy in one go!

Alfredo Pedulla is at it again...

Not sure what's worse - people saying he was a marketing purchase or that he needed to go out on loan!
