So many assist? Barkley only has 5 this season and let's evaluate them... 2-1 win vs Spurs - assist was for Alonso and it wasn't even a through ball 4-0 win vs Everton - there was the through ball for Pedro but the other was just a pass to Willian, who scored from distance 3-0 win vs Watford - okay, one through ball here 2-1 win vs Hull - assist from a free kick How is 2 through balls from 5 assists considered "so many"?

But it's still quite bizarre that he hadn't played a single minute since the restart until today. Gilmour will be a fine player for us in the future but he is still young and not playing great right now. Lampard talked about having experienced players being important in this run-in and yet Jorginho has been tossed aside completely for whatever reason.

If Lampard isn't playing Jorginho because of that, then he needs slapping. Jorginho's agent has always been a talkative bastard anyway.

To give Zouma credit, he has done well in the last 2 games but pardon me for maybe being cynical, but teams like Watford and Palace suit his game style. I don't trust him at all against the more tricky, pacey kind of attackers.

I am really, really curious about what has happened between Lampard and Jorginho. Whatever flaws Jorginho has, it is quite bizarre to see a manager who made him vice captain and praised him so much pre-pandemic to suddenly not playing him at all.

Maybe in the minority here but despite his goals since the restart, Giroud's overall performances have been underwhelming.

Even before they scored, they looked decent. They were pressing us, playing on the break, getting forward whenever possible. For a side that have nothing to play for, they have been playing with a lot more energy/intent than say Watford did the other day.

So much for Palace being on the beach...

Willian is gonna get a 5-year contract at this rate...
