  1. This. Even then, don't think they concede many from set pieces.
  2. It still seems to be an issue for many now, with the 50 million.
  3. What is sad is that people constantly moaning, crying and throwing their toys out of the pram over transfer targets. Not everyone is gonna agree on things, sure, but judging by some reactions on, say, Chilwell here, you would think we are signing someone from Fiji as opposed to an England international.
  4. It sure would have been had social media, TC etc existed back then...
  5. Why did you even mention Thiago if you said we don't even have Havertz yet? Anyway, height is just one aspect of defending set pieces. If the players don't have the balls to even defend properly, then there is no point, even if they have the height.
  6. The point is teams like Liverpool don't have that many giants either. Only Gomez, Van Dijk, Alisson and Fabinho are taller than 185 cm. The rest are lower than that and some are even around 175 cm. Man City are also another example of a so called small team in terms of height. Of course in the Premier League, we would need some tall players in the squad but we can't turn our squad into a Tony Pulis side and equally or more importantly, you want players who are physical and don't mind battling it out for the ball. We currently have some tall players in the squad but they can be a bunch of pussies in physical challenges.
  7. Take the keeper out since we don't know who that will be, the average height of the other 10 players is 179.8 cm, which is only 1 cm shorter than Liverpool's usual starting XI, excluding Alisson. And they aren't bad at defending set pieces. If anything I'd worry more about the physicality of that side as opposed to the height.
  8. In an ideal world, we would be signing someone else but we are not living in an ideal world at the moment.
  9. Putting Chilwell aside, comments like these make me wish social media had existed back in 2003 or 2004 like today because it would have been "very interesting".
  10. You may disagree with others but please, mind your language.
  11. On a side note, we really need to get our coefficient back up. It's pathetic right now, even worse than Dortmund and Shakhtar! If we're not careful, we could end up in Pot 3 soon.
  12. You're kinda late on that but yeah.
  13. Depending on who we get, it would be a MASSIVE failure if we don't get out of the group stage at the very least, especially after the summer spending.
  14. Look on the bright side, that means we won't sign Chilwell.
  15. Next season's Champions League group stage draw pots are shaping up...
  16. But coaches can also get it right all the time...
  17. He's gonna run out of top club options soon enough...
  18. Putting Chilwell aside, if Reguilon is really good as people make him out to be, why are Real Madrid not keeping him? Just wondering. Is he worse than Mendy and/or even a 32-year-old Marcelo?
