  1. What is silly is that people jumping on Pulisic's back like it's his fault that he keeps on getting injured. Am sure no one is more frustrated about the injuries than himself and he certainly didn't ask for this dodgy physical condition.
  2. That last bit about Abraham is not proven so until we actually win the title or at the very least, challenge for the title with him leading the line. He also needs to prove as well that he can be consistent at the highest level week in week out. Last season, his form fell off the cliff after the first few months and we didn't even challenge for the title, although admittedly, he was overplayed. Also, how sure are we that the team is only better when Abraham plays through the middle? How many games has Werner been used through the middle? He played there against Southampton and did well. He played there against Sevilla and at Man United but we set up to get a draw or were too defensive. And he hasn't been used through the middle since we switched to this 4-3-3, apart from the last 20 minutes at Krasnodar. It's also worth mentioning that we didn't buy Werner just to stick him out of the left every time and I don't think we'll play with 2 strikers unless we play a back 3. We need to avoid pigeonholing Werner as someone who only shines when there is space to run into. He has developed his game in the last 1-2 years - and is improving - to get more involved in buildup plays, dropping deep to link up the play, to create opportunities for others etc.
  3. Looks like we have escaped unscathed in terms of injuries from the international. Now, we just gotta pray no COVID cases from it...
  4. Injury prone is still injury prone.
  5. Newcastle will love it if we start Giroud.
  6. Tell that to the likes of Robben and Ribery...
  7. TBF, no fixed date was ever put on Pulisic's return and even more so when it's a hamstring/muscle problem. If people are constantly disappointed by the delay or how long it's taking to recover, then that's on them rather than the player etc.
  8. Not surprised Pulisic is out but thought Havertz would be fine. Maybe he will be on the bench. At least Chilwell might be fit, I guess.
  9. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11688/12135429/efl-to-allow-teams-five-substitutions-from-friday The leagues below the Premier League are going back to the 5 subs rule, starting this Friday, while the Premier League are the only ones now still with the dumb 3 subs rule.
  10. In the short term aka from next January till May, we could probably get away with Werner, Abraham and Havertz. But long term? I don't think so, not when Werner is played on the LW half of the time and Broja is not the answer. At his age, he needs to be playing week in week out to develop and not sit on the bench.
  11. Regardless of when Giroud leaves, we knew it was going to happen at some point and we're gonna need to find someone who is happy to play the backup role in January.
  12. 2 goals in a game? 2020 just got weirder.
  13. But how many minutes is the question. Will it be enough to satisfy him? Last season worked out well because there was no option apart from Abraham upfront and in some ways, we also kinda got lucky with his contract extension because the Euros was postponed and the pandemic happened.
  14. 3 starts in a row now for Unai Simon during this international break.

  16. Havertz cleared from the virus?
  17. That's one selective way of looking at things...
