There was also the element that Lampard prioritized results more than anything else when last season restarted in June. That's where Giroud benefited from the consistent selection because of his experience and partly also because he delivered the goods. But that was never going to be case this season once Lampard was able to get his players in and start to build for the future. Giroud was never going to be part of our long term plan, he was never going to be in the starting XI week in week out again. It's harsh on Giroud but unfortunately, that's the reality.

Managers have always complained about it but when have broadcasters ever listened? It's all about making $$$$$$$$$$ to them, they don't care about the players' welfare.

Do you have a Mount criticism quota to fill or something? I don't know why you're so keen to jump on Mount's back here just because of a comment Lampard made. There are things in Mount's game right now that frustrate me but considering he's still only 21 years old, some margin for error has to be given and I don't understand why you have to criticize him every time he does something bad. When he does something well, you barely say a word. When he does something bad, there's suddenly like "I told you so" posts.

Not sit here and argue about Mount's passing quality but you're being ridiculous if you use that one incident to basically say his passing quality isn't great, when every player, even the best ones, has screwed up passes like that at some point in their career.

Me, of all people, wanting Werner to fail? You talked as if Abraham doesn't make forward runs. You talked as if Abraham hasn't been among the goals himself this season. You're definitely pigeonholing or thinking too small if you believe the striker should be all about back to goal stuff. It is an option to have someone who can do that but it doesn't necessarily have to be permanent thing and how many of the other top sides around Europe even play that way with a tall, physical striker who does the back to goal work?
