  1. In 77 appearances for the club(10 as sub), Mata has 22 goals and 32 assists. In 117 appearances for Man City(14 as sub), Silva has 15 goals and 33 assists.
  2. Disagree on Benteke. He's only 22 and still a raw striker. Nowhere near a finished article yet and is unsuitable to be a ST squad player for us. If we want to get him, might as well just call back Lukaku in January. If we want a good backup striker, need to look at someone who has played a top level for a long period already.
  3. Feeling nervous about this one. After throwing away 2 chances to win trophies already this season, we really can't afford to do the same here. We have to win this!
  4. Just saw the stats in the Guardian match report. Spurs have conceded 10 goals in last 15 minutes in the league this season and thus, dropping 14 points as a result. Would have been sitting top of the table by 1 point otherwise.
  5. A decent watch that documentary but think it could have been better with the editing in terms of the shots and quotes arrangement. As for what was said of Mourinho with the praises, his coaching style, personality etc, given all the things we have heard and read about him in the past 7-8 years, don't think there were anything new about it. It felt like I was just reading Patrick Barclay's book on Mourinho all over again.
  6. Even then, did they crumble? No. They battled on and stayed in the game. We just waved the white flag in the second half. Showed no fight. No desire. Nothing.
  7. The Falcao Wankfest-O-Meter has suffered a complete meltdown tonight!
  8. Yes and let's not forget that this is his debut season in the Champions League and is only 21 y/o!
  9. We didn't lose that game because we lacked a class DM. That's just a poor excuse. We lost simply because the entire team just collapsed in the second half. No one stepped up then and looked to be counted. Everyone just folded in. Liverpool didn't have a top class DM in their team but they still managed to cope with West Ham.
  10. No clue about that. Might want to ask other Scotsman here.
  11. Still not an excuse for us from totally controlling the game and then surrendering it to West Ham. Was embarrassing!
  12. Liverpool came from behind to lead West Ham 3-2 but we somehow capitulated against them!
  13. Greetings mate. Created the thread in the wrong place. Have moved it here when new members introduce themselves to the forum. Enjoy.
  14. Has that been confirmed? Seriously hope it's not true. We are already lacking depth in the DM area and Romeu was just strating to find some sort of form.
  15. That happened against Burnley in the League Cup tie under Scolari. Drogba got banned 1-2 games after that.
  16. Yeah. We have a GD of 11. Everton - 7. Spurs - 4. West Brom - 3. Next weekend: Stoke v Everton Tottenham v Swansea West Brom v West Ham And not forgetting Arsenal, they are on 24 points at the moment. They travel to the Madejski to face Reading(again) next.
  17. at Spurs. AVB being screwed at Goodison once again. Everton deserved the win anyway. Dominated the game. Created the better chances. Those were pretty sporadic for Spurs and they got lucky with their goal. With that win. Everton move up into 4th. Spurs drop to 5th. West Brom go down to 6th. All 3 have 26 points though and they sit 3 points behind us. None of them can overtake us next weekend in the league UNLESS they rack up the goals to cover up the GD.
  18. Fair but one can't help to be frustrated by the constant luck that United seems to get in crucial moments during matches. Not just this City one but also the other. Slightly different in that Keegan's scenario when that team doesn't have the title winning experience and mentality. And yes, United blew that 8-point lead last season but cannot imagine Fergie will let history repeat itself again. Their defence and midfield may be weak but their strikeforce might just be enough to win them games and ultimately the league title. They have been clinical when they get their chances.
  19. Disagree. City had United on the back foot quite a lot in the second half but was let down by their final passes and being thwarted by De Gea. United still attacked but hardly created any chances. Apart from Van Persie's shot that hit the bar, they didn't really test Joe Hart a lot. United just took the chances that came their way. They will but how many will they drop? United are conceding lots of goals but being saved every single time by their strikers. That would be the difference if they win the league this season.
  20. So, United have won away at 3 tough PL grounds this season through luck! vs Liverpool(A) = Valencia dived to win the penalty. Van Persie(IIRC) scored and United won 2-1. vs Chelsea(A) = Hernandez scored from an offside position but goal given and United won 3-2. vs Man City(A) = Got a free kick, Van Persie scored via a deflection and United won 3-2. Typical.
  21. If anyone is interested, Sanfrecce Hiroshima is playing Al Ahly in the quarter finals right now. The winner of that clash will face Corinthians in the other semi final.
  22. Oscar has scored 5 goals in this season's Champions League. Only Drogba, Anelka and Tore Andre Flo have scored more in 1 Champions League season for the club. Drogba scored 6 goals in 06/07, 07/08 and 11/12 season. Anelka netted 7 in 10/11 season. And Flo scored 8 goals back in the 99/00 season.
  23. Ooh right. Accidentally left out the goal he scored yesterday. Thanks for pointing that out. Have edited the original post.
