As Amels said there, we would have lost this game by more than just a goal if it wasn't for Cech(and some poor finishing from Shakhtar).

He was DEFINITELY at fault for their second goal. Common sense not to be over-elaborating especially when you have 2-3 players surrounding you in those areas!

If we had decent striker on, instead of Torres, the game against Shakhtar could have been so different. It's game like those, where little chances are created, that we need our striker to be clinical when they are being presented with one! But noooo. Torres fluffed 1-2 really good chances when the old Torres would have scored and went behaving all pussy.

So much for the "must get AT LEAST 4 points against Shakhtar"! Take nothing away from Shakhtar tonight. They were excellent. We were poor. Only bright side is Juventus drew and we lost 2-1. The return fixture against Shakhtar is an absolute MUST win now. A 1-0 win would be enough to send us top of the group. Anything else and it will be a disaster especially when we have go to Juventus on Matchday 5. And hopefully, this will serve as a wake up call for the team ahead of the match against United after the recent run of form.

Have no major complains about the lineup. Understandable starting XI away from home in Europe and against an in-form Shakhtar. Can't go all gung-ho and risk losing defeat when we cannot afford to lose tonight.

Deserves a warning for posting a fake lineup!

Feeling nervous about this one. Just couldn't stress the importance of avoiding defeat here enough.

That and after throwing away the last two trophies available, we do not want to be doing the same with this as well. We should really be aiming to win this trophy because it's one that we haven't won and we do not want to go all the way to Japan just to make up the numbers!

United may not play that way though. I'm sure they would have noticed the problems we have had dealing with crosses against Norwich and Spurs.

True. He is a bit dodgy and after all, he was the referee that thought it was OK for Rooney to elbow McCarthy(or was it McCarthur?) at Wigan 2-3 years ago.
