Luiz may have gone a tad OTT today but are you suddenly saying that he's not calm because of this one incident? Generally, he's not a volatile or an angry person to berate a referee every time. And really, don't think we should suddenly act as if every captain should be cool, calm and collected at all times on the pitch especially with the high stakes out there on the pitch. Generally they should but there will be times where the players react angrily to referee particularly when they see the amount of decisions that we should have gotten but didn't. Moreover, every captain, at every club will react and/or respond angrily to a referee at one point or another in their career, like it or not. Even here, the likes of Terry, Lampard and Drogba have all reacted angrily a referee before and I don't see anyone then saying they shoudn't be captain of the club. To say Luiz should not be a captain because of this one particularly incident, when he's generally a calm person, is just non-sensical.

Keep blowing his lid off? You mean getting pissed off at Webb today? Has he actually been getting angry at others refs previously? Today is like the first time where he actually got really pissed at a referee and while I agree that he should have calmed down a bit, you can't really fault a player when they get that angry in a game of high stakes where we desperately need to win.

It's the 1st time they failed to score at OT in the Premier League since December 2009 where they lost 1-0 to Aston Villa. We ended their all-time PL record of scoring in 66 consecutive home matches with this shut-out (and win!).

I know we have won without Mikel today (again) but is there any need to actually suddenly bring him into the equation here and say our fine run of form has been down to his absence?! While that maybe the case, no one can say that "Oh, we are winning games because Mikel is not playing" UNTIL he actually returns and play a run of games where we see how our results go then. Too easy to say we have been on a good run recently because of his absence now when the probable fact is, the other players could just be getting themselves up, putting in that extra 10-15% into their bodies, in this long and tiring season, to ensure we achieve our objectives in this final run of games!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMMrgqSJNAE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmPXhxqiBuY Fair play to Benitez for batting away the last question about rumours linking with him Schalke. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9MKdPGJMXE Was thinking "Fair play to Fergie" when he said we deserved the win...until he starts talking about the referee saying United never got any decisions going their way and we surrounded the ref all day! That is so typical of him!

That is just simply one massive and priceless win. The overall performance was average (and so was United really) and we looked clueless in the final third, again. Having said that, the win is all that matters now. Another 3 points against Spurs on Wednesday will seal our place in the Top 4 though avoiding defeat is very important!
-
An average performance so far. United playing around casually. We can win here if we up the tempo and overall performance. Only bright side is it's still 0-0 at HT, for once against United at OT.

Which one is you Tom?

No girls at all? Get Kez, francozola, BluesChick, Martina all on here!

Fergie is flooding the midfield this time, playing 5 across the midfield and it looks like a 4-3-3. And surprised to see Lampard starting. Been poor in last 2 visits to OT and was even subbed at HT in those 2 matches. Hope Lampard can redeem himself and help us to win this game.

Would awkward and funny if Gotze scores the winner in the Champions League final.

This is basically what I was saying earlier. Those players may sound as if they like Benitez but really some of the things they have said about him is basically just the truth in terms of some improvement we have made under Benitez, even if we don't like to admit it. They are just stating the facts and what is apparent. And Mata said this last Wednesday in the pre-match press conference. Regarding what Azpi said there, I have seen the media asked that question before where they just inquire the players on what Benitez has done differently. We may not like the supposed positive comments about him but they are probably just speaking their mind and it's the truth. As I said previously, I don't think we can really deny some of the improvements we have made under Benitez, even if we all don't like to admit it. RDM may have succeeded in making us good defensively last season but he didn't achieve that this season. We have brought in new attacking talents but we were a mess defensively and tactically. Under Benitez, we might not have played good football all the time but the most important first is that he made us defended better as a team. He has to find the right balance for the team due to the imbalance nature of the squad we have. If we can't defend properly and letting in cheap goals, then we aren't going to win many games. All about ensuring we are solid at the back and build from there. As for what Cech said about Mourinho, I believe he was just responding to the question about the stories on Mourinho returning. Yes, he could have said like what you pointed out there but given it looks as if Mourinho will be returning and Benitez is leaving after all anyway. Don't get me wrong though. I don't defending Benitez here or anything like that but I just do not get the fuss about some of the players have suddenly turned into a Benitez loyalist just because of some standard comments players would normally say about a manager. If someone else say Turnbull, Benayoun or even Marin said such things, would people actually even bother much about this? People are just making this an issue because of the players we all like have apparently become loyal to Benitez, which isn't the case at all.

An Arsenal fan reaction earlier to Bale's goal on Twitter... Then, after Walcott scored against QPR... but at the same time, WTF!

Investigative journalism. Not saying the news is true here but journalists can always find it out by getting such info from personals close to Roman.

He sounds just like Harry Redknapp with that typical "I could have signed him" comment....

Look like Wenger to me with that white hair.

Small detail but think some of you already know that Benfica will face Porto away next Sunday, just 3 days before the EL final and they need only 4 points from last 3 games to win the title. Well, Porto have won today which means Benfica can't win the title this weekend and they would have to field a relatively strong side in that game next weekend.
-
Think the killer part is actually throwing away those 2-0 leads against Southampton and Reading. With that additional 4 points, we would have been sitting 4 clear of Spurs right now, 2 ahead of Arsenal and just 3 points behind Man City.

So, you're basically indicating there that the player voluntarily praised Benitez in interviews etc? Thinking your feelings on Benitez is making this an issue when it isn't one. I don't recall reading and/or listening to our players mentioning Benitez's name all of a sudden in interviews. If the interviewer/journalist asks something about Benitez, then they will speak about him. If not, they do not talk about him and just answer the question as it is. That's the general problem really. Because we all hate Benitez so much, some people become sensitive and assume that the likes of Mata, Azpi, Luiz etc have turned into a Benitez loyalist based on just simple diplomatic response when there is nothing more than just that, a diplomatic response.

A message from the Dortmund fans to Gotze.
