There was actually. Fans chanted his name during the game especially in the 1st half.

*gulp* Yup. Jorge Jesus has said their main priority is the league and I'm sure they'll want to win the title at their arch rivals place to rub it in. And I'm sure Benfica don't want to lose there and suffer any potentila jitters/slip ups in the final game. Just hope Porto win their game this weekend.

Win the game? Get to the final? Ramires, Luiz & Bertrand avoid YC? Only downside is Lampard didn't his goal but overall, job well done despite some spiky moments in the game especially in the first half. Onwards to Amsterdam! :blue scalf:

Some stats to throw in... 1. Chelsea have played Benfica twice in European competitions (2011/12 Champions League QF) and won both matches. 3-1 on aggregate. 2. Chelsea have won 6, drawn 1 and lost 1 against Portuguese oppositions in European competitions. 3. Rafa Benitez has faced Jorge Jesus's Benfica previously in the 09/10 Europa League SF. Lost 2-1 in the first leg away from home before winning 4-1 in the return home leg. 4. Rafa Benitez's overall record against Benfica in Europe - P4 W1 L3.

The club need to revise the goal of the season shortlist. Like really!

Benfica v Chelsea in the Europa League final on 15th May (Wednesday) at the Amsterdam Arena. Match kicks off at 7.45pm UK time. Jorge Jesus and Benfica (again) in the final it is then. Ramires & Luiz vs Benfica and Matic vs Chelsea again. Reunion. And oh, I HATE Jorge Jesus! Will go mad hearing his stupid rants against us again. On a more important note, would really love it, for once, we don't mess up yet another cup final & throw the chance to win a trophy, again.
-
Great, no Mikel! Don't like it that Luiz and Ramires have to play this one. And it's their 10th consecutive start! Hope we can kill the tie off early and take them off ahead of 2 massive upcoming games.

Lampard moves closer to Chelsea exit after fiance Bleakley agrees to LA move HA! Now we get that story.

Everton might not have a good squad as Arsenal but to go 10/11 years without even winning 1 trophy like the League Cup and FA Cup is mind boggling especially when you see lesser clubs such Birmingham and Swansea have won at least a trophy in the League Cup during that period. And not to mention, Everton have had some good team down the years as well and they are better than those 2 said teams.
-
And Bertrand. Hoping Luiz and Ramires won't play in this one. They have started tons of games recently and need a rest especially with 2 massive games coming up after this for us.

Yes while that may be the case, Wenger is no Mourinho. Had Mourinho been managing that Arsenal squad, they would not have gone 8 years without a trophy. Anyway regarding stability, I know many people have pointed out that Wenger and even Moyes have managed their respective clubs for yonks and have won nothing in recent years and such longevity/stability doesn't exist anymore but think what we would just want is for a manager to stay for at least 3-5 years, build a proper stable team and move us forward. Don't think anyone is really crying for a manager to stay here for more than 10 yes etc because that is unlikely gonna happen in today's modern game and while sacking managers in past years have still brought us success in terms of trophies, don't tell me you are not sick and feeling tired of the constant sacking and replacing managers like almost every year? Furthermore, sacking managers may have brought us continuous success but it has proved to be a problem when it comes to intergrating players from the academy into the first team. Because of this short term mentality we have with the managers that they have to constantly be winning trophies or otherwise they will be sacked the minute something goes wrong, the managers are unable to bring in the youth players and utilize them in the 1st team as they are constantly under pressure to win games and trophies. A little bit of stability, something like 3-5 years perhaps, moving the team/club forward even without winning trophy for 1-2 season wouldn't kill, would it?

Don't even think he would join us given he still loves Liverpool.

The Telegraph and Independent have apparently reported Mourinho doesn't mind working with Emenalo. And... José Mourinho wants Chelsea job even if they are in the Europa League I so do not believe that.
