Not sure how we lost this game really. This was like the reversal of the game on Wednesday. We created tons of chances but only scored 3 goals when we should have netted in more. City didn't create much and basically converted almost every opportunity they got. And oh, nice to see Torres handled the pressure of being captain very well...

Roma v Lazio in the Coppa Italia final tonight at 5pm UK time. Gonna be feisty!
-
Don't necessarily disagree with that but think Cole has little bit more of that X-factor about him than Benayoun, which would have been useful in games.

Shame it didn't end well for Dortmund last night. They have been brilliant throughout the Champions League this season and would arguably be a deserving winner. Anyway, congrats to Bayern for winning the competition. Been sensational all season. Jurgen Klopp is a legend. Everything about him is brilliant, from his words to his celebrations to his youthful exuberance character. He's a great quote machine and will be someone the English media would like if he were to come to England one day.
-
Would be funny if Unai Emery's Sevilla beat Valencia on the last day and prevent them from finishing 4th. A revenge for sacking him.
-
Well, at least this will stop the rubbish and annoying 'Neymar to Chelsea' stories! And will lock this thread a bit later, giving people time to react and post his transfer to Barcelona.
-
I honestly don't get why is Lewandowski so desperate to go to Bayern. He has won everything there is to win in Germany and how much really can he improve himself in an environment and a team that is gonna dominate Bundesliga. He would be gaining so much more by going elsewhere.

Yes but as I said, we are all guilty of doing the same. Had Sam continued doing what he did from there, then the outcome here would have been different. But isn't that the problem here? Just because they are not Essien, doesn't mean Torres, Benayoun, Benitez etc deserve to receive the abuse/insult they have been getting. People are all getting a tad worked up because it's Essien and someone we like. Like really, if people can dish out abuse/insult or post negative points about players they don't like, then they should be able to take some on the players they like and not moan at the first sight of it!
-
Let's not act like everyone is innocent here when the likes of Torres, Benayoun, Benitez etc have all received the same treatment in their time with the club. Sam didn't explain his reasons for his supposed hate on Essien in his first post but eventually got into to it. And there is a bloody difference between insulting and being aggressive here.
-
Record against Man City this season (in Community Shield, PL, FA Cup & Friendlies) - P6 D1 L5. Reportedly 5 million Euros.
-
Admittedly, his first post about Essien 2 pages ago didn't start off very well but after that he has not really used any abusive words in his argument even though he was aggressive with it.
-
Well done Ron 'Money Making Machine' Gourlay... Will add the full details into the 1st post once the club put it up.
-
What Sam said may not be right but it's a different case altogether when abusing/insulting other member(s) And don't need to stoke up anymore fires than it already has.
-
Can we just stop it with the insults like the one below?! If you guys are gonna argue/debate/discuss, then do so properly for goodness sake!
-
Pretty good. But the one bad thing about it is the audio. It's interfering with the match commentary and sounds annoying.
-
Honestly, watching games against City these days are getting more and more painful and pathetic. Getting dominated all the time. Can't handle their off the ball movements. Kamikaze play and defending. Concede cheap, soft, poor goals. The players usually don't look bothered at all. We have been making it so so easy for City every time.
-
Debate, discussion, argument whatever you want to call it, just drop it.
-
OK. Enough with the debate/argument! Go continue it somewhere else. Get back on topic!
-
Gotta love those assumptions from people who assumes Mourinho will return, revert back to old times and just put Terry (maybe so as he's still the captain), Lampard, Essien etc into the starting XI. Someone like Mourinho is not silly and will be able to recognize they are not the players they once were.
-
OK. Think it's Valencia and not Benfica who are participating in the tournament as mentioned in their Twitter account.
-
Pretty sure most of you, if not all, by now would know that we are having our next season's pre-season in Asia with 3 matches to be played in the continent. 1. vs Singha All-Stars - in Bangkok on 17th July at 2pm UK time. 2. vs Malaysia XI - in Kuala Lumpur on 21st July at 2.45pm UK time. 3. vs BNI Indonesia All Stars - in Jakarta on 25th July at 2pm UK time. NOW news have come that we would also be playing in United States (again) in a 8-team International Champions Cup tournament along with AC Milan, Everton, Juventus, Inter Milan, LA-Galaxy, Real Madrid and Benfica (or Valencia) from 27th July to 8th August. The news is yet to be announced by the club but Everton have done so. And here's the competition's website - http://internationalchampionscup.com/. Can find out more details (sort of) in them. Everton said Benfica are participating in the tournament but the website says Valencia. And think it's Valencia as stated on their Twitter account. All in all, we are playing in this yet for more money. Already having our pre-season in Asia and now we facing these teams all the way in US. Flogging the players to death even before the season starts. Brilliant. Just brilliant! P.S. Will post the club's announcement once they announced it.

Chelsea will face Bayern Munich in the 2013 UEFA Super Cup on 30th August (Friday) at Eden Arena, Prague.
-
Think it's fairly noticeable that most here do not have Terry and Lampard in their choice of starting XI. And this would lead to the question (again), who will be our next captain. Will be interesting to see what Mourinho (or whoever that manager is) does with this situation.
