Think that is overstating things. It was a good shot, not a bad shot but a decent shot and one that I think Courtois should do better after watching the replay. It wasn't THAT powerful like you're making it out. Otherwise, he did alright over the course of the game.

Why wouldn't he anyway?

The points mentioned in the first post are not necessarily wrong but whether the board has done a really good job depends in a certain way. As it is, yeah, one can say the board has done well in getting 100m from selling 3 non-first team players in De Bruyne, Mata and Luiz and in the process, getting us a hefty profit when the price we bought team at are taken into account. On the other hand, one could also say the board is paying its price for the constant sacking of managers in the past few years. They had a clear thought of what they want the team to be like and/or playing and bought certain kind of players (including the sillyness of flocking the team with like 100 AMs!) and even wanted/hired specific managers to implement that. In the end, that failed and we got a manager that doesn't necessarily complement with that and having to sell those players and get in new ones to build the team again (even if it brought profit). This is without mentioning the fact that board was only interested in getting AMs, mostly, and failed to fix the apparent problems that have been evident for years (till now!) even if we got 1-2 gems along the way.

It probably shouldn't be at all though I won't be surprised if this notion were to be thrown up at some point during next season. It's arguably quite an overused word and something people fall back on when things don't go well.

Can't be helped you know. Am an old man here and having to take care of kitties!

Should have offered PSG a 'buy 1, free 1'. Buy Luiz for 50m, get Torres for free.

Imagine, just imagine, if we suddenly spend a huge chunk of this money on Paulinho.....

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/23/luke-shaw-world-cup-england-southampton-brazil?CMP=twt_gu Shaw interview in the Guardian. Decent read.

Luke Shaw considering options after deal to Manchester United stalls

Torres actually outlasted Mata and Luiz at the club...

Not exactly in the boat of 'Luiz out' here but if the 50m figure mentioned is true, then it's quite hard to turn it down. Though I question PSG's stupidity to overpay for a player that isn't worth that amount and limit their spending power after being hit by the FFP fine recently. TBF, it's just the same article as the one posted on Plains of Almeria and a member posted in here few days ago. It's not like they wrote another completely different article arguing against selling Luiz.

Evra has just signed a one year extension to stay at United. Could affect their pursuit of Shaw..

Does anyone have any link to the video or audio of those interviews? His way of saying the aforementioned comments would make things clearer. For all we know, both Mourinho and Eto'o are probably laughing about this right now though if not, it's really silly two grown up men bickering over something like this in the media...

Mourinho's interview after he became the ambassador for the WFP. Has a mention of Arsenal too...

If that happens, #PrayForChooChoo.

Or maybe they just have nothing better to do...? Just moaning from my perspective only anyway. Not saying they shouldn't do it at all.
-
People are missing the point. All I said was the irony in Mourinho's comments where he said one thing but does another. It just felt silly he kinda backed himself into a corner by saying he won't do A but does just that (maybe as I said previously that was just mentioned as part of his attack on Benitez). That's all, just on the comment alone. His subsequent actions is beside the point.
-
Regardless, the point is he was used in midfield. The Stoke game I referred to was the league one and against Norwich, he came on at HT to replace Lampard in the pivot. All that being said, it wasn't my point to begin with anyway.

The Belgian lads really do need some PR training...
-
TBF, Mourinho has used Luiz in midfield against the likes of Hull, Stoke, Palace and Norwich as well. So, it's not always the big games where he's only being used there. Have no issues with Luiz being used in midfield but just the ironic situation with what he said. Then again, Mourinho probably just said what he did because he targeted Benitez back then, as Fernando alluded to previously but had other thoughts in mind.

Education is overrated.
-
Before. He conversed with Mourinho back in March, according to that article. Mind, it's only a possibility of Bamford being the 3rd choice ST. Nothing is decided yet but Mourinho and the club do seem to like him. May well have a future at the club.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/21/patrick-bamford-derby-county-qpr-chelsea Pretty good interview of Bamford in the Guardian. Seems like Mourinho and the club have plans for him next season to possibly have him as the 3rd choice ST.

But some more than others.
