I understand why Martinez is not happy with this transfer saga but goodness me, he sure likes to moan a lot and does he realise that by moaning so much, he's practically keeping the Stones story in the news? True but just because Mourinho is the manager and knows more, it doesn't mean he's always right (especially in regards to integrating youth players where his record has been poor). He is human after all...

Pretty sure he was referring to matches when he mentioned the 10 minutes thing. You won't know how well they will or can do until you put them in real situations, not training, practice etc. Can't exactly compare this with job interviews or talent auditions.

Yeah but only 10 minutes for a youth player to prove their mental strength? That's nonsense really. So, if someone has the talent but so happens have a dodgy match in his first appearance (or some other factors go against them), then Mourinho is just going to say/decide 'Ok, he's not good enough'? Since you're a coach, I'm sure you can understand why people are having issues with him grooming young players and especially after he said he needs only 10 minutes to see whether a player is good or not.

Costa was actually also doubtful before the home game against Swansea last season but he was able to play and we all know what happened after that.

Honestly, that is probably the most frustrating thing about Mourinho - his stubbornness and lack of trust when it comes to using youth players. It's one-way management from him really - he expects them to do all the work to prove they are good enough (which is fair) but he doesn't return the favor by putting faith and belief in them. To say 10 minutes is enough to judge whether one is good or bad is ludicrous. How can he expect someone to showcase their ability in just 10 minutes?! It's like he expects them to score a hat-trick or it's curtains for them. He is so obsessed with success that is he's not willing to deal with the ups and downs of integrating youth players into the first team.
