Haven’t looked into it myself but I did wonder how it managed to fall through so late, would have been a great signing for them. fax machine saga strikes again.

Rumblings of Bayern getting fed up of Tuchel and his moaning about transfers. Comedically run in the last few years imo. Pot kettle….

Caught up on the match now and I have to say talk about one step forward four back, I cannot see any positive other than some decent link up play here and there. I also do not understand this three at the back lark, Chilly actually performs worse. Caicedo is has been absolutely shocking and I genuinely hope it’s a lack of fitness and crap preseason. Doesn’t have the all round combative style that he was known for at Brighton at all, lazy lax passes.

Didn’t have time to catch the second half, any summary? Actual summary, not a one word shit show 😆

Reading that we slashed our yearly wage bill by £140m, great work.

From what I’ve seen so far, I’d keep Conor, said it before that he’s improved from where he was, what’s wrong with that? We seem to give others patience? You can look back through my posts where I lambast him during the Tuchel stint etc as well, so I haven’t always had this stance. Every good team needs their squad members and who is to say he wouldn’t be content? Why are people so readily willing to take £45m? If it was us, we’d be quoted £70m+

Having Mudryk go anywhere would be a travesty and it’d come back to bite us. Grealish got a year and a bit to settle at City but Mudryk can’t get six months coming from another league? Do me a favour.

Why would we ever play Cucu when he has agreed terms with United? Do we want to have United back out of the deal or what?

Penalty ffs

wrong thread fgs.

Really, Palmer. Hope to be wrong but Jesus that is a.. real odd one. I always ask myself when big club to club transfers take place, within circumstance, why are they letting him go?
-
I imagine so it justifies keeping Maatsen for backup.

The standard of refereeing for the ‘best’ league in the world is shocking, if any of us performed this way week in week out at our day jobs we’d be sacked.

Love how the commentary completely washes over the Saka dive in the first half that got Raul booked. 2-1 Arsenal

Stupid lunge, Arsenal pen

Shocked that he hasn't gone to Saudi to be honest.
-
The polar opposite of preseason in terms of work ethic and team cohesion, shocked. Raheem though, electric for most of the match.
-
Disasi absolutely worries me, moves like he’s in reverse.
-
Wrong thread.

Toney would be a great signing, been an advocate of him for a while now, yes he comes with controversy.. but we’re Chelsea, we seem to attract it 😪 regardless, he is a solid solid player.
-
Unreal, it must be a seriously good deal ie. Obligation to buy at X or essentially we end up with a depreciating asset for another year then try to flog him to Saudi, again.

Paqueta shouldn't have even been on the field and its the second game, a day later I'm still annoyed about the lineup and performance after 65-70th minute but at the end of the day, taking a step back, I was happy with the attacking flow yesterday once we settled, its just annoying that we have some glaringly weak areas. We've spent a ton, we all know that, we're paying for previous mistakes as well, at a massive premium. Hope that the debut hasn't affected Moises too much to be honest.

Twitter saying potentially out for 6 months, take with a pinch of salt.

Emotion out of the end of the game now, still feeling the same as previous post, albeit with a touch of reality kicking in for the likes of the makeup of our team. Yes we’ve spent horrendous amounts, to fix prior judgement errors and to speed up this ‘blue model’ way of running the club. Looking at our squad we are still glaringly short on options in some areas but we’ve also made some terrible decisions today, granted Moises looked horrendous, so I can get onboard with Poch not starting him after seeing him in training, Lavia, too. That also means we didn’t want to go for a four at the back away from home, sadly. However, there are also a ton of positives and I’m disappointed we have to live with this loss for a week until the next game but absolutely onboard with the positives: - Raheem, finally playing to his strengths and hopefully it sticks, previous he tried far too hard at being slow and creative, no, push the ball past the opponent and turn the burners on. - Jackson, tried hard absolutely and was let down by our midfield/wingers, then when he actually wasn’t on the very few occasions, his touch deserted him, trying his best though. - Colwill, distribution and coming out of defence improved toward the last bit of the first half and into the second. - Enzo, doing Enzo things. - Gusto, very adept replacement and thank God we have him, if we had a Giroud to be on the end of his crosses it’d be golden. - Carney, I slated him before his goal, it’s a shame because he had a good little spell then reality hits us, get on the mend soon.
