  1. Yep, really disappointing stuff from John. As captain he should know better, he should be easily capable of controlling his emotions. It's a shame that he'll miss the final given all he's done for us, but truth be told, he made his bed and we shouldn't feel sorry for him.
  2. Bosingwa has a great record against the best wingers around. He lifts his game several notches when he's up against them, shame he's not arsed when he's facing the Victor Moses' of the world.
  3. I think so, as well the stars have aligned for us. Some say we've been lucky this year, but some credit must go to our defence for forcing the opposition to miscue their shots just slightly enough for the post/Cech to bail us out. This contrasts with Moscow when I was thinking more along the lines of the stars being aligned for United.
  4. That's what you get for drinking XXXX. That northern crap Have you been bingeing or something?
  5. I'm going to watch the Manchester Derby with a couple of my United supporting mates. It will be the first time I've ever watched a game at a pub, hoping for a pretty good atmosphere and a 4-4 draw!
  6. Why, warnie?! I'm already incredibly superstitious about football, you've just made it worse
  7. Its really easy to pick up actually. English is quite similar to German, in fact it its classified as a Germanic language, and unlike French/Italian/Spanish there's rarely any difficult to pronounce accent characters.
  8. It's nearly a month away, I think Luiz and Cahill will be fine. If we are at full strength it will most likely be something like this: There are a few things that can be different though. Essien may not play at all, so it would be Kalou-Mata-Sturridge and Lampard partnering Mikel; or the same thing except with Malouda instead of Essien. Also, Paulo Ferreira may play instead of Bosingwa.
  9. It really is. Congratulations to the mods and the posters to have created such a great atmosphere around here
  10. I heard it looked like Zidane's volley in 2002
  11. I heard yesterday that Britain has slid back into recession. Tough times, hope you guys can ride it out
  12. The money offered was probably too hard to refuse. We recouped nearly all we spent on him.
  13. You are to Australia what Queensland is to New South Wales Just kidding, we all like our cousins from across the 'Dutch'
  14. Hi! I took German for 4 years in high school, what do you think of this: Tag! Ich weiss Deutsch, aber nicht sehr gut. Ich gelernt Deutsch in der Realschule.
  15. How good is Boateng? Kroos and Schweinsteiger are absolute class, Tymoschuk was pretty good when he was younger as well. I think Bayern will comfortably control the midfield because we're missing two of our best harassers in Meireles and Ramires, Mikel doesn't quite cut it as that style of midfielder.
  16. That nearly, very nearly, made it my third time. I cried after Australia beat Uruguay on penalties in 2005 to seal qualification, and after our 8-0 win over Wigan.
  17. I dunno. I kinda preferred the defiant feeling that Ramires' goal gave me, a feeling of fuck the odds, we are Chelsea Football Club and we'll never go down without a fight. That it came in probably our darkest period of the match, where most of us if not all were thinking we'd be lucky to keep the scoreline respectable also made it more powerful for me. But, each to his own. Torres goal was brilliant as well
  18. I'm surprised so many of you found the Torres goal to be more emotionally powerful than Rambo's. I nearly broke the light in my living room after that Whereas the Torres goal just gave me so much relief, a kinda "YESSS, THANK FUCK WE'RE THROUGH" feeling rather than "HAVE SOME OF THAT YOU BASTARDS" which is what Rambo's did to me.
  19. Because we're nice? This is probably the friendliest football forum I've ever read. Apart from the odd argument over one of the 3 scapegoats, Kalouda and Mikel, there's never any unpleasantness on here Mind, any posters that support Liverpool probably wouldn't be warmly received.
  20. Feeling like a Chelsea fan then? Seriously, I hope you feel better now
  21. Agreed. The Australian summer is loathsome, its suicidal to leave the house after 8 am. Only good thing about it is cricket
  22. We'll see who's laughing come Origin time. I don't care about rugby and I probably prefer QLD to NSW in Origin anyway More seriously, Queensland really is awesome. I was on holiday in Cairns once, lovely place.
  23. I think I'll go with Ramires, Drogba's goal was brilliant and rolled back the years, but to have the bollocks to try something like that in those circumstances, and then to celebrate so nonchalantly as if to say "What's the big deal? I do that all the time" was brilliant.
  24. There's a dilemma for me. Drogba can outmuscle anybody in the world, so second rate defenders should be no problem, but van Buyten has all the speed and agility of an oil tanker, so perhaps a smaller, more agile player could really wreak havoc? At any rate I think we are favourites going into this one. Their three big attacking players are suspect, as I've said before, Scarface and Robben absolutely hate each other with a passion so consuming that it hopefully disturbs their ability, and Gomez only delivers on the big occasion rarely. Cahill and Luiz are in fantastic form, and Cech recently has been playing well enough for him to join Neuer at the top of the goalkeeper's list. Cole can shut down Scarface or Robben, the problem will be right back. We'll probably lose the midfield battle and concede 55-60% possession, but I'm still confident that their defensive losses will prove decisive in the tie and Drogba shall go out on a high.
