  1. No you can't, I've been to Cairns Nice place, the Indigenous community there were very friendly.
  2. Kalou-Mata-Torres -------Drogba------- Torres works as hard as Malouda and offers a bit more going forward; and we can bring on Sturridge for Drogba if things aren't going well to capitalise on already slow, now even slower as a result of fatigue defenders.
  3. Also, I think we should play Essien and Drogba. Give them the home send off they deserve.
  4. I think we're better suited to holding a lead than chasing it. It won't be a rout, though.
  5. All I've seen of Pedro is that he can shoot fairly well, and Sanchez can dribble and dive fairly well. The final argument is that all those wingers were kept anonymous for 30 minutes with Kalou miles out of position at right back. And why do you insist on bringing up member of the month every single time you see a post I make? This is all unnecessary, anyway. The point stands that he is the only viable option for this match in his position, therefore it is far from a disgrace that he has to start. If you want to talk disgrace, talk about Ivanovic and Ramires getting booked for dissent. Had they both held their tongue then there would be no need for Kalou to play at all.
  6. How so? He's better than Pedro, Tello, Cuenca, Sanchez and all that wank that Barcelona used as wingers against us. He's also better than Malouda and offers much more defensively in a game like this than Sturridge. There's always space in any game for a hard working player. And you must agree that we simply have nobody else to play, especially if Bosingwa is at right back. What will be a disgrace is failure to start Drogba or starting Essien.
  7. Hi It's okay, we will sign Messi this summer
  8. A potential solution to the contract issue could be performance based incentives. Let's say, he stays on his current wage of (sorry for speculating ) 60-65,000 a week, but is given a bonus of 20,000 every time he completes 90 minutes and a further 20,000 every time he scores a goal or gets an assist.
  9. Much the same. Kalou is not a 6 figure player. But most speculation places his demands at 80k, which even I feel is a bit extortionate. If you came to me and said Kalou wants 100k a week, I would question you, but 80 seems to fall in line with what many members and media outlets have arrived at. I feel the Sturridge situation is much the same, except we actually can make some money off him this summer while we can't off Kalou.
  10. No, that figure was deduced from the fact that he wanted 75k 4 years ago, (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-city/5123641/Manchester-City-hand-Daniel-Sturridge-final-contract-offer.html) when he was a new kid on the block. Now he will have convinced himself 4 years on that he deserves a rise, and especially since he had a very good 2011 at Bolton and with us; he deserves that 6 figure mark. And if he hasn't, his agent certainly will have.
  11. http://www.dailymail...-Sturridge.html 65,000 a week he's currently earning; other articles reckon Man City will offer him more than 100k. He's got to be angling for something above what he's currently on. He rejected Man City in 2009 for not offering him 75,000 a week, 100 sounds like a nice even number. Perhaps 90, but I doubt someone who wanted 75,000 at 18 years of age would settle for less than 6 figures at 22. This is not about form. It's about him and his agent fuelling the idea in his head that he deserves that kind of money, which, apart from perhaps 6-8 members of our current squad, no one else deserves.
  12. He won't financially, at least. A guy with an ego like that, coupled with an unscrupulous agent, if anything he'll start asking for 120k.
  13. Unfortunately, we were not present at the interview and as far as I know, no video of it exists. So we cannot know for sure if it was unconvincing or if the Sun is making it up.
  14. Next season? He wants 100k a week. And he's got one year left. He either takes 60k now or we sell him in the summer. We can't let someone like him walk away for free, nor can we pay 100k a week for him, either.
  15. Will be a minimum of 8, they can't win until 2013.
  16. It's going to be eight years without a trophy, they can't win one until February 2013 at the earliest. Eight! Perhaps Florent Malouda's 'seven' celebration is just a count of how many years its been since the French up the road have won a trophy
  17. http://www.thesun.co...a-n-Torres.html My word. Such arrogance from someone who's scored 20 league goals in 5 years. To be fair to him, though, such confidence would be brilliant if he had a head screwed the right way, which he unfortunately doesn't.
  18. He's a spoilt brat. Send him down for a few months with the reserves. See if that makes him act a little better. I know he is (was) very highly thought of round these parts, so I know my stance won't be popular, but I don't see anything wrong with it. If he doesn't learn now, he'll continue thinking he's hot shit and be turning out for Cheltenham Town by the time he's 30.
  19. Sturridge has one, why not Kalou?
  20. No, we'd honestly struggle to win it full strength. It's probably a tougher competition than the CL for a big club as there's distractions, plus complacency and the fact that most players aren't arsed.
