  1. As I said on the night it all happened, legend or not, you can't bloody well sack the manager for no other reason than lack of game time.
  2. I still haven't flipped. Still rather angry at Lampard et al.
  3. I hope he never plays for Chelsea. Wanker.
  4. I just heard the news. Shocking, really shocking. The video nearly moved me to tears. Good luck and get well soon Fabrice. I was too young to understand Marc Vivien-Foe's death; now I see how people must have felt back in 2003.
  5. Hi You should give some thought to changing your avatar, its the exact same as another members. Had me confused a bit there.
  6. One huge disadvantage is this potential semi-final with Barcelona. We'll have to hope AC Milan can beat them, its much more difficult to be attacking at the Camp Nou without conceding a few in the process, and if we're more attacking at the Bridge they could grab an away goal or two and end the tie.
  7. Oh dear. It doesn't look like a repeat of our relationship with Napoli's fans is on the cards.
  8. How I wish it would be 2009 again. The worst defender (Bosingwa) in the world keeping the best attacker in the world in his pocket and Drogba bullying the shit out of Barcelona's ball playing defenders.
  9. Inb4 Ovrebo makes a comeback from retirement to inspire Barcelona to one more famous victory.
  10. It's far easier to beat Barcelona over 2 legs than in 1 final. Primarily because you can use one of the legs as an all out defensive effort, similar to what United did in 2008 and what we did in 2009 in Barcelona. If you can come away with a 0-0 you can be a bit more expansive in the return leg; but in a one off game you have to go at them and that makes the task much harder. If we had to face them I'd take the semi finals as the best possible time to face them.
  11. All time: Pele and Eusebio Current: Kalou Chelsea: Probably Makelele, although I like nearly everyone who's played for our club
  12. Any chance you can translate some of that for us? Looks an interesting read
  13. I dunno, I got my stats off the UEFA website. 15 km is somewhat amazing, thats 75 runs up and down the pitch.
  14. Apparently his dislike of English football stems from the Heysel disaster.. where he of course was playing for Juventus.
  15. Just answered my own question. Surprisingly, Mata ran the most out of any of our players, 11.5 km. Essien 'only' managed 10.3 km.
  16. Essien must have shed a few kilos tonight. Does anyone have stats on the distance he covered?
  17. Thats great and all but he's not untouchable. If he dicks around with the senior players he'll be shafted and get the sack, should he retain the job next season.
  18. APOEL, Benfica or Marseille would be awesome draws for us in the quarters. Milan wouldn't be too bad, I hope, but we're proper fucked if its Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern. And knowing our luck with draws it'll be one of the latter 4
  19. Excellent performance, but I'm still not convinced we've turned a corner. This has been the pattern of our team for the last 18 months or so, we get a great result in a big match but then turn around and drop points to lower mid table teams in the Premiership. Drogba was excellent, Terry led the defence adroitly, Ramires and David Luiz and Ivanovic also turned in excellent performances. Mata, Lampard and Cole were decent today, Essien was a tad disappointing as was Sturridge. The big suprise is that Bosingwa actually defended okay today. If he can do that on a regular basis I'm all for keeping him at the club.
  20. Drogba giving them a taste of their own medicine
  21. Ban this Neanderthal. FYI mate, Paleolothic humans were far more intelligent than what you've displayed
