  1. He looked very uncomfortable at RB when on the ball I thought
  2. I think the contract extension could either be that Mourinho plans on playing 4-3-3 the majority of the time next season and doesn't rate Mikel as back-up to Matic, or maybe the club still thinks that he they can make profit on him if he has a successful injury free loan. Personally I think he's too injury prone (or unlucky with injuries) to be part of the squad, but we'll see
  3. He had a good match, @Squawka: Kenneth Omeruo key stats: 100% tackles won (4), 2 headers won, 9 clearances, 3 interceptions. Bossed it. #CFC #NGA
  4. Lukaku and Hazard have had far worse games today.
  5. Could have used crosses like those against the teams sitting back like Algeria are doing now. He's clearly a good player who deserved more chances.
  6. Watched him against Iran, not his best game. Fine defensively but very poor on the ball, then again none of the Nigerian players could complete a pass today.
  7. Think this loan could be the last we'll see of Kalas at Chelsea. Koln is a strange destination, a club who've just been promoted by the play offs, and considering when he was with Vitesse they were pushing for a Europa League place not sure why he could not have gone for a similarly placed team pushing for Europe. There is still a problem with us in that when a player proves himself on loan we still fail to integrate them into the squad, and apparently the blame is always circumstantial or that the player isn't good enough. Sturridge, KDB, Kalas, Lukaku, Bertrand. You guys are saying a loan playing regularly will be good for him, he has already had 2 seasons on loan where he's done well. If we bring him back into the squad we have to build up on that development, and I think he's just wasted a year of development. People saying we couldn't take a risk on him with our defence - he certainly didn't look out of place at Liverpool and even if he was a risk, why was he not loaned? Kalas himself judging by the interviews in around springtime was not happy with his season and I can't blame him. Mourinho/the club HAVE mishandled him and his development last season. Kalas would have asked for a loan himself if someone said to him that you'll only make your first start at the end of the season when there's little to play for, and your other appearances will consist of futile substitutions in the 87th minute. Clearly someone told him different.
  8. This is what I was thinking this season, as he really impressed me at LB for the youth and he has also been starting at LB for the Dutch U21s in their recent games. He would do well there but it looks likely we'll either sign a new LB and/or PVA will come back and be back-up (to a new LB or Azpi). Hopefully a loan next season should be a bigger clue as to where his best position is.
  9. He is a decent squad option but he's just too injury prone. He'll probably get sold to a Spanish side this summer. Without the injury problems he could be a good player/option
  10. Him being back up would suit the club, as he's homegrown and quite a decent 'keeper. Obviously it may not suit him, especially in the long term but we'll see. If Schwarzer and Hilario stay next season then a loan for him makes sense.
  11. Kind of surprising they have dropped Negredo over Torres. I guess their form last 6 months hasn't been wildly dissimilar and like it or not Torres has performed for them (on paper) at Euro 08, Euro 12 and the Confeds
  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QU2xvYRCCNg His goal for Brazil U20s against Qatar. They are in the final of the Toulon tournament against France in a few days.
  13. Starting for U20s today in place of Chalobah as the squad gets rotated (4th game in 8d ays). Playing against Collmbia U20 who actually also have a Chelsea player starting for them, the lesser spotted Joao Rodriguez.
  14. FT 1-1 Played a more box to box role today, and although England were poor generally I reckon he was still the best player there for us. Certainly between him, Redmond and March. Strong physically and created chances going forward while made some crucial interceptions, challenged and headers defensively. Couple of poor touches and a poor decision in final third after a good run let him down
  15. FT England 1-2 Brazil Chalobah probably the only one who had the composure to keep the ball consistently against Brazil's high pressing game. Created the opening for the only goal by turning from defence to attack with a turn and acceleration in midfield, getting past 2-3 Brazilians and putting a player through who got fouled (Ward Prowse scored from it).
  16. Lukaku scores for Belgium in friendly against Luxembourg
  17. HT and he's had a good game so far. Probably best on the pitch for me (although I think only him and Redmond have been decent at all. England U21 side is starting to look a bit jaded/average for me as stronger players are moving up). TBH he'd be the perfect understudy to Matic..
  18. Starting vs Brazil U20 in Toulon tournament. Piazon, Josh and Wallace all on the bench though.
  19. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2636708/Chelsea-starlet-Islam-Feruz-turns-playing-Scotland-SFA-chief-changed-rules-could.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=chelsea+fc+transfer+speculations Safe to say this hasn't exactly helped his relations with the Celtic fans. He must have his eye on an England cap. He did tweet once that he'd love to play in the ACON but then the countries he is eligible for (Somalia and Tanzania) wouldn't qualify anyway,
  20. I always thought he had an intellectual schoolboy look about him. I can equally imagine him just living at his family house inbetween games like it says in the article (Jones did the same at Blackburn). Hard to imagine him mixing it up with the more cunty people in football.
