Apparently they were moments away from making Arteta the new manager but had a last minute change of mind.

Can't see this one happening and if it does, I wouldn't be as happy as maybe I would have been if we had signed him 2 years ago. He is nearly 30 years old!!! We need a Jesus or a Griezmann.

Conte is a big character and has stood up to the egos. Look at what has happend between him and the dressing room. We need a coach with charisma who will come in and put an arm around the egos and bring inovative ideas to the training ground. This will command respect from the squad. A similar way to how Pep manages his sides.

I hope we don't touch Enrique with a barge pole. My gut instinct tells me he is't the man for the job. Sarri is my first choice simply because of the football he has had Napoli playing. If Jardim isn't an option then I would be content with getting Jakanovic. Whoever comes in will have to bring their A-game. Next season is a big season for us.
-
Whoever comes here is inevitably going to get the sack. Even if they win the CL they will get sacked. It is what it is. I'm starting to make my peace with it.

Not nessiccarily. It might be because Roman has had enough of employing the big names. He might want to take us in a new and fresh direction. Give somebody the opportunity to prove himself on the big stage.
-
I think you could be pleasantly surprised by Jakonovic. I watched an interview with him and he comes across as the sort of guy that commands respect. A mans man. Very cool individual.

I read somewhere that we need to sell a few in order to buy this summer.. sell Willian, Zappacosta, Morata, Drunkwater and maybe Bakayoko. I am actually willing to watch Bakayoko trip over his own feet for another season just for the comedy factor. Once we get some dosh for that lot, then we can finance maybe 2 top players. Dip in Romans funds and buy another 2. Promote Mount and Odoi. Good to go.
-
Sell him to United all day long. If we can get Martial in the deal, even better. Losing Willian will not be a problem whatsoever, especially if we bring in someone of real quality. We have to get his replacement bang on though. I'd even prefer Zaha to Willian.

He is a brilliant character to have in the squad. The kind of player we will ear mark an era by and be sad to see him retire xD.
-
A really good watch this. Interesting that both Courtois and Eden are screaming out for our board to buy some big players and to have continuity in management. Roman has to take notice.
-
An outrageous player! He deserves this F.A Cup.
-
😂😂😂 Bakayoko winning fouls by tripping himself up. Brilliant 😂😂😂

Regarding the predicition league, I am all for it. Sounds fun!! On another note, I am always linked to the forums as I have it in my history on my phone but earlier I went to www.talkchelsea.net homepage and could not find out how to access the forun for love nor money. Are the forums a main feature of this site or is it now mostly a website for news articles and foruns are a secondry feature? If not, then could you not make it more apparent that there is a great community here for discussion.. maybe more people would sign up if if it was more obvious.

You just get the feeling that would be the case here. 😦
-
Not so much us getting players bang in their prime but more us getting players who were hot on the market like Hazard, Cole, Robben ect.
-
Play amazing against us and then cost 30+ million.
-
I don't think we need to spend big amounts of money on young, unproven talent at all. We have that, like you said. What we need are World Class, proven talents in certain areas.
-
I couldn't agree more with what you have said. I really hope that what we agree on is correct. I just couldn't stomach City dominating Europe for a few years if any. A lot of fans say, 'i want City or Liverpool to win the CL because theu are an English team'. Myself, I never want an English team to win anything. Even then Charity Shield.
-
We didn't get everyone we went for but it felt like we had alot more pulling power before now. The start of Romans Era, the revolution was an exciting prospect for any aspiring footballer. I'm sure players look at how we hire and fire thus resulting in instability in the dressing room, then look at what others are doing and would prefer their projects.
-
He is City bound. Remember when players wanted to come here and getting them wasnt a problem at all.

Any good manager can work the Prem out pretty quickly, just look at Conte winning in his first season. For somebody who knows the Prem inside out, Potchettino has made pretty big mistakes when it has mattered most. The game vs us when Leicester won the league was poor management in my opinion. Spurs went awol and completely bottled it. That should and would not happen under a top manager who knows how to motivate his team in the big occasions. In fact, I think motivating the team past the finish line seems to be where Potchettino fails and on more than one occasion. Having said that, he does have positive qualities in terms of building a squad with a mix of youth and established players. Kane has bailed him out in a shit-load of games too which covers up alot of cracks that Spurs can show often.
-
Why do you think Pochettino is a better choice than Sarri? Have you seen how Napoli play? Beautiful football. Potchettino is good but Tottenham don't really play pretty football.
