Schweinsteiger's treatment by Mourinho is simply classless, and after what happened at Real Madrid and then at Chelsea I can't say I'm even surprised anymore. Mourinho is broken. He's nothing but a bitter man with zero respect for others, my eyes have been well and truly opened after the events of last season. If he's willing to do that to a player as universally respected as Schweinsteiger, he'll eventually do it for anyone who doesn't kiss his ass and that will once again lead to his destruction. As soon as things go sideways he'll start throwing his players and certain staff members under the bus and the situation will only go from bad to worse. Maybe with the huge investments in player recruiting at Man Utd that won't happen for some time and they may even win something, because when things go well Mourinho is a great manager, but even every great team will have bad moments and in those bad moments Mourinho's true nature will be revealed and his United squad will realize what kind of a person they're dealing with and by then it's already very hard to turn things around.

Conte: 'Matic is an important player for me, a very important player. In my idea of football he is an important player and he knows this. N’Golo, Nemanja, Cesc, Oscar, Chalobah and Mikel who is in the Olympics, it is not easy to choose. I want to have this problem.' Couple of things I noticed in that comment. First of all no mention of RLC there and considering the position he's played so far in pre-season, does Conte really not see him as a central midfielder? And second, it's starting to look increasingly likely that Chalobah is staying with the first team squad this season, which would be really fantastic if you ask me.

Just signed for Barcelona. Can't say I saw that coming. Media saying Barca paid €60M to Valencia for him.

Rather the club sign nobody than spend 60m on Lukaku. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

Yep, and Traore's been with the club since age 14 too. Got a feeling we'll finally have a manager who won't be afraid to use youth if they show in training that they deserve to play. Excited as fuck about the coming season.
-
Goals by the youngsters Traore, RLC and Chalobah. Can't ask for more, hope Conte is pleased with what he saw by the young lads.
-
Michy wasn't on the bench when lineups were announced, right? Anyway nice to see him get in the game!
-
Weird to see Oscar played in a two man central midfield. Been struggling to see use for him in Conte's formations due to the lack of actual attacking midfielders so it's intriguing to see how he'll do as a CM.

Shouldn't be sold, Atletico aren't rich enough to offer a price simply too good to turn down and there's no way we can get a replacement as good as him in this window so we can only be on the losing side of this thing if a transfer does happen. The situation with Costa is tricky. On one hand he's good enough to score +20 league goals and lead us to another title push but then again he's often a liability with his antics and if his heart is not 100% in it he'll most likely be of very little use to the club. I hope Conte will convince him to stay at least one more season and give everything he has to the cause and then return to Atleti next year if he still wants. I'm sure before 17/18 season the club can find a good enough replacement but no chance for that happening this summer.
-
Yeah no way he'd be going on loan if he's signed, he has half of Europe's big clubs after him (Barca, Juve, Arsenal, Chelsea etc.) so surely he'll go somewhere that he can actually get a game at. My guess is Juventus but wouldn't mind us signing him.
-
Or the two central midfielders will be Matic and Kante, with Fabregas being pushed up for an attacking midfield role. But yea if it comes down to just two of Kante, Cesc and Matic to be picked for preferred starting lineup, which I think is likely, I have a feeling it will be the first two and Matic will look to leave for Juve. I think Cesc, Kante, Mikel and RLC is really thin for two positions with Mikel simply not up for the required standards and lot of question marks looming over RLC's level over a season. One or two injuries to midfielders there and we're fucked, which is why I think Matic shouldn't be sold or at least needs to be replaced properly if he goes.
-
Nah if anything he'll be 'like a new signing', forgive the cliché. From what I've heard he was good last season out on loan and is a player Conte's been wanting to manage since his Juve days so he'll have a clear role in mind for him if he indeed is brought back. That and the fact Cuadrado would be starting the season having been at the club for a full pre-season regime gives me hope he'd come good if given the chance.

Whoever from high up on the club's hierarchy gave the okay on Ivanovic signing that new contract back in January when his previous deal was expiring needs to be named and shamed. Would've been just so easy to let him go and say 'thanks for the memories and contributions towards the club's success in recent years but it's time to move on' but nah, just had to give him that contract extension. His legs are gone and it's really sad to see him play in this state. Should he keep playing any longer he'll eventually tarnish his really nice legacy at the club and some fickle people will just remember him as the useless sack of shit he's been since last year.
-
Yeah, there's already some whispers about bringing back the death penalty and hanging all the people behind the coup. That's just the first step, next thing we know they're hanging anyone possessing even slightly opposing opinions towards Erdogan's dictatorship be it on social media or wherever. Sad...
-
Not to mention Icardi and his agent-wife are both massive cunts.
-
Yeah, a lot of football's big names are listed to take part in that event: Mourinho, Drogba, Hazard, Essien, Messi, Neymar, Iniesta, Xavi, Puyol, Benzema, Desailly etc. A few of those were probably planning on arriving in Turkey tomorrow but at least some should already be there and now they're stuck with all airports closed.
-
Newspaper AS in Spain saying he's signing a new contract at Real Madrid and staying there. Guess that's it then. Still think another striker is needed assuming Conte's planning to deploy a two striker formation but who? There's that Brazilian kid who's rumoured to be a transfer target for us but if we miss out on him, I really don't see any other alternatives out there apart from Lukaku and I'd prefer the club stay as far away from him as possible. Interesting times ahead, that's for sure.
-
Exactly what I was thinking, a midfield three consisting of Kanté, Cesc and Matic sounds brilliant on paper but the latter two obviously need to step up their form from last season. Kanté and Matic doing the "dirty work" with Fabregas being allowed to do his magic without pressure and very little defensive responsibilities doesn't sound that bad to me.
-
Just came across some Man United fans slating him on Twitter for leaving a CL club for a non-CL club. Oh, what about all their signings so far then? Mkhitaryan, Zlatan and Bailly all left from clubs qualified to the CL to join them, yet somehow that's a reasonable step up for these players but Kante's move isn't? You just couldn't make it up, people really are dumb.
-
Great news, can't wait for confirmation! That's pretty much midfield sorted with Kante, Cesc, Matic, RLC, Mikel with maybe one more new addition in case Matic or Mikel leaves. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

Never actually seen him play nor do I know how good he is but damn did he use to be good for me in FM when I still used to play that game a few years back. Missed out on the previous Santos wonderkid most of Europe's top clubs were after and everyone knows how he turned out to be so wouldn't mind taking the gamble with this one and see whether he'll come good too. It's not like €25M is a lot of money in football these days and even if he was some kind of failure we could still shift him for like €10-15M because of "the potential".

Sure, Conte requested Juve board to sign Morata buy he left the club before signing was actually made. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
