  1. Not making changes to tactics and bringing on substitutes until 85th minute cost us the match. Few useless freeloaders let the team down but Conte is the one who should have reacted earlier than he did, 7 minutes is simply not enough for anyone to come on and change the game so why not make the changes around 60th when Costa scored the 1-2 goal and looked like we were gaining some momentum, I just don't get it. Needs to learn from this, surely Conte has now seen that he can't trust the likes of Oscar, Matic, Ivanovic and Cahill week-in week-out. Maybe in a case of emergency some of them can play but consistently starting all four is just asking for trouble, all fans know that and Conte should too. Saying all those things to the media about playing the ones who deserve to be on the pitch needs to be more than just talk, we have plenty of decent players on the bench (Cesc, Batshuayi) or even in the stands (RLC, Chalobah) so why not use them?
  2. "I would have been worried if that was our first team. As it was, it was a Europa League match, with 7 changes... " Coming from a Manchester United fan. Hmm, let's see: Smalling instead of Blind, the change all United fans were screaming for after the City game. Both fullbacks changed, in this department clearly the second-string playing. Herrera and Schneiderlin instead of Fellaini and Rooney. Herrera is the guy all their fans were so happy to come on at HT last weekend and claimed he almost changed the game. Pogba finally getting to play the Rooney role is what they've all been wishing too. Here only Schneiderlin in place of Fellaini can be really considered fielding a weakened side, other changes just shuffling up first teamers. Lingard and Mkhitaryan haven't been starters for them and for Mourinho to play them in the derby was just bizarre, so bringing on Martial and Mata was a move back to the lineup fielded in three league games before City. Rashford instead of Zlatan. Playing Rashford from the start is obviously weaker than playing Zlatan but isn't he supposed to be the wonder boy so why was he all of a sudden not good enough to play against an Eredivisie side? Conclusion: of the eight changes only four were actually from the second-string and the rest just Mourinho shuffling up his team after their disappointing performance against City. If their squad without Zlatan, Shaw and Valencia is not good enough to beat Feyenoord it just means the squad is shit and Mourinho doesn't know how to get the best out of players like Mkhitaryan and Pogba.
  3. So do you think it would be fair to say that he has some similarities to Lukaku, basically not the best footballer but a great goalscorer? Of course Abraham needs to prove first that he can keep up the good form going throughout the season in the Championship and then at a higher level before really starting to compare him to proven players but just talking about what type of player he is. Not gonna start overhyping the kid just because a few good lower level games but can't deny the fact that so far he's done as good as he possible could've, the guy had two professional games under his belt before Bristol and then he goes there to score goals for fun.
  4. Slowly starting to become my favorite at the club and he's hardly even played, the guy is a legend on social media.
  5. Yep, it's like the FA consider referees some kind of gods who are perfect in every way and can do no wrong. That kind of thinking only goes to stroke their inflated egos when they're already viewed as some sort of celebrities around the world and earn big amounts of money from refereeing so would only be fair they get criticized if they're absolute dog shit at their job.
  6. Cahill posted a gif about the "incident" on his Twitter page, clearly with the intention of implying the ref was absolutely clueless not to call it a foul. Just watch him now get banned for that by the FA and leave us with Luiz and Ivanovic at CB for Liverpool.
  7. Great player, been following his career quite closely since making his debut in the Finnish 1st division with a three minute hat-trick four years back when he was 17. Was stuck on loans at some shitty 2. Bundesliga clubs who couldn't create any chances for their strikers but is now being given a chance with the Leverkusen squad and is enjoying every minute, scored all four of their league goals so far this season despite only playing 30 minutes. Could be a real breakthrough season for him if he keeps up even half this form. Not every day does a guy from Finland score a hat-trick in a top4 league, last guy who did that was Chelsea man Mikael Forssell while on loan at Birmingham.
  8. So he'll be going back to Palace if he recovers from injury without further setbacks?
  9. At least there's the upside of our deadline day signings getting to train with Conte a couple of weeks before the game so might even get a start here, at least Luiz who has been training with JT while Cahill has been away on international duty. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
  10. How exactly? Because if they did buy him this window for a fixed transfer fee and no loan non-sense they'd be amortizing the whole fee over the contract length as far as FFP goes so I don't really see how it is any different paying an annual loan fee. What the deal in place does is allow Juventus a flexible payment schedule while also potentially saving them €10M if Cuadrado flops and that money is straight out of Chelsea's pocket.
  11. Yep, replace Terry with Christensen next year and it's perfect.
  12. Probably took part in a presser for Belgium NT or something and was asked about it. But yeah I know what you mean, he's always present when things happen.
  13. Three year loan deal, first of a kind surely. Loan fee €5M and €20M to make the move permanent should he make a certain amount of appearances for Juve. Surely the amount of games needed to trigger the buyout needs to be ridiculously low which will 100% be met, because otherwise that'd mean essentially just selling him for €5M cause his contract at Chelsea was up in 2019 anyway.
  14. From what I remember people weren't really "celebrating", maybe about the fee PSG paid but not so much about Luiz being gone. Then he had a horrible game against Germany at the WC and people were all of a sudden happy he left. But yeah that doesn't really change what you just said, fickle bastards most fans.
  15. Same reason players like Mata, Lukaku, KdB, Schürrle etc. were sold and the reason is that Mourinho simply didn't fancy him that much. At the time it was a good idea to sell him and the fee was massive, and it's an equally good move to bring him back now. That's how I see it.
  16. Didn't win a league title tho. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
  17. If (and right now that's still a really big if) the club actually pull off all rumored signings in Alonso, David Luiz and Aymen Abdennour could it be a sign that Conte is still considering to implement a formation with three at the back? With Terry, Cahill, Zouma, Luiz, Abdennour and Ivanovic there would be a ridiculous amount of bodies in central defence for a back four but for a 3-5-2 it's a whole new story, especially with Marcos Alonso being a player that would fit Conte's LWB position like a glove. Interesting 8 hours coming up.
  18. Sakho from Liverpool, maybe? Certain to leave and is seemingly quite picky about where he wants to go, probably waiting for a big club to make an offer for him. Would be quite hilarious really if PSG ended up buying their former player Sakho and Chelsea got Luiz back. It's the centreback merry-go-round.
  19. Loan to Watford was already confirmed earlier today.
  20. French media starting to pick up the story, saying bid got rejected. Probably dependent on PSG signing a replacement, we'll see tomorrow.
  21. Sky, Mirror and Mail all reporting it now. Could be just everyone getting on the bandwagon and copying each other but usually when this many outlets report something there's something in it. Call me crazy but I'd take him back. Matic and Kante seem to be sure starters under Conte and they can cover for Luiz when he goes bombing forward and will help him when he has those occasional lapses in defense. Luiz's forward runs and long passing are pretty much second to none for centre backs so I don't think it would be bad to have him in the team again.
  22. Pretty good deal, I'd say. £3.5M loan fee according to reports and a forced buy-out clause should he play enough games. Last season he played 28 games for Juve so if he stays fit he should play around the same this time around as well, and that probably activates the buyout. Of course if he plays badly there's the chance of him getting stuck in the reserves so Juve won't have buy him but let's worry about that later if it comes to that.
  23. Yaya and Eto'o left after Guardiola's 2009 treble, not before.
