  1. I just think the rest of the buys are a risk at their prices. Delap for 30 mil? No brainer. Also I can’t be the only one that sees him as a bit of a baby Gyokeres? Similar strengths and play styles imo. Gyokeres looks dog shit at headers though. If Delap stinks it up, it’s 30 mil and easy to recoup. Especially on homegrown talent. If Etikite sucks we look like idiots spending 90 odd million. Same with Gyokeres. I remember people on here telling me Morata finally gave us a proper finisher. I remember being one of the people saying Lukaku would be beast this time around. The list goes on for forwards we have taken turns being wrong on. Salah was value for money. Haaland too. Isak. I just don’t see any of these guys as sure fire studs like Haaland so it’s not worth the risk.
  2. Ekitike is not worth more than double compared to Delap. I’d argue Delap is the more effective and impactful player right now anyway. Shitting on a player who banged in 12 goals on a shitty, shitty Ipswich team is bizarre. Ekitike is playing on a well oiled offensive team and has 3 more goals… in a way worse league.
  3. Man United have been notorious for overachieving on their xG last few seasons and it has masked how bad they actually are. Once you start performing in line with actual expectations you see your true level. I’ve never liked xG as a stat for forwards. Most of the best strikers thrive off of chances - and the more you can make or be in position for, the better.
  4. That is fair enough but prior to these two seasons in Portugal he would have been one to stay away from according to this board. So his last two seasons are essentially making him a must buy? I’m not the biggest Osimhen fan either but I think he does better against low blocks and EPL defences based on his aerial threat and back to goal play.
  5. Why are people so sold on Gyokeres? He returned at less than a goal every 2 games in the championship and has only excelled now in the Portuguese league. Add to that he is 27. Yet people don’t want to go with the 21 or 22 year olds who are far ahead of where Gyokeres was at that age. I’m just struggling to see how he is somehow a sure fire lock to bang in goals given his past. Osimhen seems like the safer bet.
  6. Also - finished on 69 points. Niiiiiiiice.
  7. Also - suck shit NF. So glad we shit housed our way to a win with a bit of time wasting after their blatant cheating last week against West Ham. Couldn't have happened to a better team. Now lets raid them for Murilo.
  8. Time to win the biggest trophy in Europe on Wednesday.
  9. In all honesty though - all this complaining about a shitty rebuild, but here we are back in the CL in 3 seasons time, and we have a bunch of young and exciting talent here now, and more to come. Its different to Roman's style, but clearly, on the right track. We've played like absolute shit at times this season, but that is par for the course for any Chelsea season even when we won titles.
  10. Same. Never a doubt in my mind. Everyone here talking top 5, but I knew we could do top 4.
  11. I've checked. The clown bests the manager!
  12. dude... wait for the goals to be confirmed
  13. Can we at least try to play? Just inviting pressure now.
  14. 45 minutes of hoping has worked so far though. lol
  15. Hold on Man U. Surely even you guys can draw against 10 men. Saves our useless team having to score.
  16. Martinez just got a red card in the Villa game!
  17. No way you blame that on the keeper. That is on his defenders.
  18. If we have a Rogers on one wing and Cole on the other - or just goal scorers around the "striker" then we can get away with the Jackson/Delap type - ala Liverpool with Firmino. Saying that though - I think Delap on a better team becomes a decent goal scorer. From watching him he has nice technique with his striking and isn't afraid to crack it.
  19. Not getting Dortmund vibes at all. People here are just spoilt and think rebuild means it happens in one or two years as we've previously been doing. Reality is it took City and a few other teams a few years to get it done. We were the most rapid and brutal with the way we did things - and in turn we were also the most up and down with success. I think they're trying to create an even deeper and more entrenched version of City - filtering youth into the top team and continuing the cycle for constant success and title challenges - on top of all that selling the young players for profit.
  20. Rogers would be great business. Can play either wing, LW being helpful for us, and feel he has potential to even fill in at CF when needed. Best mates with Cole as well from the looks of things. I really don't think Sesko, Gyokeres, Osimhen or anyone bar Isak are world class and surefire locks to bang in goals in the PL. So I think getting someone like Delap as competition for CF is fine and seeing how he pans out. 40 mil or whatever it is really isn't breaking the bank, and can move him on if he doesn't turn into what is expected. Rodrygo would be great, but I'd be chuffed with Rogers. Left hand side with Cucu and Rogers (with Felix/Noni as backup?) sorted. Right with Neto/Estevao and James/Gusto sorted. Cole in the middle. Delap/Jackson partnership I think would do okay and can always look to upgrade. Our midfield is set for years. Just need to focus on CB's from there.
  21. Felix is fine as a back up option and cup games. He can make impact on games, but for 50 mil, better to move him on and try and recoup.
