  1. No he was written off. People wanted him sold, said he was a championship-standard player and that PVA was better. While neglecting the fact that PVA is playing consistently in a much weaker league, while Shaw has the advantage of playing every game in his best position. I am also willing to wager that the majority don't actually watch Shaw week in, week out and form there view from what the media say and match of the day. The step up from Southampton to Chelsea is massive and i guarantee that Bertrand would also look class playing for southampton consistently. He needs to be given a chance here
  2. That's 22m euros firstly and there's also the fact Schurrle is very happy to do a job on the wing, contributes defensively and has immense work-rate as well as contributing offensively. He's also far more talented than Sturridge (just my opinion mind). Had Sturridge shown all of these qualities then maybe he wouldn't have been sold. So yes, nice job CFC
  3. Very surprised - Was excellent in the DM role tonight
  4. KDB's agent let something slip - "Bayer Leverkusen is a very good option. They will play in the Champions League next season and Kevin could probably play in Andre Schurrle's position" Reckon it's pretty much a done deal if you ask me
  5. Liverpool fans opinions are starting to change on Sturridge..................
  6. If you talking about this forum I think it's just because people have got bored talking about him........as the 190 pages for a player that isn't even ours shows
  7. http://www.oneworldsports.com/chelsea-boosts-attacking-options-pending-schurrle-capture/ Written by Raphael Honigstein Few interesting things 'Last August, his club had come close to agreeing on an offer from Blues for Schürrle as well, Völler revealed, but a lack of suitable replacements had put a stop to the transfer. “This year,” he said, “we will see if there are alternatives.” In soccer terms, this is code for “we’ll do it.” ONE World Sports understands that both clubs have agreed in principle to do the deal for a fee just north of €20 million ($26M). Leverkusen does not want to announce the deal before it can secure the capture of one or two targets. Gladbach’s Patrick Herrmann is reportedly on the hit list, and so too is Chelsea’s Kevin De Bruyne, who currently plays for Werder Bremen on loan. Initially, Bayer had proposed a swap deal (De Bruyne plus cash) but the Londoners are only prepared to send the Belgian forward out on loan. Leverkusen will not have an option to buy either. Last week, De Bruyne was still to formally agree to this move — that’s another reason why the Schürrle deal has not been completed.' 'Following his break-through season with Thomas Tuchel’s Mainz in 2010/11, when he finished the season with 15 goals – the highest tally for a 20-year-old in the Bundesliga since Jürgen Klinsmann burst on the scene for VfB Stuttgart in the mid-80s' 'Where will he play? It will be possible to field him as deep-lying, roving striker behind a more orthodox No. 9. But he’ll probably be of more immediate use as a second genuine wide player, to relieve the over-reliance of Eden Hazard. His signing also holds out the intriguing option to return Chelsea to their “traditional,” Mourinho-devised system of a 4-3-3, with Schürrle and Hazard as classic wingers and Juan Mata operating in more central role behind them. He’s certainly a big upgrade from compatriot Marko Marin, whom Chelsea wanted to send on loan to Russia not long ago, and Victor Moses, who isn’t nearly as fast or dangerous in front of goal.' 'Lastly, Schürrle’s formative years at high-pressing, non-stop-running Mainz make him exactly the kind of hard-working, defensively-minded player that every coach — and especially Mourinho— covets. And the fact that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been directly involved in his signing shouldn’t hurt his prospects either.'
  8. So Rubin are a mediocre team all of a sudden, and that's funny because Torres has only started against Kompany and City on 2 occasions this season and has 1 goal.... Ba was also dealt with comfortably by Kolo Toure and Nastasic last time out When Torres find these random bursts of form he actually becomes a good player with good off the ball movement, finishing, work rate, link up play etc. After his injury Ba might be lacking rhythm and sharpness and that'll make him easier to defend against if that is the case. As I said before, don't mind who starts but it'll be a tough decision Not as straight fucking forward as you think..............
  9. He is, but Torres has hit a good run of form and got into a rhythm which is important for a striker. Not as straightforward or obvious as you make out
  10. Imagine if we draw Fener and lose. There fans will invade this forum like before
  11. Think the only selection dilemma here should be Ba or Torres. Not sure who to go for
  12. Also from his perspective, he'll need to play week in week out considering it's world cup year, and thus rather than being in and out of the side here a loan is probably better for him. Lets hope they make the bid so all parties concerned are happy!
  13. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2306509/Chelsea-turn-18-year-old-Nathan-Ake-Rubin-Kazan-game.html?ITO=1490&ns_campaign=1490&ns_mchannel=rss
  14. The way he could distribute the ball with about two touches. Wow.
  15. Doubt we'd sell him. In two seasons he'll easily be better than Moses and one of KDB and Oscar will end up in a deeper role imo. Definitely think they'll be space
  16. I'd be more worried if we were playing in Kazan, but don't Rubin have an average record at the Luzhniki stadium?
