Essien = a player who have just recovered from major injuries and lost his best skill (athleticism), it's going to be difficult to find a buyer Bosingwa = I think we can get 1-3 million from team in portugal A. Actually I don't mind Chelsea singing marquee players, but for some reason we are just suck at it. Currently we are really lack of super players,arguably our best player is mata and as much as like mata, I am not sure I want him as my best player. IMO the key for this summer is to find a good manager that know what he want to do and get players that fit in his system. If there is any positive that we can take from this season is that it show flaws (lots of them) of our players which will help our future manager in term of assessing who should stay and who should go.

With one striker system your striker should not be selfish. Danny should stay on the wing, I don't think he will ever get his wish playing central because his game is based on pace and running unless we get a new coach that play different system

Now teams understand that mata is the only guy that can create chances for us, he is still not used to the physicality of epl and he kept being bullied. The sad thing is that he is not a direct player and he like to play one-two football but nobody in our squad can play that way

Excellent analysis, but I don't think we can get 15 mill for Essien. He has just recovered from major injuries and everybody can see that he has lost his athleticism. With 4-2-3-1, we have young core in josh+romeu in midfield but are they good enough at this point to not only give protection to the back 4 but also to support our front 4. I also don't think ramires is a dm, he is more suited playing on the wing as our defensive wing like park ji sung or a cm when we play 4-3-3. With josh back, next season in mid we have : Lamp,Essien,Mikel,Romeu,Josh,Ramires (I expect meireles to be sold) That's six players competing for 2 spots in mid, unless we decide to sell one/two of them which I don't think will happen, we are not going to buy another mid.

IMO Di matteo selected the correct starting 11. Clichy was quiet all game long because ramires tracked him back really well. If he started sturridge over there Iva or even worse bosingwa would have major problem defending city attack. He had to bring essien to bring more protection to midfield (meireles was awful) and Drogba to hold the ball for us (Torress played well but he is not a target man who can hold the ball) to give our defense a break. We were just unlucky that he had to made a early sub, because I am sure he would definitely bring Danny in after the goal if he had one more sub.

Nope, Torres always want a through ball not on his feet. You should search for Xavi video in youtube where he explained that his role in spain team is as a organizer and every player want the ball at different place. Iniesta and Silva want the ball in his feet but Torres always want through ball.

Like I said,RDM had to do something to give us a little bit more time on the ball because we were being attacked like crazy by city. In the end it did not work but I understand that he had to do something. Btw I am pretty sure that if we had one more sub, he will bring danny in after we concede the 2nd goal not before because it is too risky to bring danny when you are being pinched in your own half like that.

He tried to run forward a couple of times but the ball never came, our mid for some reason simply cannot do a lob through pass. Torres always2 want a through ball but our players always pass the ball to his feet. There is no point complaining about this, this has bee a problem for our mid and torres all season.

I agree with what you said. In our system a striker has to play as a target man and Torres is simply not a target man type player

It's easy to complain about RDM sub mistake after the game. At that point we simply could not hold the ball at all. We need somebody up top to hold the ball for us so that our defender can have time to rest and Drogba is better at holding the ball compare to torres.

His positioning is not poor. Torres is a poacher, he always move around looking to move into channels because that is how a poacher play

Bosingwa is as bad as usual, Meireles has plenty of bad touch, Mata is bullied all over the place. Ramires is not really playing well going forward but he track backed really well.

If that is the formation, I just love it. I have been asking us to play meireles behind striker like what he did in liverpool (he scored plenty of goals in that position), finally i got my wish and hopefully we can beat city

If he really want to impress Stuart Pearce, He should pass more. No manager want a player to shoot when his teammate is in the better position In fact it show bad decision making which can cause a team a game. We should not defend danny for his selfishness because he is not 18 anymore, he is 23. He remind me of ronaldo who used to be very selfish (he pass more this days) but Ronaldo is super good and danny is no where close to his level
