I think Neymar will flourish in La Liga. I am particularly curious about how he will look against organized defenses in champions league play.

Mata is even listed as a forward in the Spain Squad. That's what he is. The strangest and most effective striker over an entire season you've ever seen.

I don't want to get into a Terry convo on this thread, I've posted other opinions about him previously. But I just wanted to say, yes, I agree with you on all accounts with Terry. If we were another club looking to purchase him I would say the same thing (i.e. no thank you)

I loved how he seemed at ease having the ball in the offensive third, shrugging off tackles and moving FORWARD to find the open player.

I've heard some talk there isn't a proper Juan Mata song at the bridge. At first I wrote one a la Enrique Iglesias' "Bailamos" but I think that's too fast and syncopated. Remember that if you "put mata on the right wing", he really just slides into a central position letting Azpi go up and down the right flank. It doesn't matter. As I said in another thread. One does not simply give mata a position, he gets to go wherever the fu%# he wants and we all enjoy

I live in NYC and yes as a fan, I think the players should rest. But yes, as a fan, I scored two tix as soon as they were out there. I just wanna show mata some love. If it were Luiz who let him walked into the box, the analysts would have been all over it. I'm sick of Cahill not getting flack for his sometimes-shit defending. He's fine once he has his mind set on what to do, but his decision making sometimes is awful. I don't think he's bad at all. Luiz has plenty of headlines to steal, and haters to gain, before we should be so quick to forget who led our team for so long. I love JT, but that's because he was a commanding presence on and off the field, whether he got silly red cards and slept with other players' wives or not.

I really thought he was going to be something special... I still feel that when he gets the ball in the final third he CAN be dynamic and dangerous (then again, so can bertrand) but I think the thing about marin which hurts him is his inability to help us GET to the final third.
