  1. I agree, that way they are yet to have reached their prime and can do so with us.
  2. Unless we sell Kalou? Cant see Shevchenko and Pizzaro coming back tbh. I do think we need a class striker but definately not two of them. I do however think we also need a quality attacking player in the form of a winger and perhaps Aguero can fill that void?
  3. Completely agree, 25 is still very young as well, I wouldnt be surporised to see him come either, we have had our eye on him since before he joined West Ham. Still think we need some more quality out wide though even if he does join.
  4. Id like them both tbh. Tevez is proven quality in England, very high work rate and a bit different to what we already have, Aguero is quick, creative and skillful. If we do bring them both in we would have to let someone go tho, doesnt necessarily have to be Drogba or Anelka.
  5. Thts not to say we shouldnt buy very talented youngsters, just some experience too
  6. You quite obsessed with the young players, reminds me of one Arsene Wenger. I understand the need to bring in youth, but at the same time we need to not get carried away with. It doesnt help having half a squad 30 plus and half a squad under 21 we need balance, there is nothing wrong with paying good money for proven quality that is 25 to 27 years old
  7. I understand where you are coming from with wanting to focus on the future but we need to also focus on the present and at present there really is no need for Benzema. If we only focus on the future we will end up like Arsenal.
  8. Dont quite think our squad is as strong as man utds but our first 11 is definately stronger. I think we just need to improve our depth with quality, the likes of Pato and Aguero, Van Der Vaart, Zhirkov. Quality players that we can rotate.
  9. Thank you Stamford, now back to Aguero, I think he could well be exactly what we are missing at Chelsea, he has pace, flair and can dribble past defenders. Personally I think Benzema is a fantastic player , but he is too similar to ANelka and Drogba so it would be a bit of a waste, we cant just sign players purely on the fact that they are good.
  10. Can somebody please give me one good reason why we should actually sign this guy? Cos I cant think of one.
  11. David Villa for me, the man is absolute class, however Valencia can go screw themselves for the amount they want for him, I would pat a cent more then 35 mil tops. I think he would make as big an impact as Torres and a front three of Villa, Drogba, Anelka is pretty mouth-watering. Second choice would be Aguero great talent and Pato. the are all very good players though, would be happy with any of them really. Tevez is also worth mentioning.
  12. I really cant understand why any player would prefer to go to another club over Chelsea and thats not just because I am a Chelsea fan. We are consistently competing for all competitions we play in, have immaculate facilities, pay our players well and win trophies. Why the fuck would want to go anywhere else?
  13. I find it quite ironic that Deco can make a statemnet like "I am not happy with Chelsea", did it ever occur to him that maybe Chelsea is not happy with him the useless old twat. Enjoy Seria A with the rest of the retirement village you dinosaur has been. Better yet, why dont you go join your mate Scolari in Uzbekistan or wherever the fuck is right now.
  14. Well if we not paying Sheva at the moment, we soon will be when he returns cos that looks as though that will be our biggest signing. So basically Peter Kenyon is admitting that he miscalculated. Well theres a surprise, Peter Kenyon miscalculating.
  15. I cant understand why they have to have the Afcon ever two years? No other confederation does this that i am aware of? Its a bit ridiculous. The reason why it is in January is not for the weather but because it is at the end of the African football season. The same reason why Euro is played in June.
  16. Im very concerned about the names that we are currently being linked to, we do need a big name signing thats for sure, and no, Andrea Pirlo is not a world class big name player, he is a has been and Milan can keep him along with Gatusso, Seedorf and the rest. Glen Johnson was hit the first time round why would we want him again? Is this our thought process then perhaps we bring back Mateja Kezman too. Real Madrid have completely fucked everyone over the greedy swines, completely over paying for two quality players. We would never pay that kind of money for big name and im sure yet again this summer we will finish up on August 31st as we started, with a new manager with the same old squad. I agree that we should look to sign the likes of Aguero and Pato, but not at the prices these clubs are demanding for unproven talent. As if they will actually come to Chelsea anyway, how many big name players have snubbed us in the past few weeks? prefering to go to Real for some reason? But whatever hey, sign Johnson, sign Zhirkov and sign someone over the hill like Trezeguet, but just dont expect improved results if you not improving the squad.
  17. Liverpool have spent their fare share over the past few seasons as well, Torres, Keane to name a few werent exactly cheap. Signing players is part of game these days, people must just get over it, if we dont spend we cant improve.
  18. One stand out game of his this season was against Barcelona where he ripped their defence apart single handed. He is an awesome talent would love to snap him up probably more so than Pato. Also saw him play in the youth world cup before he moved to Aletico and he was one of the stand out talents. The only question is should we sign him or David Villa?
  19. Would be very sad to see Riccy go but we have to be realistic and look towards the future, Alex has been brilliant over the past two seasons and neither he nor Riccy would be happy sitting on the bench, then Ivanovic will be unhappy too and we would possibly lose Mancienne too. We want to keep hold of our future and thats why we should let Riccy go. Alex becomes first choice and Ivanovic behind him with Mancienne in there too all getting games and staying happy.
  20. Have to agree with Aesthetic, for most of those clubs it is way more important to do as well as they can in EPL, it is in all probability a bigger competition than the Uefa Cup, I think clubs like Tottenham, Everton, Man City and now Prtsmouth have much bigger ambitions than the Uefa Cup and are trying to push their way into the Champions League and the onloy way to do that is to finish in the top four.
  21. A squad 25 would be good I feel, 2 quality players for every position, so 8 defenders, 6 midfielders and 6 attackers, plus 3 goalkeepers and then 2 or 3 youngsters which we already have in the likes of Stoch, Di Santo etc...
  22. Ancellotti would definately not be my choice, I hope this is all just Journo bullshit to sell papers or like Desailly said he thinks that Chelsea are using this to land another manager. Quotes from Bruce Buck look promising though and im sure we will have a new manager within the next two weeks and it looks like they have thought long and hard about it.
  23. I agree, they would be stupid not to sell him for the amounts of money being speculated, but again its all speculation, I really cant see someone actually coming in with that sort of money in the first place, except maybe Man City, but I certainly cant Chelsea paying out 13 million more than the record transfer fee, it just doesnt make financial sense. Thats why I dont think they will actualy sell him, obviously Bayern feel he is worth a lot more than he actually is
  24. Im sure if we do actually sign him it will be for a good price. I very good signing in my opinion. And what from I can see everyones seems to agree. Versatility is the key with this guy and he will be comfotable being rotated until he finds his feet in England. Good competition for Malouda as well
