  1. It's hard to see Kalou 'realising his potential' at Chelsea, at this stage of his career...and with the likes of Kakuta (Wing/Creative Midfielder), Lalkovic (Winger/Forward) coming through the ranks, I'm not sure if Kalou has a 'big' role to play in the future. He's a good forward..but maybe playing for a lesser European club would allow him to fulfil his potential because I think he just lacks that extra-gear required to play consistently for Chelsea FC.
  2. Whats the current pecking order in terms of Chelsea's goalkeepers? Cech Turnbull Hilario? Courtois (eventually should become the #1) Delac? Taylor/Blackman?
  3. Torres is nearly back to his best. Scoring 2 goals against a weakened Genk defence will have given him alot of confidence. Let's see how he goes in the important upcoming fixtures: Sat Oct 29 Arsenal H Sat Nov 19 Liverpool H Sat Dec 3 Newcastle United A Sat Dec 10 Manchester City H Tue Dec 20 Tottenham Hotspur A Mon Dec 26 Fulham H Sat Dec 31 Aston Villa H
  4. Don't think it's the same case for Drogba. He's a class forward. He's been great for CFC over the years..but he is beginning to show signs of ageing. He can easily prove his doubters wrong, put in a few great displays, score a bag of goals but I think as the season goes on, AvB will have to make the decision of whether to play Torres OR Drogba as the Centre Forward...because they don't exactly work well together...and I think Chelsea look more threatening with Torres in the team.
  5. Cech still has a few good years left in him. He probably won't play until 40 due to injuries...but then again, I doubt the likes of Buffon; Julio Cesar & Casillas (similar age to Cech and all of them are top-notch keepers) will be able to play until 40. Hopefully Courtois continues his development at Atletico Madrid..then next season, he'll be our #2 keeper..and he'll be ready to fill-in for Cech in Carling Cup; Fa Cup & some EPL/UCL matches.
  6. He would definitely add versatility to our squad. Has the potential to become world-class in a few seasons. Would have liked to see his skills on show for Belgium at Euro 2012...sadly, that won't be happening. Whats his current value in the transfer market? I'd be guessing anywhere between 20 - 25 million..and if thats the case, let's get him before Liverpool/Juventus make their move.
  7. Absolutely agree. Man Utd have Carrick; Fletcher; Anderson; Cleverley & Giggs in their midfield. None of them are really 'world-class'...but they stick to their tasks, create oppurtunities for Rooney & Co..and they usually get the result they want. I think it'll be near impossible for any club side to 'replicate' what the current Barcelona midfield & attack have at the moment. I don't really care who AvB selects in his three-man midfield..as long as they do their jobs & put in 100% effort, we should win the majority of our matches
  8. Mikel is an average midfielder. He'll make mistakes but he'll get the job done in the centre of midfield. Ramires has the ability to become a great midfielder for Chelsea and Brazil in the future. He has shown big signs of improvement this season, and hopefully he only gets better season by season. As for Essien, he was an outstanding midfielder at his best & I doubt you'll find another midfielder like him..so it's rather unfair that you're trying to compare Essien to Ramires/Mikel.
  9. Seems like a decent player...but I don't think we need him at Chelsea FC. Gotta feel bad for Moyes. He generally loses his 'better' players (eg. Lescott; Pienaar; Arteta..and would have lost Rodwell if he didn't get injured) but he's not able to replace them due to a lack of transfer funds.
  10. Conor Clifford. Definitely has the talent to make it as an EPL midfielder...but he's got a long way to go before he'll get the chance to play with the first-team. If he keeps developing and improving, he could be another option at CM/CDM in the future...we'll just have to wait and see!
  11. Kalas has looked good in his loan-spell for Vitesse. Hopefully he continues to get regular minutes in the centre of defence. What is everyone's opinion...could we eventually see some of these promising youths (eg. Billy Clifford, Todd Kane, Kalas, Bruma, Chalobah, Bertrand) playing alongside the likes of Terry; Luiz; Ivanovic; Cole?
  12. Shaqiri would be a good option as a winger. Apparently there are rumours of Spurs & Liverpool monitoring his progress.. If we could get Shaqiri for around 15 million, that would probably be a good deal. As for Eriksen, he's still learning at Ajax. He will continue to improve as he plays more for Ajax and Denmark...but atm, I'm more inclined to say that Modric would be the better option for Chelsea's midfield. Modric has the PL experience and creativity we need..and even though we would have to pay Spurs up to 40 million for his signature..thats a fair price in the current world of inflated transfer fees..
  13. Whats the reason you're calling him a dickhead?
  14. Totally Agree with BlueLion. He was a good guy. Did his job. He was frustrating at times but he tried his best and had some great displays over the years. I think in the end..it was a good decision by both the club and Joe Cole...he's got a fresh start in a foreign league and we got him off the wage bill.
  15. Totally agree with this point...but Rajkovic failed to get a work permit or else, he would of most-likely been part of AvB's first-team plans..
  16. http://www.sportsvibe.co.uk/news/football/spurs-and-chelsea-target-reveals-premier-league-dream-11637 Not sure about the reliability of the source...but there are fresh rumours of Doumbia being linked to Chelsea, Spurs and Manchester United.. Apparently CSKA wants 30 million for him...my question is: Do we need a centre-forward like Doumbia or Do we need more of a playmaker/winger (in the mould of Hazard/De Bruyne/Jovetic)?
  17. What would be the estimated value of Kalou in the current market?
  18. So what's the latest news on Essien's injury? There were quite a few articles saying that he'd be back late March 2012...is this confirmed/true or will he miss the entire season due to the injury?
  19. With Drogba's new contract talks stalling...there are quite a few European clubs sniffing around for his services as a free agent (eg. Bayern Munich; AC Milan; Spurs to name a few..) Kalou's receiving a new contract? That's the worst possible news...we should let Kalou go for free..I mean we managed to let Fabio Borini leave on a free-transfer and then join up with Roma where he is playing REGULARLY..
  20. ^Agree with this. I think with more coaching and experience under his belt, he'll be able to progress..and maybe someday, he'll excel against the big-boys of the Premier league. Hoilett's only 21 and seems to have the potential to be a very good winger in the future. Let's see what happens...i've been hearing rumours that Spurs want him in January...If he costs 5 - 10 million, it's worthwhile taking the risk in my opinion...
  21. Ovrebo. A true cunt. Must of received exclusive benefits and a few bags of $$$ from Platini and his corrupt mates after that performance. I'm surprised Drogba/Ballack didn't punch him after the whistle.
  22. As long as United drop points, it's all good. And if there are injuries/suspension as a result of this match, well thats a bonus
  23. Should of taken him from Boro. Don't believe he's worth 20 million... I'd rather take the risk on Steven Fletcher (as Kalou's replacement) or give Wolves around 15 million for Jarvis.
  24. What do you guys think of Kakuta eventually replacing Florent Malouda? He seems to have all the skills to become a great winger/CAM...now its just up to Chelsea to make sure he gets the correct amount of playing time at this stage of his development.
  25. He's definitely not one of my favourite players and maybe Chelsea could have sold him in the summer...to make his future a bit brighter and a bit easier. Even though I don't like the way he plays for Chelsea FC, he is a human with feelings and emotions and he doesn't deserve to be personally attacked. No Football Player out there deserves to be abused on a personal level.
