Sorry but experience speaks. AVB lack of experience showed. AVB might be a great manager but his foolishness cost him and took us down to a bad season. I am a firm believe that we should gamble on player to coach. I take it over Moyes, Bielsa, Mourinho or any manager out there! We spend so much money on managers, gamble so much, that the alternative is relative cheap. This gamble should be taken!

Well I sure want it. I am tired with all the Mourinho ghost. It will never be with any new manager except that it comes from a Chelsea old boy. We would support them and give them more slack then any other manager. I sure would love to see this. And heck, look at how much Roman spends on sacking manager? Close to 100 mill pound, surely this alternative is cheaper.

A job for Rob Di Matteo has instilled a 'warm feeling' at Chelsea, says Ruud http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12379/7598106/A-job-for-Rob

Lamps - Experience is key http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7598887/ I said it before, it is a shame that Lampard loss some respect with the fans for his problem with AVB but he still is a legend for me. I don't see Lampard as a coach like Terry can be, but he also must be some sort of assistant to the team. Is the time for Chelsea players to managed Chelsea! Is happening with RDM, even though he was not part of the Roman revolution, but this should be the start.

Time for Terry Blues skipper is the perfect candidate to fill boss' chair, says Jeff Jeff Stelling Posted 15th March 2012 Chelsea are looking for a new permanent manager - and the obvious choice is right under their nose. John Terry was the reason the Blues were galvanised and unified against Napoli on Wednesday night and he could be the man to end the footballing form of Russian roulette that is the job of Chelsea boss. A lot of people were having fun on Twitter after the Champions League victory saying that John Terry has now played one and won one as Chelsea manager, and that he took himself off before the end of the game so he could have a look at things from the bench. However, Terry admitted last April that he would love to manage Chelsea one day - and I see very few reasons why he couldn't take over this summer. I know that, at 31 years of age, he is young - and, okay, Andre Villas-Boas wasn't a great advocate for youthful managers in his time at Stamford Bridge - but that's not necessarily a weakness. Kenny Dalglish was only 34 when he became player-manager at Liverpool in the '80s, Pep Guardiola was 37 when he started to manage Barcelona, while Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Martinez took over sides in their early 30s; there is plenty to suggest it can work at the right club. I think Terry would have to begin as player-manager, because Chelsea can't really do without him on the pitch at the moment, but it's a role I think he could succeed in. He obviously has authority, and the ear of the squad, whether that be the experienced internationals or the junior stars at the club. He knows Chelsea's heritage having been there so long and I'm sure he'd have the backing of the owner, Roman Abramovich, with whom he is on first-name terms. Expectations I know Terry is not everyone's favourite and I know he rubs some people up the wrong way, but because of who he is, the epitome of Chelsea, there is a likelihood that he would be given something that few Blues managers are afforded - time. With what's happened in the Premier League this season, expectations have been lowered. If he took over before the next campaign, he wouldn't be expected to go out and win the league at the first attempt, which is what was anticipated under Carlo Ancelotti and Villas-Boas. He's a natural leader, as we've seen when he has dished out team talks before, during and after games, as well as in his exploits with England. That is precisely what Chelsea need and precisely what they didn't get from Villas-Boas. Terry would also be strong enough to say to the elder statesmen in the squad, the players that have been his team-mates for the best part of a decade, when they were no longer required - even though the performances of Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard against Napoli suggested that day could still be a long way off. At the same time, there is no reason to suggest that Terry wouldn't be a technically-astute coach. He has enough footballing knowledge, if not the coaching badges, and I'm sure he has plenty of tactical nous. Terry would need an experienced right-hand man, in the way 31-year-old MK Dons manager Karl Robinson has the much-travelled John Gorman as his number two. Ray Wilkins, Gianfranco Zola or perhaps, Gianluca Vialli, would be very popular assistant bosses and have the experience that Terry could lean on. Chelsea fans have been crying out for some stability and I think Terry could be the figure to give them that, and although he won't admit it openly, deep down Terry is probably thinking the same thing.

I think Terry should be our first player to coach under the Roman era. RDM should continue coaching Chelsea, and Terry to come in as assistant in a season or two so he can learn till he is ready to fill the role. In 5 years time Terry should be the manager of Chelsea. He commands the respect of the players and the club. He knows what Chelsea needs, but he won't be able to do it alone which is why people like RDM, Zola and such must be with him. Is time we stop going about all these exotic managers, (like me with Bielsa ) and bring back the player to coach back at Chelsea. It was a great hit under Bates, it surely can be done again!

I think it was AVB arrogance and naivety that cost him. The way he treated the players was mess up. Had he buy a lot of players it would not mind cause he would have replacement. But when Mata was the only big signing, it would be hard.
-
AVB problem was that, not getting the players behind him. He will learn a lot from this experience. RDM has done good picking up where AVB fail. That being said, I don't think RDM is a top manager like others out there, but the fact that he represents Chelsea allows me to give him more slack then any other managers in the past, and I hope Roman sees this as well. Besides under the Bates time we actually did good with players to coach! Who's to say it can't happen with RDM? :blue scalf:
-
But I would still take RDM over Mourinho if Moyes or Bielsa can't come! :blue scalf:
-
Are you serious? Do you remember the 9 games against QPR? We played awesome and then suddenly went down.
-
Now I can sit back and hear all the good comments from the post match interview and analysis that as of recent I have avoided like a plague! Also have to say, that save from A. Cole in the first game was vital. Keeping the score 3 to 1 for this leg was vital. Again well done guys!
-
Awesome Chelsea, well done! But people are getting too hype about this RDM tenure. Is nothing new that whats been done before. Fire the old manager, and players get motivated for the new coach, play good and then after a couple of months they regress back to their old ways. What this shows is that Roman must, MUST get rid of a lot of players this summer. Players are number one priority, and not manager. Even if RDM turns out to be mediocre in a years time the squad we would have will be very vital to the continue success of Chelsea. That being said, well done Chelsea, but don't let this performance fool you and go give 10 years contract to the old guard. Dead wood gots to go.

Just came to praise Chelsea for their well earn victory...even if they got eliminated I would still applauded them. But also came back to point at this, the new manager effect. It happens all the time, which is why the Hiddink time gets distorted way out by many people here as they fail to take that into their equations. Look at Martin, he had the same effect, and now it's getting harder for him.

Wow, I am glad, this is what Chelsea is about! Did not matter if we lost or anything, but fight everything till the end. Well done Chelsea!

Liga - Ronaldo: Mourinho will stay Jose Mourinho will stay on as coach of Real Madrid next season, according to Cristiano Ronaldo amid reports that his manager was poised to return to London to manage Chelsea. As Real prepared for Wednesday's Champions League round-of-16 second leg against CSKA Moscow at the Bernabeu, Mourinho and Ronaldo appeared together at a news conference and both were quizzed about the Chelsea reports. "He is going to continue," Ronaldo, who netted Real's goal in last month's 1-1 first-leg draw in Moscow, said with a smile. "He is going to continue with us." Mourinho responded with a terse "No" when asked if his future depended on Real winning Europe's elite club competition, as the La Liga leaders chase a 10th European crown and their first since 2002. Responding to a question about Wednesday's game, he added: "If my future depends on the result of this tie? No. Unless the club decides to fire me, but I do not base my decisions on winning or losing one match." The most successful manager in Chelsea's history, Mourinho left in 2007 after falling out with the club's ruthless billionaire owner Roman Abramovich. He remains hugely popular with the Premier League side's fans but after this season has two more years to run on his four-year contract with Real, with whom he has won a King's Cup since joining from Inter Milan in 2010. Mourinho and Ronaldo were asked about Lionel Messi's goal haul against Bayer Leverkusen last week, when the Argentine World Player of the Year became the first player to score five in a Champions League match. "Very good, happy for him and for football," said Ronaldo, who was World Player in 2008 before Messi won the award three times in a row. "I don't know if I would be able to do it one day but I hope I can," added the former Manchester United forward. The prolific pair have again been conducting a personal scoring duel this season and Ronaldo has 32 goals in La Liga, two more than Messi, and 40 in all competitions, compared with 50 for the Barca forward. "I don't care what the others do. I just focus on myself and my team," Ronaldo said. "If I score, good, if not it doesn't matter. I am relaxed about it." Mourinho said of Messi: "Scoring five goals is never easy in any competition. It was a very good night for him." Reuters

Now I hardly see Eldo around anymore. He used to be all over AVB, that it seems the AVB fiasco has hit him badly! And yeah that would be truly awesome. The only person that wanted Bielsa here last summer, would get his wish come true! :blue scalf:

Ligue 1 - Suarez open to PSG move Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has told French television he would be open to a move to Ligue 1 leaders Paris St Germain. The Uruguayan has been linked with a summer move to the oil-rich Parisians and his national team captain Diego Lugano plays for the club. When asked if he would like to play PSG by Canal+, Suarez replied: "Yes I could go to Paris, like many big teams. "There are many big clubs with such a reputation that want to build a top team and Paris is one of those teams that is recruiting to strengthen. "I would love if (me and Lugano) could play together." Earlier this week, Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish told PSG they will only be wasting their time if they attempt to sign Suarez. "Nobody has spoken to us but it wouldn’t make any difference," he said. "If they (PSG) reversed the charges, the call would not get taken. It’s the usual story."Eurosport ------------- This would be awesome. Liverpool loosing another top stars!

Awesome style of writing I would say! And Eldo boasting about his AVB thread!

Obviously you don't know how to read Spanish!

Robdog still has not appear through here. Looks like his silly days are over!

BTW speaking about Mourinho and Bielsa moving this is the latest: Bielsa sólo negociaría con Abramovich http://www.marca.com/2012/03/10/futbol/equipos/athletic/1331375118.html Mourinho is a man in demand, and his recent house-hunting in London had fuelled speculation that he would make a return to England. But the paper quotes the 49-year-old insisting he is happy in Madrid and keen to continue in Spain. "I am going to sign a new contract with Real Madrid," Mourinho said. "I would like to have a place in the club’s history. "Real Madrid and I share a project and we are going to carry on with it. Being part of this team is a fantastic and unforgettable experience for a manager like me. "Madrid is one of the biggest clubs in the world and I feel happy here. I feel they trust me here and I feel I have the complete support of the directors and all the fans. "I see my future as achieving more things with Real Madrid and better results that lead to us winning trophies." Still in London, Chelsea have apparently had two approaches to Athletic Bilbao boss Marcelo Bielsa rejected because the Spaniard will only speak with owner Roman Abramovich (The Mirror). Bielsa impressed when he lead his side to victory over Manchester United in the Europa League earlier in the week but has reportedly told Chelsea that he does not talk to “people representing other people”. Love Bielsa, what a character!

Mancini is a mediocre manager! If I was the owner of City I would take Bielsa in a heartbeat over Mourinho. But heck, they are free to do whatever they want just like Roman does. And yes, a lot of fans from Barcelona that I speak to as well say that would love to have Bielsa after Pep leaves. But I always thought that his style could suit the EPL style equally. And that the only team where he can build his dynasty was City, cause their owner is more patient and intelligent then ours!
