  1. PSG close to Ibra/Thiago mega deal Paris Saint Germain sporting director Leonardo has confirmed that negotiations are under way with AC Milan over a deal for both Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with the total cost reported at €62 million. Thiago Silva, 27, came close to joining the Paris-based side in June, but were turned away by Milan president Silvio Berlusconi. Now, with the prospect of an additional fee for striker Ibrahimovic, 30, it seems that the two parties have struck a deal. Ibrahimovic's agent, Mino Raiola, met with AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani for four hours on Wednesday, when it is believed the fee was agreed. Raiola subsequently flew to Sweden to meet the striker, where he was joined by PSG official Leonardo. The duo, along with lawyer Vittorio Rigo, have since returned to Paris for further talks. Leonardo told Gazzetta dello Sport: "Yes, negotiations are underway and we have spoken in Sweden. At the moment everything is possible, because the transfer marker is like this, it is always open. "Soon we meet with Mino Raiola, and see what can be done. This business can only be considered closed when things are finalised." Ibrahimovic is believed to be willing to move for an increase on his €12 million annual salary, while Thiago Silva struck terms with PSG over a €7.5 million-a-year contract in mid-June.
  2. Good feedback. But does not your arguments gets thrown away when we constantly see small teams from small league make it far with less budget? Just recently a french team made it far in the CL. So imagine a great team manage by someone like Carlo? Could be a potential contender if you ask me.
  3. I don't care about neither one, and hope neither one wins!!!!! But that will not happen in a long time, and which is why La Liga is not as interesting as PL....or even Bundesliga for that fact!
  4. Villar pardons José Mourinho and Tito Vilanova http://www.marca.com/2012/07/10/en/football/spanish_football/1341939027.html -------------------- La liga is corrupt! Always favoring and helping Barcelona/Madrid!
  5. BTW Carlo also talked good about him... Ancelotti hails Modric http://soccernet.esp...'s-best?cc=5901
  6. Things changes. If reports are true that PSG got an offer accepted for Zlatan and Thiago....I think he will change his mind cause with that the team will be good enough to challenge in the CL. Not to mention that more money PSG will give to Levy which he will like a lot, and Paris being an iconic city is beautiful place to live....he might reconsider. Me personally, am tired of Barcelona and Madrid. If another teams pips them to a player so they will become stronger and not these two, fine by me!
  7. PSG offers €40m in the chase for Modric http://www.marca.com/2012/07/11/en/football/real_madrid/1342025113.html
  8. Report: Milan accept PSG bids for Zlatan and Thiago AC Milan have accepted a bid from Paris St-Germain for both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva according to a report in Italy. On Wednesday morning, French daily L'Equipe said that PSG were planning to bid for the pair. Then later on Wednesday evening, Italian sports channel Sky Sport 24 reported that the bid – believed to €65 million (£51.3m) - had been accepted. Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola, is thought to have had a four hour meeting with Milan vice president Adriano Galliani about the potential transfer. Raiola is now said to have flown to Sweden to talk over the deal with Ibrahimovic. Swedish international Ibrahimovic, now 30, has a contract with AC Milan until the summer of 2015, while 27-year-old Brazil international defender Thiago Silva only extended his contract until 2017 this summer. Milan are undergoing a rebuilding project this summer, having finished second to Juventus in Serie A. They have already signed Riccardo Montolivo from Fiorentina and Bakaye Traore from Nice, with veterans Alessandro Nesta, Mark van Bommel, Gianluca Zambrotta, Filippo Inzaghi, Clarence Seedorf and Gennaro Gattuso all exiting the San Siro. PSG, were bought by ambitious Qatari investors last May and have already shelled out tens of millions of euros on new signings. This summer they have already announced the signing of Napoli forward Ezequiel Lavezzi for a reported 30 million euros.
  9. Ex-FIFA duo took bribes Court documents have revealed that former FIFA president Joao Havelange and executive committee member Ricardo Teixeira were paid millions of pounds in bribes by collapsed marketing company ISL. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1124076/documents-confirm-former-fifa-president-joao-havelange-took-bribes?cc=5901
  10. Interesting. Either they want more money from us, or the player has come to his senses and wants to play for a top club. So lets see what happens. I am never against buying top young prospect. They are little risk since we can always sell them for not a big loss....unlike a certain Torres!!!
  11. Fiorentina have confirmed the signing of Mounir El Hamdaoui from Dutch club Ajax. The Morocco international scored 13 goals in 26 Eredivisie games for the club. ------------ This should help facilitate the move of Jovetic out.....
  12. AVB: Spurs may sell Modric Andre Villas-Boas has suggested that Luka Modric will be allowed to leave Tottenham Hotspur if a suitable offer arrives for the midfielder. Villas-Boas held his first press conference as Tottenham manager on Tuesday and was questioned about the future of a player who is reportedly keen to leave for a bigger club this summer. Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester United are all believed to be keen on the Croatia international and though Tottenham have previously been stubborn in their refusal to sell Modric, Villas-Boas says the player could leave before the close of the transfer window. "The interest that we have from various different clubs shows the importance of the player and what he's done for Tottenham," said Villas-Boas. "Ongoing discussions will continue with these clubs until we reach an agreement which is acceptable for each party." Portugal international Joao Moutinho has been mentioned as a likely replacement for Modric and the Spurs boss said he is interested in the midfielder, who helped Porto secure the treble in 2010-11 under Villas-Boas. "He was one of the most important players at Euro 2012," said Villas-Boas. "He had a fantastic tournament and was also an important player for Porto in the two years they won the title." While Villas-Boas did rule out a possible move for Andy Carroll - saying "no, no, no" when asked if he would like to bring the Liverpool striker to Spurs - he did admit the club are hoping to sign Emmanuel Adebayor, who is reported to be available for as little as £5 million after impressing on loan last season. "Adebayor is another player who was important last season and it will be a lie if I say we are not looking for a striker and Ade is part of that list." Villas-Boas insists his motivation in taking the Tottenham job is to fight for silverware, and not to improve his own reputation having been sacked by Chelsea in March. "It is not a mission of restoring reputation," Villas-Boas told reporters, "it is a mission to get Tottenham back on track with titles. "We have to continue with the quality work Harry left us. We’ll have to try to build from that and put Tottenham on road for titles." Villas-Boas arrived at Chelsea with an impressive reputation and Roman Abramovich was forced to pay £13 million to free him from his contract in Portugal. Though his brief spell in charge of Chelsea was chastening - with the players resistant to his methods and the team struggling for form - Villas-Boas says it helped his development as a manager. "For me after the Chelsea step it was important to choose somewhere I was surrounded by the right people and the right commitment," he said. "You always learn from experience and for me the Chelsea experience was maybe not so gratifying in terms of success but it was very gratifying professionally."
  13. Yeah in the article I put, Azpi said he would like to move to a bigger club, and that with the coach moving to the national french team, as well being in some tough financial situation there was a lot of chances he would be sold. Chelsea seems to be doing smart business, so I would not be surprised if this transfer actually happens then a Maicon or Debuchy.
  14. Not surprised. This is why I never really cared about Romeu. Said it from the beginning, that don't count on this guy for long term plans. That you had to wait at least two seasons before you can count on him to be part of the real team. And now some people seem pissed and shocked....if anything the pathetic people are those that where dull enough to not see this!!!!
  15. Well if it's shocking what the hell you doing here? You don't like it, move on!
  16. I still can't believe he is only 25!!! If he keeps injury free so he don't lose his game like Essien he can become great like Makelele, giving that in his role he can last longer then your avg forward/midfielder.
  17. Which is why I think Sturridge and Lukaku are more important then Torres. Torres comes too late. By the time it is the hour for Torres to leave, these two should be ready to step up. I don't know why, but I always envision a Sturridge - Lukaku partnership like the old partnership of Hasselbaink - Gudjohnsen
  18. Chelsea deal for Bayer Leverkusen striker Andre Schurrle could spell end for Daniel Sturridge http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/9390868/Chelsea-deal-for-Bayer-Leverkusen-striker-Andre-Schurrle-could-spell-end-for-Daniel-Sturridge.html
  19. BTW Mata in a couple of years I will put him in the Lampard type. Those players that become big when the going gets tough. For years we had our generals in Drogba, Lampard, Terry, Ballack, Cech and such. Now we are building a new backbone of Mata, David Luiz, Ramires, Cahill and such. So after a great 7 to 8 years with the old guard, a new one is emerging and like Drogba said after winning the CL that he wanted to show the new players what it is to be a Chelsea player. Never give in, and fight till the end. That before him other players showed him the way like Terry, and now they where doing the same with these new younger players.
  20. Silva at the moment is the best hands down. But Mata has the potential to become better because of his mentality. Silva mentality, is like...meh whatever. Mata is more drive, passion, and heart. This usually helps takes a player to the next lvl if he has the skill.
  21. Pretty much this. Close the book on that and don't discuss more on where he would fit!
  22. From all the videos I seen for him, it shows he could adapt a deep lying playmaker role. Of course videos should not be the best barometer to judge, but giving that he is 20, I say he has the potential to play that role. But I think they are looking for players that can interchange, like Barcelona and Spain do frequently.
  23. No talk about Oscar????? You are of topic!!!!
