  1. Nothing VERY special springs to my mind about this line-up and what happened a couple of weeks ago
  2. If it's something pre-historic then I give up... Your range of Chelsea history is much more vast than mine
  3. Bertrand is also born in London. For a moment I thought that all the English players had some other roots, but it seems not.
  4. You may have a point here. I'm not quite sure if Torres fits the parametres of Van Nistelrooy though, he was a pure poacher target man who relied on his positioning... Torres seemed to have more to his game and with proper guidance he could become more of a team player in our system, it's a question of adapting and fine tuning your qualities a bit differently than before. It's up to AVB and the management to make sure the message reaches him, that we are not prepared to play for him, but to play with him.
  5. The most creative side? Doesn't add up, you'd have included Mata.... I'll get back to thinking Does it have something to do with players' nationalities?
  6. Haha to be honest I lol'ed at this thread... I was sure it was pure trolling Still am, if it's not, it makes it even funnier
  7. Van Nistelrooy was in ManU between 2001-2006 (not a very long time)... At that time Arsenal were at their peak, and then Chelsea. ManU weren't such a dominant force back then as they were before 2001 and have become after 2006 with quality players coming through with Arsenal and also Chelsea seeing some decrease in quality (Arsenal's downfall has been consistent, Chelsea meanwhile bounced between different managers and couldn't find stability). I wouldn't put ManU's misery between 2001-2006 only down to Van Nistelrooy, 1 title during that period was good enough taking into consideration other teams' qualities.
  8. http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-league/chelsea-join-35m-spanish-midfielder-battle---repor Most likely bs
  9. I disagree... Hopefully Torres won't make me eat my words
  10. why mock? i merely corrected a factual mistake
  11. They deny that, they say it was crap made up by opportunists and media. Who to believe, I don't know and don't care what happened 10 years ago.
  12. I was thinking the same reading the thread... I had to recheck the title several times
  13. I can't believe there isn't a thread of this legend masseur Post his jokes here I usually don't get his anecdotes, but I always laugh over his laugh
  14. exactly, Rooney shouldn't have been even playing that game He has protection, it's called Mikel. That's what anchormen are there for, to cover.
  15. AVB likes creative and technical central defenders who can surprise the opponent, so I think he will remain one. If he played in midfield, he'd be much more tightly marked and watched, but opposition often has problems with a surging defender. I think he is defensively talented and that CB is the best position for him. I find it good that we can have an element of surprise coming from deep.
  16. What is this "non person" talk? I'm not aware of that joke...
  17. Who said anything about belief? I still believe he can come good, but as time goes by, it becomes harder and harder to believe... but I still have faith, no doubt about it. I'm hoping every game that he scores for the sake of his confidence... I thought the goals against West Ham and Rangers were the answers. Seeing that they obviously weren't, so now I'm being more cautious over hoping that the 2 assists will lift his chin in any way... I'm looking at him match by match and thus far he's been inconsistent. He's been ripping players, setting up goals and working hard? Only when he feels like it, which isn't often enough.. Okay, maybe he's been consistently bad, but on recent evidence that might just turn. He was good against Stoke, faded in next 3 games to obscurity and now he popped up again. I definitely hope he will be able to maintain his level and not sulk too much.. seeing a smile or some positivity on his face during matches is more rare than a shooting star. He needs to set his mind right, the rest will follow.
  18. A good signing, doing everything right... really? If he were a Manu or some other scum player, you wouldn't be saying that. He's been inconsistent, unconfident, not scoring... everything you don't want from a record signing. He deserves praise for his last game, it was nothing spectacular, but credit's due where credit's due... but looking at him since the beginning, I can't agree with your post I'm sorry. And I can't help but feel that this will turn into another one of those "Torres threads", full of "expert analyzes" and excuses that come along with it... also every second post will contain the word "service" or variations of it.
  19. I think if an offer came in now you can dream of huge money... 20-25 million could be squeezed out only because of his reputation, if it were Heskey, 5 million would be huge.
  20. lol yeah, what an anticlimax... someone should ask Malouda's hairdresser's name for the sake of it
