  1. I wouldn't be surprised, personage assassinations happen all the time. You don't see one mega-celebrity who wasn't built up by the media and later destroyed after reaching the pinnacle. Although we'll never know, with the way Bridge reacted... and we shouldn't since it's not our lives.
  2. What's this?? Luiz was our best defender yesterday, easily.
  3. If players cannot or will not respect the manager appointed by the club, then it's their problem, not the manager's... If it is indeed true, then it only shows that some of the players think themselves bigger than the club. If the CLUB decides and PAYS for their boss, then they have to accept it and respect it like professionals, not be a bunch of schoolboys who think they are running the playground. Everybody who disrespects and doesn't take AVB seriously, can fuck off... yes, even if it is Terry or Lampard or flippin' Drogba, I don't care - even they are not bigger than the club. Appointing AVB was a decision made by the club board, including Roman himself.. so they are indirectly showing Abramovich their middle fingers, which is disgusting when to think about it.
  4. The main reason why he would want to go back is trophies though, me feels... I doubt that in 2 seasons we will be able to mount serious title bids in Europe and England, he might feel impatient and think he would regret later for turning them down. I think he would be happy enough to be a stand-in player for Busquets there, but Mascherano will have to leave first I think. On the other hand, we don't even know if Barca rate him... they might have put that clause there just as a precaution. If a player is good for us, it doesn't mean he would suit in Barca aswell. I think there is a realistic chance he will stay. But there is also the chance that he was told he would have a place in the team if he performed well here... It's a strange situation.
  5. Sorry, but am I going to get mocked because I haven't donated too? I can explain why I can't... I'm not wealthy enough. Although I have 0,27€ on my paypal acc, if anybody tells me how to donate it to you, then I will be happy to I have nothing to do with it since putting it on my card will cost 2 € :S So yeah, even 27 cents is something, isn't it? But if people are going to be told to shut up for not having donated, then I will fuck off from this forum soon.
  6. If only he hadn't missed those easy chances... sigh. The misses against ManU and Genk(?) have come back to haunt him, and the red against Swans. And the most irritating thing is that when he gets the ball, he's too predictable, even I can tell what he's going to do, not to mention professional defenders. I've never seen a player so low on confidence.
  7. There are many aspects why Romeu's and Lukaku's prices were so far apart. Firstly, Romeu is a defensive mid.. they aren't close to strikers' price range. Lukaku was sought after by many top clubs, automatically making his price go up if you wanted him for "buy now" price. There was much difference in hype, for example I hadn't heard Romeu's name before the summer, as I'm sure many of you hadn't also. Plus, Lukaku is an international, Romeu is far from that. There didn't seem to be much interest in Romeu, it seemed it was only us.. and Barca has the option to buy him back.
  8. "Non-caring Chelsea players are affecting the fans" post-match from fans.
  9. I disagree... Torres and Lukaku swapped positions. Before Lukaku got subbed he was more central than Torres... both were wasted out wide, sadly. That's why I didn't understand that line-up, nor playing a diamond - it never works for us.
  10. Torres's case is far more serious than Sheva's, the 30M for Shev doesn't look so bad now
  11. Lukaku looks better than Torres did last season in the handful of games he's played in (and I don't mean the games where he was on the wing for some odd reason, so all in all he's had only 3 games or so thus far), he's 18.. his peak is yet to come, Torres is past his peak
  12. Won't happen, Drogba will be out in ACoN
  13. What can I say about yet another failure? Embarrassing... And when I saw the line-up of Malouda, Torres and Lukaku I immediately facepalmed... how on earth do you fit these 3 in attack? But oh well, that's that... it showed in the amount of chances we had - basically none, only a few headed half-chances. Everything went wrong, even McEachran got injured in his rare outing. And that Maxi goal.... how on EARTH do you leave such space? Robinson Crusoe had less free space on his lonely island than Rodriguez had in our penalty box. We must sign him for sure now! The only positive I saw was that Turnbull denied Andy fuckin' Carroll's penalty
  14. shit topic title Quote from Batman Begins: "Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up."
  15. An overhaul in January would be risky... If you let go a bunch of players you must sign a bunch of players, and I don't think you can register them for Champions League if they've represented another team already.. provided we make it through to the knock-outs of course. And prices in January are too inflated, it's not the ideal time to start revamping. A signing or two and a departure or two, yes.. an overhaul, no - that's for the summer.
  16. So many bad passes and failed dribblings... mind blowing
  17. Can you compare Drogba's and Torres's pressing and off-ball contributions in the games they've played this season? How did Torres play in liverpool? Was he asked to do some dirty work like Drogba has been used to doing here for all his career, or is this a new policy to Torres? Maybe this is the reason why he's fallen down the pecking order atm, maybe he's not as useful off the ball. I don't know, maybe someone smarter can shed some light on this.
  18. Yeah, it's mostly entertainment value that people judge players on. Even Beckenbauer, a widely considered best defender of all time, was an entertaining player (supposedly, I haven't seen him in action myself except for youtube clips). But the most eccentric and entertaining players get mentioned as the greatest for obvious reasons, qualities that defenders rarely possess. We have Luiz, an eccentric player in defence, and half people want to move him upfield... it seems only boring fucks are allowed to play in defence But zolayes, who would you consider the greatest coming from defence?
  19. Not THIS thread again As I've gone through this topic many times already, I will say shortly: I don't agree
  20. Short memory... I believe against Stoke, when his father was abducted, he had a pretty decent shot saved by the goalie from far out. And against Liverpool (or Leverkusen?) he had a good long shot.
