  1. BlueLion would rig the poll There is no way Term would ever become a staff member here.
  2. And to add to that: ROOSER ... Wayne Rooney had a poor tournament WAYNE ROONEY MISSED the opening two games through his own stupidity in the qualifying stage and never approached par in the two matches he did play. Was he even fit? Scored a sitter against Ukraine but the fact is that while Roo is rated as a world-class player, he rarely shows it on the biggest stage. 4/10
  3. Going into a bidding war with Real Madrid would be financial suicide. Last year we were pretty much the only ones interested, Modric reportedly even told he wanted to leave, but our 40M bid was still rejected. Plus I've read that Levy will not sell him to another club in England. Sorry guys, but there's a very big chance that this ship has sailed. Doing business with Sp*rs = no go. We'd be better off searching for cheaper alternatives, IF the club are indeed after a central midfielder. Getting Hazard and potentially Hulk and Modric in the same window always seemed too far fetched.
  4. Definitely. It would be moronic to pay this kind of money for a 13 year old. The clubs' agreement probably has a bunch of clauses that could potentially raise the price to 3, but not any time soon.
  5. Likewise mate I wouldn't mind any of the 5 getting the job, but since it's a "citizen's" privilege to partake in democratic elections, I had to vote for someone. So I did what any diligent citizen should do - closed my eyes and pointed a finger at a random candidate.
  6. It's possible that Di Matteo thought about that, but decided not to act on knee-jerk reaction and let him remedy it. I don't think taking his captaincy away would do any good to the dressing room. He has been demoted already twice for England, it would devastate him and his camp (the majority) in the team even more. Furthermore, it would once again put Chelsea in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. By letting him keep the armband, they let it be what it was - a stupid and soon to be forgotten situation. Had he been demoted, it would have generated so many negative stories about Chelsea and put too much spotlight on him, the new captain and the whole club, that it would ultimately interfere with normal gameplay and delicate transitional period. Having said that, I can see him losing the captaincy if he's found guilty in court. The club might be waiting for the verdict, if he's found guilty, they might consider it dangerous for the club's global image to keep him as their representative face. But if he's found not guilty, then there is no reason to poke the beehive any longer. Let both occasions sink into the past and rely on Terry having learned from his mistakes.
  7. You can't choose your parents. It's not right to blame John for that. The only reason why the media picked it up is because they were John's parents, they wanted to destroy his persona through them, and it's worked, even on our own fans.
  8. Such things usually have some sort of reason in its root. By the looks of it its original meaning was to send some kind of message, a demonstration. Does anybody know what was its root cause? Of course, it looks moronic when copied and done for no reason.
  9. Logically speaking he should be offered nr. 11, yes, but he may have some other preference. And is Kenyon dead?
  10. (he scored a brace against Genk, his only hattrick came against qpr)
  11. I agree. It would be very good if the forum was usable through Tapatalk.
  12. Yep, he does want to go to Manchester alright..................... to smash those cunts! and then travel back to London.
  13. That must be one of the most random bumps in internet history
  14. That's true, there is always a positive aspect for us when a player doesn't play for his country. But for the sake of the player, I would like to see him get a chance in a big tournament at least once. It's just special to see Chelsea players in such competitions, gives me extra reason to watch those games and root for them.
  15. Cap, I don't think Bosingwa and others intentionally blocked out Terry. If you look at the trophy lifting again, then you can see that it was really crowded and tight there. Lamps and Terry came last, meaning they were stuck behind in the crowd. Right before the lifting you can see Kalou and Bosingwa trying to make room for them, but as soon as the trophy was lifted that gap closes again because of frantic celebrations, only Lampard managed to get a foot in there. There was no plot to erase Terry's presence, it was just bad organization for the lifting.
  16. Congrats shon What's the difference between a global moderator and a moderator? As I understand, global mod has jurisidiction over every subforum, while moderator is assigned to a few subforums?
  17. It sometimes surprises me how are people able to talk completely random stuff in a Talk Chelsea forum. One of the most extreme ones I remember was the gay argument, not to mention some of the blatantly racist/xenophobic comments we've had over the time. I guess tools like that lurk around everywhere, at your local store and in internet forums. And there are always going to be people who ignore such rules and carry on. I think the best practice is to contact repetitive offenders personally and say a few guiding words, otherwise such generic warning threads won't reach them.
  18. At least Kalou got to immortalize his abs in the club's history books
  19. I'm just thorough in nature. It is of course a plus that there are many active mods and admins here who share the responsibility, and of course the option for members to report misconducts themselves.
  20. I'm afraid that if my candidacy were successful, my "relationship" with the forum would change. Kind of like from fun leisure pastime to an obligation. For example now I can skip pages or threads that don't particularly interest me, but as a mod I would feel compelled to read them all.
  21. lol, I don't know what I just did. I wrote an application, sent it, but then deleted it a few minutes later. I can't figure out if I want to apply or not. I guess if there's even slight hesitation, then it's best not to.
  22. And is that the sole reason why we won the whole thing? We wouldn't have won it without a lot of things, not all of them involve Drogba.
  23. That is such an exaggerated statement. He did nothing single handedly. He could have easily been the anti-hero had Messi or Robben converted their penalties, but he had the bar and Cech to thank for dragging him out of looming shit. There, I said it, but that's what I think, and I feel I can say it now that all the biggest emotions have faded. Cech was at least as important as Drogba in the final games. Not to mention the ones who did the dirty work all game long.
  24. I'd be surprised if Ronaldo or Messi didn't win it. Those 2 will be topping the charts for quite a while now. Hopefully Hazard will have a say one day. It would be a shame if Xavi didn't win it at least once in his career, for the past decade he's been more instrumental and iconic for Barcelona and his country than Messi. Judging by the winners of last 10 years, anybody else but attackers don't get much love (with the exception of Cannavaro). Last midfielder to win it was Zidane in '98, and even he won it for his goals.
