  1. I had someone say they had been infected by spyware from here as well. Just be careful when clicking some links, and be sure to have a good internet security suite such as Kaspersky or AVG.
  2. A late goal foiled Chelsea as the Blues fell to a third successive pre-season defeat. Frank Lampard had put the visiting side ahead with a tap-in when Michael Essien calmly picked him out as Hamburg goalkeeper Frank Rost rushed out, but Croatian star Mladen Petric lobbed home after Yuri Zhirkov sold Ross Turnbull short with a woeful back pass to restore parity. And young South Korean prospect Heung Min Son consigned the Blues to yet another defeat as their three-game European tour ended with yet another loss. This had all happened after Nicolas Anelka had seen a perfectly-legitimate goal chalked off by the referee - a goal that would have given Chelsea a 2-0 lead and a degree of comfort. But that particular refereeing blunder could not disguise a below-par performance from Chelsea that was only highlighted by the error-prone defending that led to both Hamburg goals. Defensive lapses have become too common an occurrence this summer - and more work must be done between now and Sunday's Community Shield clash with Manchester United. However there were key plus points for Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti; most notably the return to action of Didier Drogba after surgery on a troubling hernia. Giving a début to their sleek new away kit, the Chelsea team were as close to full strength as fitness would permit, with Ancelotti again naming Kalou and Ferreira in response to injuries to Drogba and Bosingwa. Ross Turnbull was given the nod in goal. Hamburg included in their line-up ex-Manchester United star Ruud van Nistelrooy and Guy Demel, the latter an international team-mate of Drogba and Kalou. The game began at a relatively fast pace as the two teams traded blows in the opening exchanges. Chelsea were first to threaten when a deflected Lampard shot brought the best out of the experienced Rost, before Turnbull's hands were stung by a Petric pile-driver. Anelka then sent an arrow-like effort just over the bar from an acute angle whilst Lampard again tested the Hamburg goalkeeper with a low free-kick. The best chance, however, fell to Kalou, who failed to control a header from a Florent Malouda cross. However with the next ball that was launched into the box, Chelsea were able to seize the initiative. Anelka's cross was met by the jump of Kalou, and though he was de-possessed a mix-up at the back between goalkeeper and Jonathan Pitroipa allowed Essien to steal the ball and play in Lampard, who duly slotted the ball into an empty net. The hosts responded with a header from Heiko Westermann that clipped the crossbar, whilst Peru star Paolo Guerrero fired just wide, but Chelsea were resolute and the best of Ivanovic was displayed when he blocked van Nistelrooy's effort after a sweeping counter-attack. Drogba joined after the interval and made an immediate impression when he played in Anelka, who was denied by a splendid piece of goalkeeping. Then came the goal that wasn't. Anelka raced through and calmly beat Rost for what would should have been his first goal of pre-season, but he was denied by the referee who spotted an infringement even the most ardent of Hamburg fans struggled to see. The hosts had been handed a reprieve. Van Nistelrooy then shot horribly over from inside the area with substitute Ricardo Carvalho closing him down before Petric wasted a decent chance to level. Chelsea's latest defensive calamity followed shortly after, with John Terry, Yuri Zhirkov and Turnbull at fault. Terry committed the initial sin by playing Zhirkov into trouble, and Russian could only get so much on his lofted pass back to Turnbull. Petric bravely stole in and lobbed home, showing more desire to get to the ball than the labouring, indecisive Chelsea goalkeeper. The Blues were then totally undone by more poor defending with five minutes remaining. Heung Min Son easily beat both Terry and Carvalho before beating Turnbull with a left-footed shot. It was great play by the young Korean but the Blues goalkeeper was too slow in his attempts to deny him. Essien had also headed over a late Malouda corner and Drogba been beaten by a touch that showed the ill effects of his recent surgery. Nevertheless, Chelsea had been beaten, and improvements must be made before the team take on Manchester United. ___________________________________________________________________ Hamburg: Rost; Diekmeier (Benjamin 46), Demel (Rincon 55), Westermann ©, Demel, Ze Roberto; Petric (Choupo-Moting 81), Jarolim, Tesche (Gacar 46), Pitroipa (Elia 67); Guerrero (Castelen 67), Van Nistelrooy (Son 81) Chelsea: Turnbull, Ferreira (Bruma 67), Ivanovic (Carvalho 53), Terry ©, Cole (Zhirkov 61); Essien, Mikel, Lampard (Benayoun 61); Kalou (Drogba 46), Anelka (Kakuta 67), Malouda The TalkChelsea.net Man of the Match was Chelsea's number 12, John MIKEL Obi
  3. A team of Essien clones, with Cech in goal using a walking stick or two.
  4. Turnbull couldn't save a game on FIFA. Kakuta and Benayoun were both anonymous. The team were outstandingly solid in the first half; all of a sudden we capitulate after Lampard and Ivanovic are subbed. I know results don't matter but the way we played was woeful... the 8-0 thrashing of Wigan looks so long ago, doesn't it? On the plus side John Mikel Obi was outstanding, and I thought Ferreira had a good match too.
  5. Chelsea will line up in the following 4-3-3 formation: Ross Turnbull Paulo Ferreira Branislav Ivanovic John Terry © Ashley Cole Michael Essien John Mikel Obi Frank Lampard Salomon Kalou Nicolas Anelka Florent Malouda Subs: Hilario, Sam Walker, Michael Mancienne, Ricardo Carvalho, Jeffrey Bruma, Patrick van Aanholt, Yury Zhirkov, Nemanja Matic, Yossi Benayoun, Josh McEachran, Gael Kakuta, Scott Sinclair, Didier Drogba, Fabio Borini. Hamburg team news to follow.
  6. These players should be getting £180,000 a YEAR not a week, its absolutely absurd. We're in financial crisis and there are players crashing Audi R8s like they're Hot Wheels models, and practically wiping their backsides with £50 notes. And then there are people dying because they can't afford £3.50 mosquito nets, and don't even have running clean water. The amount of money in sport is sickening, truly sickening.
  7. I think I'm quite correct actually. Yes, McEachran and Whilshire are different players, but so are Lampard and Gerrard.
  8. Drogba trained yesterday, so we might see him for half an hour. I hope Carlo does the same as he did against United at Old Trafford in April; play Anelka and then bring on Didier to tear them apart.
  9. Richards, as an Englishman, would be welcomed at this club - a perfect replacement for Carvalho and an adept substitute for Bosingwa. Personally, however, I am happy with our defensive options. Bosingwa - Terry - Ivanovic - Cole Should Bosingwa be injured, Ivanovic can move to right back and Alex come into the centre. Should Terry or Ivanovic be injured, Alex can deputise. Should Cole be injured, we have Zhirkov. Plus we have the likes of Ferreira, van Aanholt, Bruma, Mancienne and Hutchinson who can cover various positions, plus Carvalho if he stays.
  10. 'An attack minded player and can play on the wings' '... in central midfield in a slightly more advanced role.' Sounds just like them to me!
  11. The papers are trying to victimise Cole and turn West London's favourite into a villain. Good luck with that, Ancelotti has won the respect of his peers and football fans with his modesty, honesty, and desire to play attractive attacking football.
  12. I agree, I don't think he's been managed well at all. I hope the club doesn't do the same with other youngsters, especially Josh McEachran or Conor Clifford.
  13. If the above link is right and he's allegedly going to Swansea it would be a superb move for him. Unfortunately, in my opinion, Scott is simply just a very good Championship-level footballer, I don't think he has shown the quality to be a Chelsea first-team player.
  14. Don't forget Steve, we'd crumble into pieces without his activity
  15. Let's not forget Ivanovic had a shocker in the CS last season and then went on to be one of our players of the season. I'm not saying Paulo will, but at least have some faith in him. He's rarely let us down.
  16. Don't post that, you'll send Terminator X mental!
  17. Superb video. I love the way his kit is far too long for him
  18. Josh really excites me as a prospect. Not only is he recognised by Chelsea fans as an amazing talent but also by the United supporters too. Plus - he's English! With all these big names linked to us, and with most of our alleged 'stars of the future' being foreign its fantastic to have a wonderful young English talent.
  19. There's no mention of a move to Chelsea in that article I don't think, it might be word from the club about him not featuring in an upcoming match - he's 'injured' whereas he's more than likely hopefully going to be in London! Its the same as what we're doing with Deco, saying he's 'injured' when he's trying to sign for Fluminense.
  20. Thanks, Steve. And well done to everyone, what a superb achievement! The even greater thing is that the forum continues to be highly active. We had a bit of a lull after the World Cup had finished but things are really beginning to pick up!
  21. Carlo was probably using that as his excuse for not coming on tour whilst in reality he's in Brazil finalising personal terms.
  22. Kakuta, coupled with the vision and power of the Lampard-Drogba combination will be a real hit. The great thing about this team is there are very clever ball players like Anelka who are complimented by the physical presence of the likes of Essien. As far as I'm concerned Kakuta is at the perfect club.
  23. Personally I'd love to see Chelsea Arsenal Everton Tottenham But that would never, ever happen.
