We have to stop releasing players from contracts. Cudicini, Shevchenko and now Deco have all gone now for absolutely nothing despite still having time left in their contracts. I know they're all 30+ but you'd have imagined we could have got around £10 million in total between the three of them!
-
Ramos is referring to the newspaper allegations.
-
That's my only concern with Torres. The amount of games he misses a season would make it a bit of a gamble. But I believe our medical team is amongst the best in European football and that would benefit the player. Nevertheless his goalscoring record is second to none and I would willingly see us break the bank to see him wearing our number 9 shirt next season.
-
Big fan of Meireles, although all I've seen of him this season was in Porto's Champions League matches and his appearances for Portugal. He's 27 which is a good age in my opinion and his dynamism would make him a good option - but an option we don't need. His preferred positions are CM and CDM, where we are well-covered. Its €15 million I'd rather see go towards bring Aguero/Milner to the club.

In Yossi's best season in terms of his performances and consistency, 08/09, Liverpool finished second. The season before that they finished fourth, and last season he was arguably their best player! Your 'reasoning,' or lack of, is undermined by your cynicism. Give the guy a chance.
-
That's the spirit. If anyone fancies some Jew-bashing, you can go and join a neo-Nazi party and celebrate Adolf Hitler for all its worth, just don't do it on this forum!
-
I'm not sure we could have got Ozil. Every club in Europe probably wants to sign him, and when it comes down to financial power we can't compete with City.
-
Well said, zazzk. @ Ossie, you can call them the Yids! It isn't meant in an offensive manner, its merely the nickname for a football club. Tottenham fans call themselves the Yid Army, afterall.
-
I wondered when we'd be linked to Muller, he's been great so far this World Cup and really impressed me. He also had a superb season for Bayern. I think he scored 20 goals for them in his first full season as a professional.
-
For fuck sake, if people don't get back on topic I'm going to lock it.
-
Meh, we saw exactly the same stories about Lampard a couple of summers ago as well. I don't think he'll go. However, if he does, Madrid can have him for £40 million and Higuain in return.
-
I did say I would only consider it, I thought I had perhaps been a little harsh. However I think it is time to take a stance. Wind-up merchants I can deal with, but with racism it is a far more serious offence, so the ban stands.

Sergio Aguero joins the other Manchester club
BlueLion. replied to .Cee's topic in Transfer Archives
To be honest I really can't see us signing Aguero. Its been such a long, drawn-out transfer saga, but the difference between this and the Gerrard-or-Essien fiasco back in 2005 is that there seems to be absolutely no developments. I appreciate its a World Cup year, but we weren't sweating on any big arrivals in 2006 prior to the World Cup in Germany - we'd already signed Shevchenko and Ballack by then. -
Merely giving warnings doesn't seem to work unfortunately. Nevertheless I agree with TX's point about Kakuta44 being a very good contributor, its just a shame the member didn't think about the repercussions of posting such remarks. I don't particularly want to ban anyone, at the end of the day this is a just a forum but I really can't accept posts like that. It wasn't a particularly awful comment by comparison to some of the anti-Semitism I've seen posted on discussion boards, but TalkChelsea is a universal forum and I don't want people inciting racial hatred - it can lead to flame wars and the like. That being said, as I don't like banning people, if enough people state their support for the member I'll consider allowing Kakuta44 to return.
-
I'd love to see your reaction if Yossi scored a hat-trick against Arsenal, TX
-
Kakuta44 was banned for making what I judged to be an anti-Semite statement. End of that matter, can we just discuss the Yossi transfer please?
-
Probably none who went to the World Cup. I hope to see Benayoun starting.
