  1. Got a feeling Jordan Henderson might have something to say about that !
  2. Put t it this way - he is doing better at Vitesse in terms of his development, than he would be doing here.
  3. He'll aggravate it and be out for a month, mark my words.
  4. Probably. Although I imagine Mikel will come in and Essien moved one forward.
  5. Terry and Lampard likely to miss out.
  6. Yes, but at the same time its something a lot of us have already suggested. I personally think there are two reasons why Abramovich doesn't really want to spend big - I think he is concerned about these rules, whilst at the same time, he's saying that he has put the best part of a billion quid into this football club and turning our fortunes around. I think he's every bit entitled to keep his wallet in his pocket.
  7. Lampard is okay to play. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/9368093.stm
  8. The original post was intended to be ironic (I hope...)... I honestly feel that we will sign Pirlo - obviously he and Ancelotti have a great relationship - and seeing as though he is out of contract, I would not be surprised at all to see him join in the summer on a two year deal, for instance. Similarly, if we sign Mexes, it'll save us £25 million on Luiz In Romelu Lukaku Alexis Sanchez Davide Santon A new goalkeeper - possibly someone like Asenjo Out Paulo Ferreira - a loyal, loyal servant, but his best days are behind him and we should cash in while we can. Replace with Santon Hilario - I have faith in Turnbull as a goalkeeper but Hilario seems to be on the decline - whilst he's never been convincing with crosses, he was always a good shotstopper and that ability seems to have deserted him. Someone younger is needed. Replace with a new GK
  9. If Anelka scores for the third game in a row, I'll honestly be delighted. Whilst the Drog gets back to full fitness it is pivotal we have either Anelka or Lampard (and seeing as though he is injured...) scoring goals for us.
  10. He makes more noise than Arsenal's away support.
  11. The old Gerrard and Lampard debate again... soon it will be the Wilshire-McEachran debate. The best thing about it, is that in both cases, we have the better player.
  12. A Premier League loan would be ideal for Kakuta - not only would it give him experience in the league he wants to be successful in, but it will allow Chelsea fans, on a consistent basis, assess just what he is made of. And that is one way of getting the supporters onside.
  13. That's terrible to here Stu, I hope she's home safe and sound soon.
  14. £30 for a year a thing.... not sure what it is for a month...
  15. I was supporting Real Madrid... they won stuff, right? And does Zindane still play for them?
  16. Yes, very bitter, because it seems he is yet another player motivated by money. That is something that disappoints me greatly with the modern footballer - it is no longer a case of loyalty to clubs (those days have long gone, even 'loyal' players like John Terry need £30,0000-a-week wage increases as incentives to stay), or even about ambition - nowadays people just want the most money. It doesn't matter if its Barcelona or Blackburn, people will go where the money is.
  17. Kakuta > Pienaar. In terms of ability, potential, and it seems, also in attitude. Pienaar is a money-grabbing whore. He knows he'll be on the bench. Hey, we might see him at Cobham... for Spurs reserves.
  18. They won't mention it on Blues News because the Medical Department were probably having trouble finding out where his calf was.
  19. Luiz is a compromise, as I said - a mixture of Terry and Carvalho's attributes, which is what would benefit the defence.
  20. An interesting article has been posted on the Guardian website, saying defenders do not get their just rewards for excellent performances. Here is a very, very relevant extract: Carvalho, as we all know, has long since gone. However, in Luiz, there is a compromise between defensive destroyer and composed, intelligent defence stewardship. Alex and Ivanovic are magnificent defenders, but with having two defenders who are so similar at the heart of the defence, we lack the variety that the above article refers to, and partnerships between different styles of players are necessary to sure up this defence again. So, if we sign one player this January, it really, really should be Luiz. Read the full article here - http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/jan/19/nemanja-vidic-footballer-of-year
  21. I'd say signing a good, proven EPL player for £3 million is a very, very smart transfer, personally. However, since he's shown admirable idiocy, we should allow him to enjoy warming the WHL bench. Enjoy your next trip to Stamford Bridge, Steven.
