  1. Are people still blaming the sacking of Wilkins? I completely agree with using that as an excuse a reason for the three or four games immediately after that, but three months on? Unless the players are a bunch of pussies, I doubt it.
  2. I actually agree with Ancelotti; whilst I want to see him play more often, he needs to be given games sporadically to ensure his breakthrough doesn't backfire, so to speak. We all saw what happened to great talent... it became Theo Walcott...
  3. As an isolated quote, it makes for interesting reading for the conspiracy theorists. From watching the whole interview, I'd bank on him staying put.
  4. Wouldn't at all be surprised if he left this summer. Which is a shame.
  5. Having looked in the Admin CP, you were the first person to give negative reputation to a poster unnecessarily (you negative repped EskWeston for addressing an argument of yours, which you complain not enough people do). I can see what you're saying, but its hardly ostracisation... if you don't like it, its tough, but you should really be a bit more adult and just get on with it in all fairness.
  6. Thankfully that won't be this season. And we'd just have Essien chasing him In regards to Joe Jordan, there's no evidence of him saying anything whatsoever, at least not along those lines. Granted it is impossible to know what he said, but either way, Gattuso was looking for a fight for the entire match. There's a difference between fight and passion, and general thuggery.
  7. Any sized donation at any time is more than appreciated, mate! If twenty members all donate something, even something like £1, I'm sure it would all be well-received.
  8. TX - I'll give you a choice. You can take those down and act like an adult, or I can go on the Admin CP, wade through four pages of negative reputation you've given for posts such as those welcoming members, and make you like an idiot as well as a hypocrite. Up to you mate, I'd prefer the former since it would require far less work on my part.
  9. I don't really care was said to him. Footballers are looked up to by millions of children around the globe. Seeing a grown man react like that to something that has been said to him, as well as actions of thuggery and petulance is utterly shameful and casts exactly the wrong sort of impression on kids around the world. Its totally unacceptable; if I was to react like that to a tutor, for instance, I'd have criminal charges against me and be kicked out of sixth form. Gattuso gets away with a four-game ban and a minimal fine, what a joke. Its about time the has-been was put down, he's nothing but an animal.
  10. If that's the case, it has to be Ramires on current form.
  11. Carlo has admitted confidence is once again low and that there are only three players in form, or at least anywhere near their best - Cech, Ivanovic and Terry. I think this is unspeakably harsh on Ramires, who has, without fail, been our stand-out player in at least the last half-dozen matches. The fact of the matter is when you have only a goalkeeper, two centre backs and a midfielder in form, you can see why we've had such a bad season in comparison to last year. Form has gone out of the window for the most part, and confidence is non-existent.
  12. Depends on the person giving the reputation. I award many rep points during a day - up to fifty. The majority will be for excellent posts, though I give a lot to people who reply to my match reports, for instance, or post something humorous/droll. Similarly I give rep points for people with good music taste... it all depends on the circumstances. Don't feel as if rep points are reserved for football-related topics only.
  13. Chelsea have always had bad press, or at least since Abramovich came to town. I don't think that's the reason, but I can certainly see where you're coming from. I especially agree about the pressure put on Torres; its exactly the same as it was under Shevchenko (the difference being Shevchenko scored twice in his first three games... just saying).
  14. Very good call FB, he's someone I wish we'd have gone for a few years ago, and certainly at the start of this season. I'd say signing Ramires was a very shrewd piece of business considering he is only 23 and already proving how good he is; and having a powerhouse alongside him in Schweinsteiger would really give us another dimension. The only problem, is that he'd be a bugger to have at the team when it comes to match reports...
  15. Why would he leave the Premier League champions, where he is a guaranteed starter, to the team that will be lucky to finish fourth this season?
  16. For me, with our four 'crunch games' this season - United, Spurs and City at home, United away - I'd take two wins and two draws. Two draws against United represents two respectable results - and ensures Arsenal don't win the league - whilst wins over Spurs and City (though wishful thinking), would at least help us get to 4th.
  17. When we signed Benayoun, it wasn't a case of playing Career Mode on FIFA 11. We couldn't just fling £30 million here, and £20 million there. However, now Abramovich has more than shown his commitment to the cause, it is pretty clear that we can now go out and try and sign the likes of Hamsik. However, in the meantime, you're going to have to learn that the "100s of players" that "fill that demographic" aren't currently on the books at Stamford Bridge, so stop living in a dream world.
  18. I don't know what to believe. I started the season believing we could actually repeat our Double from last season - and there wasn't much evidence that I would be wrong in that notion until November. I had a genuine feeling we could win the European Cup as well. And now we've endured this torrid season by our own recent standards, I actually think this even more so. Whether this is me clinging on to the last possible microcosm of hope that UCL glory represents, I'm not sure. But I believe all right, and I won't stop believing until the day we're knocked out of the competition. Stranger things have happened.
  19. I hope to God that Ancelotti isn't sacked. No matter how poor this season has been, we need a bit of continuity at this club. And if finishing fourth, without any trophies, means we get to see a £100 million squad overhaul, I'll honestly be quite happy.
  20. If Arsenal win it... ...I'd rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon than see Cunt Fabregas lift the title.
  21. He's actually the one Manchester United I always have, and always will have respect for. The man is probably the greatest footballer of his generation... if only he was English!! True legend of the British game.
  22. Not planning on going to the Copenhagen match but I may be in London that week anyway, on uni visits and seeing family, so we'll see!
