  1. Maybe they thought Carlo would bite the bullet and drop him?
  2. Is Ferdinand really so stupid to say that Torres won't make an impact? Talk about causing a shitstorm...
  3. I'm not scared of playing Barcelona - because if we don't win it, they will, and there is no shame in losing to the eventual champions.
  4. More than guaranteed to be on BBC Radio 5 Live (693 MW), if not it will be on TalkShite (1053 MW).
  5. Saturday 11 September, 1999 - Chelsea 1-0 Newcastle United. Amazing day; the atmosphere was something louder than I'd ever experienced (bearing in mind I was only 6 at the time ). I don't remember much about the game itself, but I remember getting a load of tomato sauce on my away shirt
  6. Lampard can't be replaced. The sad thing is, we will one day have to do the impossible, but Lampard is one in a million. World-class player.
  7. Rooney's never won at Stamford Bridge, part of me wants him to play
  8. First shot on target he's had in months.
  9. Owen Coyle is a brilliant, brilliant man-manager. Granted he may not be the best coach, but he plays good, flowing football and instils a positive attitude in his players. Daniel being at Bolton is a perfect scenario for the club, and for the player.
  10. NattyBlue was clearly being sarcastic... McEachran certainly needs to follow in the path of Kakuta and Sturridge and secure a loan to another EPL next season. I'm not saying he will start every match - he might only start a dozen - but that is better for his development than sitting on those uncomfortable seats in the dug-out at Stamford Bridge.
  11. Hallelujah! Of course we're not in the title race, as eldo says. The point is that Ferguson is obviously worried about Chelsea; he knows we can cost them the title.
  12. What a stupid, stupid idiot. And he wonders why his own fans don't like him? Best left-back in the world regardless, he really doesn't help himself with stuff like this in the tabloids. It remains to be seen if there is any truth in this, however....
  13. Lose their next two games and they will be.
  14. We've all seen Sir Alex Ferguson dismiss Chelsea's title chances this season - just like last season, where we were apparently too old to win the Premier League title. And it seems to me that Sir Alex is most certainly worried about the defending champions. Chelsea are most certainly not out of it, despite being 12 points behind the league leaders. Look at the fixture lists. Manchester United have crunch dates at the Emirates and Anfield, and let's not forget the two games against Chelsea that can see a six-point swing put the Blues back into full contention. I have no doubts that Chelsea will qualify for Europe next season - in fact, I think we are still on for a third-placed finish. City and Tottenham, despite having the best squads in the league, do not have the best starting elevens in the league, and both seem to be very distracted by European competition. Spurs have been entered in the Oxford English Thesaurus as a synonym of 'European hangover,' as Tuesday's 3-1 defeat at the hands of Blackpool will testify. When you consider the fact both teams still have to come to Stamford Bridge - where, no matter how poor Chelsea play, they always seem to get a result against the big boys - there is still a chance that Chelsea can not only kick ass against their immediate rivals, but at least put up a respectable fight in the title race. Sir Alex is rattled - either that, or he's incredibly stupid. Chelsea hold all the cards in the title race. Beat United and we potentially hand the title to Arsenal. It is an improbability, rather than an impossibility, that Chelsea can win the Premier League title this season - but make no mistake, United are nervous about coming to Stamford Bridge, and so they should be.
  15. He'd be happy his African Nicolas Anelka scored twice.
  16. clone Ivanovic where necessary... so... Cech; Real Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry, Ivanovic Clone; Ivanovic Clone, Lampard, Ramires, Ivanovic Clone; Torres, Ivanovic Clone.
  17. I can imagine him going to Bayern, in honesty. Bayern have a good young goalkeeper called Thomas Kraft, but their other main goalkeeper, Butt, is 36 and past his best as far as I'm concerned.
  18. One good pass doesn't make up for the the shocking flat crossfield ball that should have resulted in Gronkjaer being booked for diving in the 'penalty' incident.
  19. Essien and Mikel have to play this game to cancel out United's midfield. Ramires should play wide right in a 4-3-3 for this game as far as I'm concerned... Cech Bosingwa - Luiz - Terry - Cole Mikel Essien - Lampard Ramires - Torres - Anelka
