  1. Nothing new, probably a BS site, but still a good read... http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/01/16/mourinho-shows-moyes-how-its-done-can-united-learn-from-chelsea/
  2. Lol Chelsea win 2-0 / ManU win 2-0 / City win 2-0 / Everton win 2-0 / Spurs win 2-0 / Liverpool win 5-3 (2 goal difference) Now if only arsenal win with a 2 goal difference, literally nothing will have changed in the top 7
  3. vs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g1hs-Cxjno still messi for me Still, they have a very similar style of dribbling, just gliding past players. Always found him more 'the next messi' rather than 'the next CR7'
  4. Not the most exciting game, but again we were playing against a team that played at home and didn't have any intention of trying to win. So good result and bring on manure.
  5. Finally, a decent post-match interview with hazard and not just "i get ball, i shoot, goal"
  6. My favourite... "It is written in the stars" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhkxTO9EQQg
  7. Before you would consider doing something like this, you have to be sure he can perform consitently at a very high level, and for me that is still the biggest question mark around him i believe. Also when you compare our team to others that have done sth similar (Suarez at Liverpool - Bale at Spurs), he isn't the only standout player we have. There's also Oscar and maybe Willian, so to me it would make less sense to do it.
  8. Hmm... With Mata and KdB probably leaving and Schurrle's drop of form, suddenly we've gone from having too many AM to being maybe a bit thin
  9. Hazard: 88 touches, 13 dribbles (!), 96% pass accuracy (!!) - from whoscored While that last stat looks mightily impressive (it is), it probably also means he is playing it too safe. For a CM that would be excellent, as it would mean he kept the play going. As a winger/CAM he should be trying more risky (key) passes and assists.
  10. It just seems so illogical to me. We started being a team in transition under AVB when were trying to adapt a totally different style of playing. Problem then was, besides Mata, we didnt have the players then to really implement it. RDM and benitez afterwards were merely stop-gaps, but were buying players according the same philosophy. Now, we do have the players to make it work, but hire a manager who now tries to revert to the old tactics, and unsurprisingly, for now it doesn't work.
  11. Disagree, you're clearly overreacting here
  12. Don't know if we're ever gonna see 'sexy' football with mourinho, but some effective and comfortable wins would be nice indeed .
  13. True it's been a crazy season so far with us, both the manchester clubs and spurs dropping points left and right. And the two teams that are topping the table and are generally playing the best football atm are arsenal and liverpool (you know, the exact two teams that would never ever win anything again), with southampton (!) in third.
  14. Can we please stop discussing who's the better supporter? Make a separate thread about it if you want (and bring a ruler) but i thougt we were here to discuss the manager.
  15. I hope you're right about this. But if it's all about vision, then why buy all these players of one type ('small' technical players suited to a more fluid passing game) and then a coach who stands for the exact opposite (defensive discipline and counter)?
  16. Could be risky since over the last couple of years the transfer policy was geared for a more guardiola-type of play (almost literally, since it seems he was the manager we initially wanted). To suddenly change it all around could further unbalance our team (which is admittedly already unbalanced).
  17. Not really buying the 'new system takes time'. Including pre-season we've had around 25 games, and attacking wise there has been no sign of any improvement, plan or system and we still haven't a fixed starting eleven. Some here say 'give it time', but at what point do you conclude that problem isn't just players' form but more systemic? Especially when we don't seem to have the players needed to play this type of football. Further more, mourinho has had a whole transfer window to adress the most obvious problems in our squad - and besides looking for a world class striker, he didn't. No reinforcements in central midfield (!!) or in defence, and by his own words - we didn't need them. Instead, we spent some ridiculous money on Willian (with all due respect to the lad, he's not worse than our other AM options, but also not that much better), and our now playing players out of position in defence. Maybe I'm wrong - and I hope I am - and in the next weeks we will start to see some solid team-based victories, but until then it does seem Jose has made some glaring mistakes.
  18. The way i saw it, almost everytime he got the ball he did something useful with it. Only big problem is, he disappears for large portions of the game ( see also the newcastle game).
  19. Why don't managers change anymore at half-time?
