  1. Tbf we all knew there was always a risk. The will he wont he side of can he transmit his work at Brighton to this level of club, with the pressure and demands, whilst also following on from a world class manager who won the CL, Super Cup and CWC and made countless other cup finals. It is so clear now he can’t. Blatantly obvious. Boehly is a smart man apparently but if he keeps letting this go on, the damage will continue. Also wait and see now he will go and bankroll us the opportunity to throw another 50-100m on 1 or 2 players as a quick fix after tonight when the problem is as much the manager as it is personnel.
  2. Might as well start speculating now for a bit, I don’t think it’ll be too long if results keep going this way. Who next then? Poch? Zidane? Bielsa? Someone else?
  3. Nah the biggest problem is the manager. Clearly. I mean it has to be no? There is no way this standards would stand under any other competent manager with experience and know how at a big club. We struggled with Tuchel start of season and last season but was it ever this bad? Like the run we’ve been on (granted we had more shots tonight and their GK was busy) has anybody seen anything and thought this is getting better? Or we’re making progress? I haven’t seen anything from the last few months or so to think that his appointment is going to lead us somewhere positive.
  4. Read this sentence back. Particularly the first word. Klopp. Lets be honest, Potter will never be on that level. Not in a million years. So lets end this Pep and Klopp needed time/comparisons/whatever bullshit. I am still speechless Potter even tried to say that himself. Klopp and Pep have proven track records at big clubs, they can get away with that. Because people know what to expect from them and their teams. This was the same nonsense that was spouted when Frank was here - those 2 will never ever ever be on JK & PG’s level as managers and will never achieve what they done so get that shite out of your head. There is no amount of time in the world where Potter becomes good in this job for this club. Barring 3 or 4 games after his appointment, we have nosedived. Say what you want but questions have to start with the management. The players weren't this bad with Tuchel so what does that tell you?
  5. Has to go. Or we end up in between 10th-15th end of the season. Simple as that. How the fuck can he have this squad playing so shite? Its not necessarily as if its a bad squad.
  6. Yeah Potter needs to go. Clearly. This Chelsea side is worse than we were under AVB. And with a much better squad. And you can blame the players and injuries and whatever but there has been NO improvement in anybody under GP. Everybody has collectively and individually regressed/struggled. His time has to be up if we are to salvage anything from this season. Which is looking more and more unlikely. Every passing week it is beginning to become more and more obvious that Todd Boehly is a fucking clown.
  7. Probably. His last few years are going to wind up being mediocre.
  8. He wouldn't even get a game for Arsenal. Hes past it. I mean the likes of Martinelli, Saka and Smith Rowe who can even play out wide, are better players. He only has himself to blame for how his careers gone, he had the chance to be a genuine world class player ie in the top 3 or 5 players for a prolonged period of time but he never truly looked after himself well or pushed himself to that next level.
  9. What sort of bullshit is this 😂 They didn't raise their game for us, we were just absolutely pathetic, if thats City raising their game then they wouldn’t have won what theyve won under Pep 😂. Be interesting to see how the Manchester Derby is but I reckon they’ll find another gear and beat United, who are in goos form, City always seem to be able to.
  10. Everton owner put an open letter out to the fans saying he’s backing Frank. Ah well hope they are looking forward to another relegation battle. Maybe if Potter is out a job in the summer Everton can appoint him? More his level.
  11. Jesus christ I hope not. Also talks Barca want Auba back but only if its on a free and he takes a reduced salary. Boehly is fucking hopeless if he lets this happen. He will get laughed out of the country at this rate, clown.
  12. Not sure. Seen something about the already registered things too so maybe more that.
  13. Nothings unjinxable. But yeah who knows
  14. I don’t know. I would of thought if he didn't have some sort of option/clause, we wouldn’t of been able to buy him due to the transfer ban. Could be wrong but don’t see how we managed to get him otherwise.
  15. Yet the manager needs time. It is concerning to look at statistically.
  16. Pretty sure hes not even done a medical yet. Bit premature opening a thread no?
  17. We've had our pants pulled down if I am honest. Despite the fact he could be a good signing. If he does well and we get up the table wont mind as much but wouldn't think he will be coming here next season. Full wages for 6 months which are 250k per week, a €11m loan fee and no option to buy. Plus he’s renewed his contract there to protect Atletico’s investment in him there also. Not even a mention of an option like the Kovacic loan either. Some places even speculating now that they aren’t sure Potter specifically wanted him either. Apparently consulted but thats as far as it goes as they see him as “head coach” more than the manager. Although his job title is head coach, going on this info, the signings from now I would imagine will be targets chosen more by a recruitment team. Similar to how Salzburg and Leipzig do it.
  18. Similarly I think Todd Boehly has proven that the way he operates also “makes peoples eyes water”. I don’t think either are blameless for the whole situation that occurred but currently one of them looks incredibly incredibly stupid and the other not so much. I’ll let yous figure out who's who. In fact Tuchel’s decision to be a bit less collaborative re transfers etc and more wanting to focus on the coaching side of things was probably justified in all honesty.
  19. Lot of reports saying we are after a wide player, I hope Zaha is miles off any list. Would be such a shite signing, one of the pettiest and most overrated PL players of the past 10 years. But it does scream Potter and Boehly all over it, doesn't it?
  20. The same way the ultra defensive and counter attacking system didn't harm the likes of Falcao, Costa, Turan, Griezmann, Koke and even Saul for a while though either did it? Even their fullbacks such as Juanfran and Filipe Luis who were pretty effective going forward also? Its selective but those guys made it work and were excellent players.
  21. Sometimes it doesn’t work out or sometimes people get overly excited. Which I think was the case with Felix initially - although no doubt there is a good player in there - he’s never really set the world alight compared to that one year in Benfica. Another inconsistent player. Be interesting to see how it works out.
  22. Would actually start him. 100%. I mean he cant be any fucking worse than the German fella we play there every game, masquerading as a professional footballer. In fact in the limited minutes v City he looked like he could physically cause problems despite still being quite raw. He would of maybe had a goal or at least a half decent chance had Hutchinson played him in the other night.
  23. So what wait to the summer and miss out on him all together? And not sign a MFer? I love how optimistic people are to still think we have a chance of getting him at all now. We made an arse of it - Benfica will not negotiate with us unless we pay €120mn and I would imagine that come the summer they will willingly be awkward with us, even more so considering the fact that the player will have multiple choices. I would like to think the club has some sort of contingency plan - although to be fair, I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t.
  24. Hes not the problem but he hasn't got any sort of huge response or improvement in a high bulk of the players… and its not like we have 23-25 shite players. He had Brighton doing better with an inferior squad (or did Brighton actually boost his reputation and profile as a manager? Lets not forget the infrastructure and how they are run - there aren’t many better run in the PL) but whys it not translating to higher calibre of players? Is he out of depth? Have managers carried this squad? Some poor players? Are rhe players not having him? A bit of everything? Simon Jordan summed it up correctly today on TalkSport when discussing it “there is language that Potter is using, which isn’t the language of an elite manager at times that does look like he’s a little bit caught in the headlights”. He is caught in the headlights - clearly - or he wouldn’t be popping off at the media and looking extremely under pressure. I think how he comes across in the media is likely how he is with the players. He seems naive. Only just speculating but certainly in the media he seems very naive/illequipped mentally. I reckon that rubs off on the players - genuinely.
  25. So we are going to stump up the 9m + all of Felix’s wages. We need a striker badly but he’s not even a proper CF, fair enough he offers something different but again the one word you’d describe him as is inconsistent. And we have too much of that in attack. No option to buy is risky but apparently they were wanting an obligation to buy from us, Utd or Arsenal and am sure it was around £80m or something daft. Or so it was reported. Personally don’t see him doing enough here to warrant that sort of fee.
