  1. And my counter argument to that is this: http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/13977-john-mikel-obi-the-keystone/ We've been through all the arguments countless times. You predicted that Jose will sell Mikel and now you predict that he will be benched. I think he will be a key player for the team just like he's been for the past four seasons. Let's wait and see if football works like I think it does.
  2. Even at CM, he was good but far from great and certainly not their best player. He lacks creativity and technical ability. I'd say, when he was fit, Cassano was probably their best player. Palacio at times carried the team all by himself and Kovasic did extremely well in the second half of the season and is currently by far their most important player.
  3. What? Sorry, but not even close. My best friend who I spend about 12 hours a day with is probably the biggest Inter fan in world. So I watched almost every single one of their matches last season and probably know more than the average Inter fan about them. Guarin was decent when played centrally. Physically very good. He was a bit like Meireles was to us. He chased the ball around relentlessly and put in some tackles in defense and used his pace to take the ball forward in in attack. Strama also integrated his powerful shot into their system. But when he was played on the wings, he was simply terrible and offered little to nothing to the team.
  4. Working fine for me on Firefox. Clear your caches and try again.
  5. And that statement is still true because the games in the league are completely different than the one in the cup. We didn't draw the games in the league because of Mikel just like we did not win the game in the cup solely because of Luiz. I would still expect us to win all those games with both Mikel or Luiz. No, I don't think it is. Because this is football. There are countless variables that change from game to game besides players like tactics and player roles, physical and mental readiness of the players, the crowd, the ref and even sheer luck at times. Stats are good to back up a point you made by observation, but they can't your whole argument especially if they're as vague and frankly quite useless as win percentage with and without a player.
  6. I'm not the one who brought Luiz in the comparison, I was replying to his comparison of our win percentage with Mikel in midfield as opposed to Luiz there a few pages back (or in the Luiz thread, I can't remember). On any account, the point I was making is not particularly about Mikel but that you can't compare the team's results only with and without a player because there are countless other variables. And I did not "slag off" Van Ginkel. I criticized his passing in the first two games then praised his passing and overall performance in the third game, and it's certainly not because of Mikel who plays in a different position. The mentality that I don't get is you trying to take what I say out of context instead of answering the actual argument. It's like you think you're running against me for president or something You do realize that this is just a forum and that neither of us will win anything, right? Again, you're making the exact same logical fallacy again. You can't compare the result alone with and without a certain player because there are thousands of other variables involved.
  7. So, so sad.RIP Chucho. Thoughts with his family and friends.
  8. Average at best. Has incredible power in his shots, though.
  9. History of Fajitas in the Mata thread :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
  10. I just tried it on Firefox and it worked just fine. So it's not the browser. I dunno. I'll ask Jim. Is anyone else having problems with logging out?
  11. Look at what games Luiz started in the pivot. You yourself (I think) posted them a few pages back. They're all relatively easy and you'd expect us to win the vast majority of them even with a few first team players missing.
  12. I feel your pain. Our game is at 3am here
  13. That's about as likely as all of our senior players who can play as striker getting injured at the same time and us having to rely on Feruz to lead the line. Besides, worst case scenario is that we ask the FA for an emergency loan for a GK in the unlikely event that both Cech and Schwarzer get injured at the same time.
  14. That's because we don't want you to go! No seriously, it's working fine for me. What happens when you try to sign out? @Hutcho, I answered you in the pub.
  15. Of course it is. Most teams usually have a much better win percentage with young players instead of senior ones and backup GKs instead of first choice because those players only get game time against weaker teams most of the time. Just like Barcelona, up until last season, had 100% win record when Messi doesn't play in 2 or 3 consecutive seasons..etc
  16. That's very harsh. He's good keeper for his age and he's earned his chance with the first team. And we won't have to rely on him, that's why he's 3rd choice.
  17. I think we moved this to the "ex-blues" a bit too soon. Apparently he's been training at Cobham. Not sure if that means he's getting the extension that Petr said he'd get. If that's the case, I'll be gutted if he takes Jamal's spot as the 3rd keeper.
  18. Inter are a very average side now. Mark Kovasic and the game is as good as won. I don't think we'll be making as many subs as we have in the previous games. I think Jose will put out our strongest team at least for 60 mins.
  19. Scored the last goal for MKD in a 4-1 win in a friendly.
  20. What do you mean "another"?! Surely, you're not implying that he already knows English!
  21. Whichever way you spin it the relation won't be ideal and that will only hurt united spirits and unsettle Moyes' in his first season managing a "big" club. And we were never 'in' for Cavani and Falcao (except maybe under AVB).
  22. If united keep Rooney, it will haunt them the whole season. Whenever he is benched or under-performs the media won't let them hear the end of it.
