Even at Arsenal he'd be a squad player at best with Arteta and Wilshere around.
-
Mate, he was about to join QPR but Fullham hijacked the deal. If he's better than Fullham, what top team would he a starter for, then?
-
@Joey7Barton Can someone take the helium of Carragher for the after the match stuff. Dogs all over England standing to attention every time he speaks...
-
Not sure why he's better than Fullham. He's an average player who had one above average season in 10-11. I think he could indeed have made a decent squad player here, but I can't see him anywhere near the Tottenham starting XI right now with all the Central Midfielders they have.

Analyzing Mourinho’s Chelsea against Hull City Tigers

I'm not questioning Fellaini's footballing ability but rather his ability to fit into united's system. I know he sees himself as a defensive midfielder, but he offers so much more in a more advanced role as his biggest assets are his physical abilities and particularly his ability to win aerial duels by controlling the ball or knocking it down to a teammate. The central midfielders at united usually don't get forward as much as Fellaini does. Their roles , instead is to get the ball to the wings or play it over the defense to the strikers after winning it back. And I think Fellaini will be average at best at that. He's not the best passer around, especially when it comes to short passing. And although he uses his strength incredibly well in defense, he's a bit slow and is no where near as tactically disciplined as as the midfielders united are used to having. Anyways, back to Rooney..

Can we get back on topic, please?
-
Can't wrap my head around their interest in Fellaini. Unless Moyes want's to change their whole offensive set up.

Hey, I haven't watched the 4th yet. Don't spoil it!

Well, we are firm believers that everyone is entitled to his opinion no matter what it is, as long as it is not aimed against a member here on a personal level, or against a group of certain ethnicity, skin color, sexual orientation...etc We have never banned anyone for expressing an opinion, especially a footballing opinion.

Well this is The English Football Thread, so the crap about united, or any other English team, generally belongs here. And we don't "keep around" or throw away members. All Chelsea fans are welcome here as long as they abide by the forum rules.

And everyone will live happily ever after?

Another point that is largely underrated is Terry's ability on the ball. He is one of the best CBs in the world when it comes to ball distribution. His inch-perfect long balls are Xavi-esque, like the one he played to Hazard which created the chance for the first goal.
-
Continuous. We never fully crashed. Like I said, for me, it was working fine throughout the game; didn't even get a single error message.
-
No, they won't interchange roles. Lampard will almost never drop deep to receive the ball from the CBs, that is Ramires' job while Frank will barely get a touch or two in the build-up but instead will be in a more advanced area waiting to make a run into or around the box. While when Ramires plays next to Mikel, Essien or MVG, he has the license to go forward and join the attacks and use his pace to make runs into the box. That is when Rami is at his best which is why I originally said I don' like Rami to partner Lampard. If they interchanged roles they'd have very similar action areas maps, but they don't. It is clear that Rami was sitting deeper than Lampard who made more forward runs. How many of his trademark runs did you see Rami make into the box yesterday? Zero, because he was playing deeper. Agree. I think that Rami works best with Mikel next to him as well and I also think Lamps with MVG will work too.
-
Not for me, although a couple of members said that they got fatal error messages.
-
I don't think he can make it as a CB in England. Imagine him marking the likes of Rickie Lambert, Andy Carol, or Petr Crouch. EDIT: I actually thought this was Ake's thread So the above comments are meant about Ake not Chalobah
-
How exactly did you conclude that?
-
Well none of that really has anything to do with the point we were discussing (not that I agree with any of it). You said that Ramires can still play as a box-to-box next to Lampard who makes forward runs which nonsense as is evident by the maps above.
-
Juve destroy Lazio 4-0 to win the Super Cup
-
^^ Following up on that point: Today JT played 52 passes at 96% accuracy and won 100% of his 5 aerial duels!
-
Except he didn't play box-to-box today because he was playing next to Lampard but instead stayed deep to get the ball from the CBs and fill "gaps of his own making" as is evident by the action areas map: You can't have all your midfielders playing box-to-box That's not how football works.
-
Well he never had the pace of Ronaldo or Bale, but what he does have is acceleration which he uses very well to beat his marker.
-
Trust me, you'd feel differently if you could understand what they're saying..
