Not at all. Mikel is a much better passer and hence can execute passes quicker.

Jokes aside, not sure we should be spending something like 30m on another attacking midfielder..

So where's the link to that Tottenham forum again?
-
I agree somewhat, but I think you're exaggerating a bit. Ashley had a good game going forward against Hull, for example.
-
Yes he had a good season at RB, but he's had more than two bad seasons there since. It's not a fact that he has more good games there than bad ones, he rarely has a game there without making a mistake, like not closing down crosses which he does in every game, like poor positioning and wrong decisions like what he did in the Weinman chance. And even if I want to assume that that is true, when has that ever been good enough for Chelsea? Bosingwa did have a good period with us, and when he did he was a starter over Iva. At Chelsea level, Iva at RB is average at best. He can fill in a few games but he is no way good enough to be starting at RB.

Informal inquiry?! Lmaooo

Agree, he had a bad game (like many others, tbf). He didn't offer nearly enough offensively. But his experience in defense, especially in one-on-ones still edges him past most LBs including Bertrand.

So basically Ramires tried to do what Mikel usually does? Funny how Obi never gets any praise for it

Only thing that is likely to be false is this rumor. Best thing about this thread is that link to the Tottenham forum. Comedy gold!

And who was the alternative we had? The only season we had a proper alternative in Azpi, Ivanovic ended up playing at CB. I've been saying that Iva should not play at RB ever since I joined here, so it's hardly "jumping on the bandwagon". The game highlighted exactly what's wrong with him playing at RB. I've explained why I never want to see him at RB again: Do you have a football answer to that? Because "I'm embarrassed by your opinion" is not really a valid argument.

LMAO at spuds fans thinking they could get KDB if we do get Willian. They're becoming worse than Liverpool fans
-
I find this extremely unlikely. Most probably his agent trying to push for something more in his contract.
-
So will I, but I will also worry about the performance because it just wasn't good enough.
-
^^ Drop it, boys. Get back on topic or take out via PMs.

Not nearly good enough for a starter at Chelsea. Ivanovic is a good CB, but he's at best an average RB.

Ramires' pace and runs and his ability to finish make him pretty special. His goals in big games made him on of the highest rated midfielders in 2012. As for De Gea, he was voted into the team of the year in the season when he was benched for two months because of his bad performances..allow me to disagree. It's still a bit early for the opposition views, I'll send you the questions in a couple of days. Thanks
-
Made some excellent saves, but could arguably have done better with the goal.
-
Yes. The match studio on Al Jazeera analyzed it and his shoulder, head and half his body was offside. Not exactly a tough call for the linesman as he was looking right across the line and Iva was offside all the time, meaning he was not onside and then ran offside just before the ball was played.
-
@JayC, Would you like to do opposition views for us? Btw, you're kidding yourself if you think De Gea is better than Cech. Although, tbf, the only time I've seen him put in genuine world-class performances is against us. And Cleverly as good as Ramires? Come on.
-
He was also a bit lucky the shots were straight at his feet, especially the Lowton chance; had that fell to a striker it would have probably ended in the back of the net. Possession accounts for nothing if you do nothing with it. Swansea had something like 65% possession in their 4-1 defeat to united. And it's not like Villa were fighting us for possession. They were more than happy to let us have possession around the half way line. Villa had four goal scoring chances, but we created next to nothing. Apart from the goals, one of which was an OG and the other an offside, we created nothing. Villa executed their game plan much better than we did.I think they out performed us.
-
JT also gave Benteke a bit too much space, Ramires was late to track Benteke's run and Cech probably would have saved that on a different day. So many mistakes in one play!
-
60 minutes. You're making quite some conclusions based on 60 minutes of football. Our style under Mourinho has barely changed from our what our style was Under Benitez and that's why we're still struggling against teams that sit deep and pack the center.
-
Thank you, that's all I'm asking for!

Well it's my opinion. I think I'm allowed to have one, if you don't mind..
